It was a great time as always. I didn't get any action shots this year, as I was in grid most of the time the track was hot, and my cellular phone takes horrible motion photos. These I just snapped mostly walking through paddock and at the Concours on Sunday(no racing engines can be fired on Sunday).

I saw something similar a couple years ago at Mid-Ohio, I think it was the same organization. They'd send a new group of cars off every 12 minutes for 10 minutes of racing with all different kinds of cars. They had a big concours too and the Porsche Club was there with about 100 Porsches represented. It was one of the most enjoyable days I've had at a track. Lots of auto eye candy. 👍

I wasn't aware that they allowed such pornography to be posted here... Nice pics Marcus. 👍

Completely off topic

Coming to America
G'day all. We're planning our holiday for 2014 and are hoping to do the Disney thing in Florida.
Anyone got any tips, tricks, villas for rent in the Orlando area, etc?
Or if anyone is nearby and fancies a beer? :)

Refer to Series 9, Episode 3 of Top Gear (road trip from Miami to New Orleans)... If you avoid doing all of the things that they did, you should be just fine.

^ Except putting "NASCAR Sucks" on your rental car, feel free to do that. :sly:

Don't they all come with that as standard?

If you go to Universal Studios be sure to stop by Springfield.

Now that looks class - Maybe leave the kids at home that day!

Hertz offer some interesting cars: Camaro SS or a Mustang convertible. Guess who'll get over-ruled and we'll have something boring?

It seems everyone's playing GTA V these days, but just in case you can drag yourself away from it, there is the small matter of the Korean Grand Prix this weekend. I found this preview of it that I just had to share.

I expected that to be dripping with satire, but it was actually quite factual! It is a joke of a circuit/Grand Prix, when they went back the second year the teams said they found rotten food in the fridges from the year before.

what happened the premium subscription? I think you can hoard some 20000 messages now!

It expired and I haven't bothered renewing, probably will when the new game comes out.

Did you make you 'Merica trip yet?

If by "shiny and new" you mean cumbersome and slow.......It's so clunky navigating around on a web page and it takes so much longer to load/refresh a web page. The iOS app wasn't perfect but it was a far more pleasurable experience than this. I know it's early, but I'm rather disappointed that we've lost our app and are now forced to browse through the web. They say a large majority of their traffic comes from mobile users......so they decided to make the mobile experience worse. Seems like a step backwards to me. 👎...........oh wait, those don't work.

I can even find my subscribed threads, which really is one of the most important features.

I agree, it's kinda weird and a lot of places take more clicks to get to than before.
Personally, I'm annoyed that I can't adjust # of posts per page.
Hope it will evolve into something better. A creepy note: I began typing this on my notebook, opened the site from my phone to see how the site looks, logged-in, came here and found my unfinished message in the reply box.

Hmmm. Strange. I've been having a good root round and found it very responsive. I wonder where the master servers are...
I've updated my bookmark to https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/watched/threads/all

How did you get to the "watched threads"? When I click your link I see all my subscribed threads but can't find how to navigate there on my own?

Found it. That's much more convenient than having a button at the bottom of my screen I can just tap and go straight there.

I'm sure I'll adapt and maybe even eventually like it, but navigating a dedicated app is usually (in my experience) faster and easier than using a web page or "web app". That's why apps exist, so you don't have to use a clunky web interface.

Ok, rant over. That's the last I will complain about this topic. Time to go learn how to use the new features.

EDIT: I just looked at some of my old threads, since we now have a white background you can see the gray background I created on all my graphics to match the old background. Lol

I'm really liking the new site so far, it runs very fast using Firefox on my 10 year old desk top PC. The emoticons will soon return, & many more features will gradually be added. I'm just missing the extra Thread Tools that Premium users used to have, but they will likewise be returning at some point.

The like button's great, why not go to the first post in this thread & give Brandon some likes to cheer him up! ;)

Lol, that actually worked!! I'm not upset about it, it's just an inconvenience. Things that used to require 1 click now require 2 or 3 or 4 clicks and in between each click you have to wait for pages to load, seems like several steps backward. Oh well, at least I still have it in my pocket wherever I may roam. :) This place is still way better than any of the F1 2013 forums I've been visiting lately. 👍

I've just seen the news about the weather you all are getting. Really hope that everyone safe and well.

It got a bit rough but nothing worse than some downed branches. Tornadoes hit about 20 miles west of me and 30 miles north. Surprised that made the news all the way over there!

Owens had a pretty big tree down and lost power but I think all is well up there. 👍

20 or 30 miles is still pretty damned close!
The news reports we got here were reporting major damage in Illinois, Indiana and parts of Washington.
Glad to hear everyone's well.

Steve
