Good idea didn't think or well thought about the amount of people from the respective team that would be online, meaning more on each team would be the merrier i assume, as for me id be online prob evening time and soemtimes late afternoon, 5pm eastern, and on weekends avail whenever.

@ Huggy good stuff their, I like that possibility.

Also i was thinking we should choose in the beginning one or two tracks that we will race on, so that we have all competitive races, or for the most part in the beginning of "season 1", so that we can practice and all get educated on that track. I would say a non complex track for season 1, say maybe we have
a ten game(races) season 1 on track "X". Have rookie teams & varsity teams.
Man i'm gonna start the rookie league when i make it too 100 posts lol.

Practice runs an hour before game time or so. talk to each other about strategy with people on our teams.

Yeah this is what i was personally thinking, to get an idea of how good people are: Once Fame has sorted out the leagues and regions and stuff, we should have like 2-3 tracks of "pre-season testing". Then we should all vote on how many tracks/races to have in a season, and what tracks to race in the official season. :)

G25 user here and I would definately be up for some racing online. I picked up my G25 in anticipation of GT5, used it a bit on GT4 and have done some practising on GT5P with it, but still a ways to go before I am real good with it.

Quick question,

Isn't there a limit to the number of people you can have on you PSN friends list?

I've read somewhere that the max is, don't quote me on this, 99 friends. From the looks of it, that seems to be a pretty darn long list lol.

All these ideas sound awesome. Fame, im allready on the list My region is the UK.

I have started adding people on the list and look forward to having some clean racing GTP_DanielC

With the high volume of people we are probably looking at at least 12 teams depending on the size. If we raise the team size to 8 then it would lower down the number and probably make the league more manageable. Once the teams are sorted you can get the level of the drivers by doing what you suggested, done within the team. Just let me know what turns out so I could update to team page accordingly. I figure if its 12 people online races, we could shoot to get at least 2 reps from each team in the major races. And the team on team races will be 6 on 6 with a scoring system that will progress the teams on a leader board. Thats what I have come up with so far.

Hi, i just bought a new G27 a week ago, i'm still finding it hard to down shift and stuff when braking, i'd love to be able to race with you guys to get better. Thanks.

Hey Fame, was wondering if the teams will have their own team name, i'm thinking yes. The name of the league is cool. As for the amount of teams(12) i'm assuming this is between different skill levels. That would be cool to have 6 teams in rookie level, meaning have 3 teams in Group A, and three teams in Group B.

EX. Rookies) 6 drivers per team(total 18 per group A and 18 for group B)= 32 slots for rookies(not the final number, can be adjusted)
Group A
Team name X
Team Y
Team Z

Group B Same as above.

Same as above for Pro drivers season, or we could just have one skill level

Season 1:
Team X versus Team Y, etc etc
Could have one on one matches for points also,
Driver for team x versus driver team y.
A lot we can do here should be fun.

We could separate by level if their is enough people in the league to fill the other. slots. I just assumed we were all the beginner/intermediate level. But if their is a need to separate by skill level that won't be a problem. Also I like your setup as well. Yes once the teams are separated the team members will then decide the names. I really wasn't expected this much feedback, so by the looks we may have to separate into two leagues, one for the US and one for the European countries. I will create the shell for both leagues then if someone from Europe would like to run that league I will give them all the info and that particular thread page. Hurricane can you think of a good point system we could use, for the races, I figure the car showcase would just be for bragging rights. but a point system that would be updated weekly on the threads OP showing how much points team A has-which driver faced off ect. ect.

We could try an Excel spreadsheet to help keep track of all the points and standings. I'm by all means no expert at Excel, but I think that would be a very useful tool that everyone in the league could use.

@ Fame beginner/intermediate level sound just about right, i guess it's better to keep things a little simple, so having one skill level should be good enough. The one skill level with many different teams would be good, well we could also have two conferences with each conference having four different teams, somthing like this.

Points system could be something like this maybe: Assuming teams will have 6 drivers each, a total of 12 drivers for both teams going at it. A spectator also reviewing the race also and this could be the designated reviewer of the race. I wouldnt mind spectating them and also writing up a small review.

