Well, that's 3 of us! I'm pretty sure iForce would whoop us though. I'll send out a PM and see if we can get something together. This weekend is probably too short notice and next weekend I'll only be available on Sunday, after that GT6 will be out.

Speaking of....if anybody still tunes into this thread, what are your thoughts on what we've seen of GT6 so far? It looks to me like the core game will still be the same nonsense as GT5, repetitive chase-the-rabbit non-racing against unbalanced fields of questionable (but slightly better) AI. I don't expect to spend anymore time than necessary in Aspec/career but some of it will be necessary to earn cash/cars/tracks. On the plus side we are getting a rather sizeable amount of new circuits/circuit configurations/night races which is really the biggest thing I desire. Including multiple configurations we have well over a dozen new circuits and I believe something like 15 with time change (although it appears some do not offer the full 24hr cycle). I enjoy night racing and hope to do a lot of it.

There is also supposed to be some improved online features and options, especially for organized racing. It will be interesting to see how the "community" features work and what they allow us to do, and I really hope the promise of proper qualifying is true, that would be a god-send. I quite enjoyed the physics and graphics seen on the demo and look forward to most parts of the game having a fresh look, especially the night sky NOW WITH STARS! Some of the new cars look great too, I'm very excited about the open-wheeled and/or open-cockpit cars (Lightweight Rocket, Xbow, Auto Union, Corvette Racing Prototype, hopefully an improved FGT) and some of the proper racing cars such as the GT3 class cars and the race prepped Toyabaru's.

I'm hoping some of you are still interested in doing our little thing here on GTP/GT6 and I look forward to seeing you all on track again very soon. I've got some ideas in mind for us, we'll see what all the game has to offer!

I ran a few laps last night and the Cappy was pretty good on sport softs.Trial Mtn. rev would be a good pick along with GD/D,GVE,and a couple of others. The only change I made to the setup was to lower the ride height to get inline with the last update, tranny top speed 171-177 mph.

I havent played GT for the game itself since GT2 so the quicker i get my garage filled up the better.I pre-ordered the Gamestop edition so I would have a head start in the game. The one thing I am looking forward to trying is the 7 post shaker rig and learning the new tuning system.

Lots of new tracks and real time weather feature could really shake things up and has the potential to take OLR to a new level.I wonder if track temps will change and affect the tire temps-not just the tire temp bug :banghead: I cant wait to run Brands Hatch and Mt.Panorama.

This is what has me excited, really looking forward to all of those and especially Daytona at night. More tracks and some new cars is what I care about the most, if the physics and graphics are a bit better than that's great too. I'm hoping the online features are of some benefit but as long as they only added to the online and didn't drastically change it then I should be happy.

I'm probably going to attempt running some kind of organized group again and possibly do a points series. I want to spend at least a month or so with the game first and really get a feel for what's going on and what we'll be able to do before I bring points into the mix but I'm hoping to provide some kind of fun racing in the interim. I wouldn't mind getting a core group of 6-8 of us together to meet up online regularly during the first few weeks just to do some fun racing and testing of all the new features, find out what's the same and what has changed, then get an organized group thing going from there. 👍

I'm assuming everyone here has GT6 on pre-order. Mine's coming from Amazon.co.uk, but seeing the GTPlanet news today about the in-game credits packs made me check my order. I get the torque pack, Precision Pack and One Million Credits. I guess credits are going to be hard to come by as one million credits will cost you £7.99 from Amazon!
Now I missed the launch of GT5, but without the glitches, were credits hard to come by at launch?

Yeah, it was kinda difficult. But then they introduced seasonal events and the login multiplier bonus which made things much easier. We do know seasonals are returning and I'd presume some sort of login bonus will return but there's no confirmation yet. Over here in 'Murica (at least those who ordered from Gamestop) we get all 25 of the 15th Anniversary blue tiretread cars with our preorder so we should be ready to get into some racing right off the bat!

I have Friday scheduled off work to spend all day playing GT6, right now it doesn't look very likely that I'll actually get the day off but if I do and anyone wants to help explore the new game let me know. 👍

I went for the vanilla (£40) version of the game and bought from Amazon as they offered the most freebies. In the UK there is a 15th Anniversary version but that cost an extra £20.

