I think I've resolved to wait until there's an update to online features and I see participation numbers.

In totally unrelated news, I found out that some people on iracing are broadcasting and *wait for it* actually commentating their races! :embarrassed: Pretty cool, I think. I hope GT adds that option some day. Here's the one I ran in yesterday, and continuation. I'm using my regular number I use on cars where adjusting one is an option.

Everyone hates the game, every feature is broken and every car looks like it was rendered for an Atari 2600. And worst of all, apparently some of the cars don't have the accurate wattage of bulb in the headlights and the stitching on steering wheels is 1mm off-center from where it should be in real life. Due to those last two issues I've sold my copy......it's just too unrealistic.

Hehe, someone's trolling ;)
All I want from GT6 is decent online, which means new features+participation, which I'm gonna wait for.

HAHA! My only complaints is the strange tire sound and premiums are not labeled. You got to click on the car to see if there's A preview. I don't know all of the premiums by heart.

It's just so strange. I'll play the game for 3-4 hours straight and think "Man, that was good stuff", then log on to GTP and see all the complaints and whinging about a lot of stuff that doesn't matter at all. I mean, if I was looking for stuff to complain about I'm sure I could find things, the game isn't perfect at this stage but most of it's minor stuff that will very likely get fixed in an update soon.

All I wanted was an updated GT5 with nicer graphics, better physics, new tracks and some more online features. We got all of that, I'm happy (or will be after a patch or two). The new online features we already have are very nice IMO. 2 of the main things I wanted was proper qualifying and be able to make a pitstop mandatory, we got both of them and each one has a nice bonus feature to it. Whatever the January community update brings should only improve things.

I have the same complaint about car selection, when you're looking at the thumbnails in the dealership you have no clue which ones have cockpit view and which ones don't. I don't mind the tire sound, I don't think it's quite accurate but it's very progressive and far better than GT5 (even if it's not spot-on accurate). You get a lot more auditory info than you did in GT5.

Look at the windscreens on the vehicle thumbnails in the dealership and you can begin to discern which ones have a slightly lighter tint and modeled dashboard. It's not exact, however, as a car with a small greenhouse doesn't allow much light behind the windscreen making it look like a standard.

That's the method I've been trying to use but it's really hard to tell on my monitor. And some standard cars like the Ford RS2000's look to have clear interiors but they don't. So I just click on them and see if they have a gallery view or not. I've been using bumper cam since I can only use the one monitor, so I guess it probably doesn't matter much for now.

Bumper cam all the way here, except for the old shifter series where I ran cockpit using the H-pattern and clutch. Regardless, I still prefer the premiums for replay photos and just in general they're nicer to look at for the other drivers on track. Also, the limited garage capacity and non-functionality of the stockyard have caused me to prioritise the premiums that I expect to use and skip over most of the standards. Chaparral always has a few spaces in my garage.

And Caterham. :sly:

With the triple monitors I use cockpit view and FOV at extra zoom, it's fantastic. But with only one monitor I have to use standard FOV so I can see my mirrors, but that makes the track look really small and feels claustrophobic. So I end up using bumper cam, but I don't like it because for me the interior is where most of the character of the car is. *puts on flame suit* Without being able to see the interior all the cars end up feeling kinda the same to me. *takes off flame suit* But in fairness the sense of speed is better from bumper cam, especially with triple monitors.

To each his own!

I think the way to tell standard vs premium is if the car has view gallery as a option in the showroom, premium does.
Right, but you can't see that from the thumbnail view of the cars, you actually have to click on the car to see if there's a gallery. Took me 2 hours of clicking on cars to find a premium Skyline.

Yeah, I understand and agree with the appeal of the cockpit camera. Certainly, and I do enjoy it for lapping and the shifter races. However, if I want to go fast; it has to be bumper cam. Open wheel cars I don't notice much of a time difference, such as the Ferrari F1s and I actually prefer it for the karts, but in sedans I just can't touch my own bumper cam times in cockpit view.

And yes, the presence of a 'Gallery View' does verify that the car is a premium. The windscreen method I used was simply to speed up the process and eliminate a few keystrokes from the shopping spree. Again, not all cars that are premium appear so in the thumbnails, so you'll need to check certain ones. I think the Lancia Stratos, and a couple of other 'upgraded' cars from GT5 threw me off, but that was because I wasn't expecting them to be premium because of their status in GT5.

I'm not sure I've ever paid attention to time differences from different views? I'll have to investigate this, if bumper is faster then it's a no-brainer.

It's more about what you are used to. The bumper cam isn't automatically faster, but I personally find that the way the information is presented to me in bumper cam makes me consistenly faster than any other view. Some people use the chase cam and make it work, and as such when they switch to bumper cam they usually struggle. I find it easier to place the car and hit the points with the bumper camera, and that is what makes that view faster for me than any other view. Of course, this will vary depending on everyone's past experiences and preferences.

I enjoy cockpit view, but I'm always faster in bumper cam. I think being that much closer to the road lets you use those extra inches of track that is too risky in cockpit view. I often start races in cockpit, then switch to bumper if I feel I'm falling behind.

Is using the H-shifter and clutch still punitively slower compared to using the paddles as in GT5?
Obviously I haven't purchased GT6. Wondering if the wealth of content compared to pc sims will be worth the frustrations that come with GT. Thanks.

Anyone tried this glitch for a quick(ish) 20million credits?

Also, if anyone is a customer of O2, they are giving everyone a code for the Adrenaline pack through their 'Priority Moments' scheme. This is certainly the case in the UK, but not sure how far afield this applies.

Now if only there was a glitch to skip all the grind required to go online....
It only takes an hour or two to get what's required to go online, even less time if you use a mega-fast car you just purchased with the bag of credits that fell off that truck. :sly:

Yeah, I thought about it. But I'll probably need to do some grinding to get to the first million.
Nevermind, it's a gift-car, right?
Might pick-up some disc-only game on ebay from a seller with decent rating just to be able to utilize the glitch before it's patched.

Yes, the first one is a gift and 1mil each after that. As long as you get a disk that is v1.00 you'll be good, and I'd presume all of them are v1.00 right now.

Did it Sunday when it was discovered. :GThipster:

The strange thing is that the GTplanet mods were deleting all posts about this particular glitch back then, but now it's completely fair game. Big brother had a change of heart or just gave up? :odd:

Did the deed a couple times.:odd:
Felt bad and good at the same time. I must say I'm glad i did it. Got a few (alot) cars i liked. Saves me alot of grinding time that I don't have this time around.

I found you can buy multiple Mercs, downgrade then sell one, spend the money, sell another, spend the money and repeat until you sell the last Merc. Then upgrade, buy a whole lot more Mercs, rinse and repeat.

I even bought a couple of Alfa TZ2s and Cappy Race cars. Garage is looking a lot fatter now. :)
