Not fair - I'm still in work. Still not sure if Mr Postman has brought my copy.
:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Did you give in?

Ah, go on, go on, go on.
Nope. An evening doze of V8SC on Bathurst straightened me out for a bit. I'm gonna give it a few more attempts to finish a 31-lap race in one piece, if that fails I'll conclude I'm not fit to race with full damage on and give up ;)

^what he said. Although the codes don't seem to be working yet so I had to get a Fit.
EDIT: they're working now, headed off to the store!
Speaking of, this pulled into the Gamestop parking lot in front of me. :odd:

Well, I'm sulking. :(
Postman failed to bring me gt6 goodness and to add insult to injury, we now have a power cut, expected to last a good few hours.
Enjoy the game and hopefully I can join you all tomorrow.

I thought the 25 cars were pre-order bonus only, that's why I asked.

I acquired my copy. Driving 40 miles in sleet and freezing rain was so worth it.

Oh man thats a omen.Buying the Fit is manadatory but i'm racing with the GT86.Multiple roll over acheived at Willow Springs.:D

I preordered so I got the 25 cars and some avatars and racing suit/helmet.

I only did 3 races with the Fit and then got a 89 Miata that I've been using to work through B license. The DLC codes didn't work at first so I didn't have the blue cars yet to use. Gonna enjoy the Eunos for a bit and then swith to something blue.

I waited to enter the psn code until after the game installed for the 1st time.I did the demo lap thing then exited the game, entered code, and they loaded right up when I restarted.

I did too, tried restarting and even entered it on the website. Seems the didn't activated until about noon EST.

I'm on my last race with the Nazda I think, then going to get a blue car or kart or give Goodwood a spin. Liking it so far, the braking is much improved and you can make lots of small corrections mid-turn. AI is light years better than GT5, they like....they do stuff! Blocking, overtaking, fighting through turns. They still slow down too much for turns but not nearly as dull as I expected.

Alright, I'm going to be the dissenter here. Grinding silly AI races to unlock the license tests to be able to compete online? "Yeah, thanks for supporting the series although we know you have XX hours on your GT5 save file we're going to treat you like a child and you have to prove that your are capable of driving online(not by testing your skill but how much of your personal time you're willing to waste)." I played for an hour or so, and after realising it would be another 4+ hours before I got online to drive with you know, people; so I took a nap.

DSG, you aren't missing anything. In fact, I envy you and your peaceful afternoon.

Where's that image of GT5 launch failure and the driver impaling himself upon a sword? Yeah. That.

I think my 4 hour grind should be closed to finished and hoping to be online later tonight. Anybody get online unlocked yet?

I got online unlocked.....not only can you not filter the rooms by tire choose, you can't even see what kind of tires are being used without going into the room. The only thing I want to know about the room is what tires they're using.........:banghead:

I'll probably be online later tonight... Have online unlocked and enough coin to buy the light roadster or something else fun.

I'm having dinner and gonna get back on. I'm presuming if I were to create a room for "friends only" that's basically like what a private lounge was. I guess the ORCA_Champ lounge is out of commission now. I'll try opening a friends only room, I just wanna load up some new tracks and drive some of my blue cars. 👍

I'm not sure if I'm going to get online. National B set is 90 stars, 3 stars per race and over 5 minutes per races. Thats 150 minutes. Really?

🤬 them.

Seriously.

GT Academy alums saying they will not be playing GT6.....that's some good marketing right there. For Iracing.

You don't have to have every star in every category before you can challenge a license... I only had to unlock 20 (if I remember correctly) National B stars before it opened up the National A license. I did it by completing the freshman cup, 400pp clubman and Sunday kart jr races

It took me just over 3 hours to get all the stars and licenses I think, now its done with and I can go online. Having all the preorder cars made it fairly easy.

That's over two weeks of typical GT5 game time for me. And I've been running in a weekly series that runs 90 minutes per race. Thats why I turned it on and played for a bit and decided that taking a nap was a better idea. I'm trying to force myself to play through and unlock it, but I don't think the package store stocks enough. If there was a survey I would rate my experience as 'Extremely Dissatisfied' right now. That's without discussing the nerfed economy where players who have spent 4+ hours playing today have earned less than 200k credits. Looks like it will be either 'free' cars or lo-po cheap stuff for online racing for a long time. I can see it being difficult to find a full grid of drivers who have a bank account that can support a GT500 series, for example. And they havent removed the 'chassis maintenance' options, which means testing multiple cars for a spec series. One of my greatest gripes about GT5.

They didn't have to make the game suck this much.

I guess results may vary, I've enjoyed all of it so far and have over 30 cars to keep me busy for a while. I am hoping it eventually becomes easier to earn money but considering my wheel had been collecting dust for a while I'm just happy to have some racing to do.

I don't remember, was getting some kind of license required to go online in GT5? I know it's annoying now, but if that weeds out some of the worst people - might be worth it. Still, they probably should've given a pass to people who passed all the licenses back in gt5.

I don't think you had to earn online privileges in GT5. At least it kept us from having a launch day server overload. 👍

My impression of online: it seems pretty much the same as GT6. All the same problems for running organized racing too: no way to regulate/look at car settings of others, no way to enforce a BoP, no rolling starts on non-oval courses, no way to set races by time instead of laps, nobody can finish a lap down. Also, when I did a little testing earlier, time change and weather was resetting/being unpredictable at the start of qualifying/races. It's troublesome and it's going to take some time to get to to know how everything works.