I've still to tell the wife I bought the game, so if my account goes quiet on here, you'll know why! :nervous:

I'm sure I'll be online sometime over the weekend, so if you see me online, give me a nudge. I'll make my excuses now though as I will be using a DS3. Still searching for a wheel which is in my budget.

I get off work Friday morning at 07:00, plan on coming home and taking a nap until the local GameStop opens at 10:00. I'll be online the rest of the day after that.

10am Gamestop
10:30 am load updates for ??? hrs
Grind with the 15th annv. cars as long as possible,no way I'm wasting 17k on a Fit
Bank atleast 200k
Buy a Cappy RM 💡

Go online.

Don't you mean Cappy TC, or whatever it's called now? No more "RM's". :sly:

I'm considering getting the PSN version and letting it download starting at midnight:01, going to bed for a few hours and then getting up, inserting the coffee IV and then playing for a while, then going to Gamestop to pick up my physical copy and play the rest of the day. It looks like multi-monitor probably isn't available at launch so I don't really need to get the PSN copies yet, but I WANT TO RACE ON FREAKIN ASCARI AND BATHURST ALREADY!! :D This is all presuming I actually get the day off Friday which is rather unlikely at this point......but gotta have a plan in place!

Been driving Bathhurst in a V8SC all week :D
All I can say is 'respect the mountain'. I'm gonna wait for GT6 reviews by you guys and other people I trust. If I do pick it up in the end, I'm gonna be bumming rides from you guys, so don't sell those Fits too soon :).

Here, this is for you. :)

As I've said before, I'm sure the "game" itself will be just as disappointing as GT5 was but the improvements that have been made, new online features and the fact that we'll actually be able to get people in a room again means I expect to get another solid 2-3 years out of the game. 👍

I don't care about the "game" itself, I care about framerate in cockpit view when there are 10 cars nearby, how 720p resolution will look on a 1080p monitor, how much improvement in the online experience will there be, and will it be enough to boost participation back to 2010-2011 levels.

I never had any framerate issues from cockpit view, that I recall, other than very random incidents that only lasted a moment (usually when near a group of cars) but I know lots of people have issues with it. I believe I run at 1080 but can't say for sure. If I had to guess there will still be occasional framerate issues as long as it's on this console, and participation levels will probably be more like 2011-2012. But that's still better than 2013 (lack of) participation levels! If we can have 8-12 people in a room on a regular basis I'll be happy for a while.

Funny thing, I remember when I picked up my copy of GT5 we had a bit of a snow/ice storm......and the same weather is scheduled for this Friday!

Is it Friday yet?
Is it Friday now?

And there's update 1.01 out already! Yay.

Hopefully see some of you over the weekend!

I'm rather giddy today, I'm hoping that giving the clock an evil stare will speed up time! :irked:
I think I need to call the gaming shop to see when they open and confirm they will have GT6 copies tomorrow!

EDIT: Gamestop confirmed they will be releasing copies of GT6 tomorrow starting at 10am. Now....do I wait until then to get my physical copy or start downloading the digital copy tonight so I can play ASAP?!?! DECISIONS!! :scared:

That's a tough one. I'm at work anyway tomorrow, but hopefully our postman will bring me my copy.

You've got the day off work then? :)

Well, I ultimately plan on downloading the PSN version to use on the side monitors (one copy will work on both). But even though Jordan got confirmation that multi-monitor support will eventually be included, it doesn't seem to be included at launch. Looking back at PD's history of not always keeping their promises, I think I should just wait until the actual feature becomes available before purchasing a second copy of the game.

EDIT: Giggity!!

Crap, all this excitement seems to be affecting me. Getting random urges to buy the game off PSN store. Must...resist...

Why is that bird showing us his butt? :(

It appears the stars have aligned at the last minute and I will in fact get to have the day off to celebrate International Gran Turismo day!!!

Less than two hours!!! I just finishing moving one of the client PS3's to my main machine so I have a fresh hard drive and over 100gb of storage for beautiful photos and replays. The PS3 that was used for my main GT5 racing has led a hard life, time to let it retire and live the rest of its life as a side monitor provider. :)

I'm going to head to the grocery and get enough supplies that I don't have to leave all weekend, then swing by GameStop and head home to get the patch downloaded/installed. Hope to be racing by 11:30 or so!

Giggity. :gtpflag:
