I want my damn Netflix!

The new "I want my MTV"....

(anybody that doesn't have a clue what i'm talking about, count yourself lucky. You'll probably outlive me by 20 years. lol)

Random aside for those that are interested, Neflix on your PS3 should still work just fine. I suppose the functionality might be model specific, so JIC I'm confirming this for the new 160GB Slim model.

Anyway attempt to boot NF as normal. During the loading process it will ask you to sign onto the PSN, of course this will fail, however as you close the error message screen you should see that NF is still loading. After fully loading a popup might/will display stating that the PSN is required for NF to run. Let it try logging in again and after canceling out of the PSN error notice NF should be fully functional. Hope this helps some of you 👍.

You've just ruined my night because now i have the voice of Sting in my head !

This sucks a hairy ball! I'm going to have to spend time with my family or even worse, talk to the wife. Might even turn on the Wii that has been collecting dust since November.

I miss Bob!

This made me laugh, then feel guilty

Then laugh some more

@ryanurch I couldn't care less about Sony. I don't know who's claiming responsibility for it. Sorry, can't help.

:D

I want my damn Netflix!
I was able to get on Netflix earlier even though I wasn't signed into PSN. I opened Netfix, it tried to load and said I must be signed into PSN. It asked if I wanted to and I said yes and it gave me the same message again and again in a loop, no option to cancel. All of a sudden the movie selection screen came up when I opened the XMB to quit Netflix. I watched the beginning of Hot Tub Time Machine so it did work. I'm going to try it again tonight.

Edit: Apparently this is how it's always worked. Good to know.

Damn, you sure know everything about hackers. You sound like you could be an expert on them, so much sos that maybe you are one.

I mean, how much of your life revolves around PSN to get you upset over this? Perspective is a pretty cool thing sometimes.

In a month I've got 11 people coming here from across the country at their own expense to play GT5 with each other in my garage. In order to play this quasi-LAN mode, I need all the machines connected to PSN.

If it'd have been today, I'd have been pretty 🤬 off, though at least I'd be at my house and hadn't spent a billion pounds in fuel getting here.

So even PS3 setups require network access these days to run what use to just be a LAN? That is hassle - the professional StarCraft community has had some issues with that at MLG and GSL over the past year.

I'm more just harping on people for calling hackers lifeless virgins that are nerds when they are posting on a gaming forum about how they can't play with imaginary cars on the Internet.

I'm so sick of these gd hackers. I want to watch Weeds on Netflix and send messages to the people in my racing series but noooooooooo, freakin geeks have to hack Sony. Thanks a lot you freakin nerds!!!

Lol. Exactly.

Check out the dialogue on Anon's facebook. Quite humurous.

No, it's about not being able to use the PSN network when I want to. Yes it sucks to not be able to race tonight but when I can't even sign in to check messages or watch Netflix - anything PSN related, that's when I get pissed off!!

Its not anonymous who took down PSN, Kazanori Yamauchi is sitting somewhere in Japan evilly laughing and has been heard to be muttering things like "two more years" and "damn you sony".

Disclaimer: This may or may not have happened, but a conspiracy is a conspiracy so what the hell :D

GT5 does.

One host machine establishes the room over internet, the others connect P2P on the same network - but all need PSN access.

Read some of the posts above yours, you CAN still watch NF.

Just saw it. I'm already watching Neflix on my 360 lol. The point of my rant is the freakin hackers making it impossible for everyone to sign in. I don't give a flippin crap what they have against Sony, who the * are they to deny us the ability to use our systems online?

Fail. I don't understand why developers are doing this so much these days. At least with consoles, people have to own the disc anyhow, so it isn't like the PC gaming concern where people will just LAN or emulate LAN for pirated copies of a game.

They apparently have the know how to do so, thus they can. And Sony apparently lacks a way to address it, so that is that. It is a hassle but that is just how things are sometimes. I was mostly just irritated over the absurd amount of assumptions being labeled on hackers.

Gsus, PSN i still down & it looks like for some days. :dunce:

Is there ANY way to take my b-Spec drivers down from online status? Reloading a old gamesave where all drivers are offline, then quitting & overwriting it with the actually gamesave or something like that?

Or contacting Anonymous to hack it? Then they can use their skillz for something useful. :)

I wonder if anonymous have T-shirts like the Nexus and hit people over the head with chairs?

Im sick and tired to pay for half quality things, like justin bieber, lil freaking wayne, need for speed, test drive etc....god forbid me if i spend my hard earned dinars on those things...

You don't have to! They exist because there is clearly a market for them and some people enjoy them. Nobody is forcing you to buy something because it's popular.

But it is still a game through Sony, or MS, or whoever. It's like having a Ferrari and taking it to an Audi service center. You buy the Ferrari, they want you to only have it serviced through their dealers.

Official PS Blog says they trying to figure out what the problem is and it could take 1-2 days to get it back up.
