Well, I've managed to get everything done and the ps3 is back up and running.
Got to get my youngest to bed, find where my wife has hidden my beer and then I'll join you.

I will refrain from any references to "tea-bags" or "tea-bagging".... :ouch:
Just wanna say: I am in the champ-lounge.. 👍

Makes 4 of us...in the champ lounge and avoiding references to tea bagging...

Fun racing today folks. Really some of the most fun side by side I've had in a good long while.

My apologies to Mikael and RD as I had a knock at the door just as we had setup a track, and only now am I returning from that business.

I will try and get some photos up later.

Really had fun tonight.. Specially Motegi Speedway was a blast.
Good feeling racing with you all again.. Thx! 👍

Here are a few shots from what is now yesterday. A lot of fun driving, especially the Suzuka race.

Nice shots Marcus. It seemed Suzuka East was a hit, I think I will put it on the schedule. I'm not usually a fan of the track but it was a good time in these little cars. 👍

Nice pics Marcus. The full Suzuka would be nice too..:sly: Around 400PP on CS tires, most tracks in the game are pretty good. At one time I considered launching a 400PP CS League and did a bunch of testing and tuning and the cars were a good fit just about everywhere but maybe LeMans. Only downside to the larger tracks is larger lap times. Spa is a pretty long track for 400PP...but a lot of fun too:cheers: They are a ton of fun on the Nurb as well..💡

I loved all the races; chasing Brandon at Motegi, in the thick of it at Suzuka. Monte Carlo is always bad for me, but I enjoyed following dsg around for a few laps. Motegi oval was excellent experience as I suck at ovals.

So, the mix for me was very good indeed. The car is great (I drove the BRZ), the tracks worked well and the driving was as gentlemanly as ever.

👍

I think the shorter tracks are better for the lower-powered cars, they seem to keep us bunched up better. When we went to Motegi East it just became a hot lapping session where everybody was driving around by themselves, but at Suzuka we all stayed within a couple car lengths of each other. Problem is there aren't a whole lot of good short tracks in the game and most of them are city circuits which usually aren't the best for racing.

Great to see you and Mikael on track, I hope to make a habit of it.

I may be around for some racing tonight if anyone is interested.

How about Tsukuba? Always produces close racing although hard to pass on. 12-15 laps is pretty intense with enough mistakes made to permit some passing and with laps around 1:10, not too long either. Cape Ring Inside is also just over a minute and produces some good racing.

Would any of you guys be interested in running a 360km endurance this Friday at around 5pm eastern?

Though I enjoy Tsukuba a lot, the fact that it's nearly impossible to pass has led me to stay away from it. But, it's nearly impossible to pass at Autumn Ring as well and DeadNuts managed to still have some fun racing there, so perhaps I'll change my opinion.

For now, here's a new thread for you all to enjoy. :)

Great job on the graphics in the new thread:tup:👍 Are we moving over there now?

Thanks JP. We will move the Sciyobaru discussion over there but I'll keep this thread unlocked for us to use as a general purpose/off-topic/chit-chat/picture sharing thread and to discuss ideas for future cars/events.

For those of you who are consideably better versed in the GT5 technologies, I have a question. What is a hybrid? I see reference to them in the forums, but I cannot seem to find any definition.

I post this in here as it is not related in any way to the series, and I'm sure I'd get flame broiled for asking in the main forum.

Hackers have discovered a way to hack into a the game save I think it is, and move engines and drivetrains between cars, and an engine multiplier as well, giving an X1 in some cases, around 100,000 hp, other cars with 1000 to 30000 hp.

Here's a video of a guy in a hybrid sandbagging at a Nurb race...at first the video shows the leaders start. Then it switches to the hacked car. Watch as he starts with about 1/5th throttle and passes 3 or 4 guys at the start...then the carnage continues. He's a terrible driver but you'll get the point. It's a Lancer squeezed into a 550PP room with maybe 2500+ hp.

Wow, that's crazy. I now understand a lot of other discussions much better. I did not realise that was even possible. Thank you for that.

I too had been wondering, just hadn't taken the time to look it up. Sounds about like what I expected.

In other news, I got new rubber on my Subaru today, thought I'd share. Getting ready for the AutoX season, big thanks to Marcus for helping me select a nice set. Nitto Invo's for those wondering, not the very best but good on the dry and not rubbish in the wet.