Team Toyota vs Team Turismo: example 6vs6
1st place= 50 points
2nd = 40 points
3rd = 32 points
4th = 26 points
5th = 18 point
6th place= 10 point
7th 7
8th 5
9th 4
10th 3
11th 2
12th 1

This is for the team competitions, So in essence the whole field can gain points for thier team, This is rough draft, maybe more points for 1st place or just keep it simple.

Just wondering if we should go with the point system or have win vs lose races also.

sorry, but My dog chewed through my g27 usb cord, is there a way to fix this? ive only had it for a few days and gt5 is coming out wednesday!!

I think with the sheer volume of racers the point system would be best. Because I see it as this. Say team toyota has a really good driver that always gets first or second. But the rest of the team rarely finishes in the top 5. Team toyota shouldn't get the win because of one driver. We will keep track of all racers numbers so in the all drivers can get credit were it is due, however as a team everyone should have to pull their weight. We will have single race events were the point system won't be used. In fact that prolly will be the majority of the races, but for the team races were lets say each team sends 3 drivers, those will be based on points.

Should we limit this league to, for example, 120 slots, or will it remain open for everyone?

I haven't updated the list yet but we should be creeping around the 80 number, I don't want to bite off more then I can chew but I think the number that we are at right now seems manageable. I was actually thinking of cutting it off at 100. I didn't expect this much feedback so it is causing some revision on my part but 100 racers, with teams scoring points every week with teams with 6-8 racers seems manageable. If we need to we will separate into different divisions,

yea the point system is best, i am hoping that we dont have just single races, with won lose, it would be great to have a whole team versus a team, watch a race from two other teams, and have a season like that, i assume the list of 80 or 100 won't be online all the time, but we will figure it out as we go.

Hey fame, i was doing some math earlier whilst procrastinating from doing my essay :P

Anyway, yeah on the list of PSN names, i had it down as 56 players at the time.

Also at the time i was doing it with the mind frame of us have three leagues, but two sounds much better, and maybe more manageable.

So say we have 2 leagues: North American League and European League: 50 racers in each league. I would recommend 5 racers to a team. This will give us a total of 10 Teams in the league, which is quite manageable. In terms of how you will be doing a points system, ill leave that up to you and Hurricane to sort out. I was going to say something like the Formula 1 points system, however, that would mean some racers, and teams not scoring any points at all in some races. However, it does mean that there will be a drive to get further up the field and better.
Obviously, you can change the rules from season to season - Given that you are going to do something like a season system too. If you are, you need to also decide on which tracks to race on in the official season. and decide on pre season test tracks, to get a sum of how fast players are and determine their skill.

Also, many people will want to create their own teams, so you should do this via a request basis. Otherwise you will have an odd number of teams in a league.

For simplicity, i would suggest that for a league you do single races for points. Then, say, the top 6 teams of each league at the end of a season could get put into a tournament: GTwenty Cup for example. Round of 12 -> Round of 8 -> Quarter Finals -> Semi Finals -> Finals -> Cup Champions.

This is where you could have a team-vs-team thing going on. It will be an interesting thing to do after the season, and will be brilliant for the players i think.

I also guess that teams could do something like a friendly battle during the league thing (season) and could do write ups about those also

Good idea, yea i was thinking about after writing that your idea is much better, and simplistic with one on one races and also having team races, its always easier to see it on paper than to visualize it.

Update
Will a race feature 12 racers from different teams, or two or three racers frome each team, i guess thats the next question, what do you think is best,

I'm in the same boat making a power point procrastinating. I appreciate all the help. If a group of people want to be on a certain team I have no problem with this. I was going to do it by region just get people in groups then let them sort out names or whatever else they wanted to do. I am not familiar with the Formula one points system. Tracks will be chosen by request after week one. The first event will just be sort of a get together, race on different tracks and just iron out the league as a whole. I will also do an example car showcase so we can kick that off. An idea of a Excel doc seems nice I will probably slap one together and link it to the league page. For the most part though, All the stats and info will be posted in the league thread. 2 different leagues one for Europe and one for the US.

I would also like to join please if possible. I have been using a DFGT pretty much since prologue came out, however I havent used my Fanatec much and as such I'm completely useless when using a clutch and H-gate. I feel I could benefit.
