@ RDA....I figured that out the secondI time around :embarrassed: oh yea! Now I gotta work on my driving skills. :boggled:

I actually mess up the first time, I didn't leave myself enough money to buy another Merc. Had to give back (sell) 2 Bugatti Veyron. 600k each. Lol

I don't think they can fix the glitch without removing the Merc from sale or replacing all our 1.00 disks.

That's what I was thinking, not sure this can be fixed without replacing our physical disk......and good luck with that! If it's a permanent glitch..........what a colossal c:censored:k-up! Especially with the advent of micro-transactions which are now completely unnecessary, I bet there are some angry bosses in Japan! Whoever priced the mirco-transactions should be sacked too, I'd pay $1 for 1mil credits but the current prices are bonkers. :boggled:

So who's going to be around for some racing this weekend? Looks like there's a few decent cars in the recommended garage, maybe we could have a go with a couple of those at some of the new tracks? I plan on racing most of the weekend.

Meh, if you know how the 1.00 code arrives at $334mln or whatever, you can tweak what the code sees and fix it. Reportedly (per $20mil free thread, 1.01 update is offline atm, probably fixing it), which is a shame, since my disk won't be here until Monday. I'm sure there will be further money exploits though.

Welcome to the dark side. :)

I'm not convinced they'll be able to patch this exploit - It all depends on the value that version 1.0 puts on the car and that value cannot be changed without patching.

So far I don't believe it has been patched based upon other's reports. I cannot comment myself as I hadn't turned on the PS3 all day. If there is concern that they may patch this sooner than Monday, you can always rent a copy of the disc and hit it up before your copy arrives. There are only a couple of ways that they could fix the glitch, and all will have negative effects for players that did not glitch.

I have to say I must laugh hard at the fear mongers and talk about lawsuits against users. Hahaha. Man sometimes I forget that most of the members on this forum were born after Galoob v. Nintendo. Skipping pages of a book, folks. Fast forwarding your bluray movie. Haha.

I read that the new M4 will cash glitch too.
True dat. Any car that wasn't on the 1.00 disk should work but the Beemer is the cheapest one so far. I'm sure they are racking their brains to torpedo this glitch but I can't see how it can be done. Any alterations they make now have to be post v1.01 and the glitch is effective only in 1.00 which is on the disk. Maybe it's possible they can patch the VGT and other cars with some kind of marker which makes them unsellable in 1.00 or unrecognizable as a car or something like that, that would be the only way.

If they can't patch it, this will go down in history as one of the greatest screw ups in video game programming history!!!. In Sony/PD's mind it could easily cost them $millions in micro-transaction revenue. Oh they humanity!!!:banghead: This is the kind of thing that could get Kaz fired, I'm sure he's being raked over the coals as we speak. 🤬

I should be around most of the weekend with my 8000 cars...

If 7500 of those are in the stockyard you'll be back to only 500 cars soon. :dunce: Maybe the stockyard glitch is intentional to keep us from piling up ill-gotten vehicles?

I'll admit that now that I've done the glitch and can get any/every car I want.......there's virtually no reason to play the game anymore. The only reason to do any career mode events is to grind money to get cars, there's no real enjoyment to be had in the chase-the-rabbit "racing" (except maybe in the kart races) so once you can get the cars you want there's nothing left to do with it except go online. And for some reason I currently cannot stay connected to a room for more than 2 minutes, so..........yeah. I certainly wish there was some kind of proper/fun racing in the game to keep me entertained until I can figure out my network issue.

For those who have been able to race online, what are your opinions? Do the new qualifying/pitstop regulations work like they're supposed to? It looks like there's lots of filters for what kind of cars are allowed on track, has anybody explored those? Does lag/stability seem to be any better?

Haha..you fell for the 8000? Actually I have about 300 including my Anniv and and about 80 prize cars. I bought mostly new cars, very few from GT5 and a few of the more expensive ones I might race someday but would never be able to afford. I was determined not to create an unwieldy mess of cars with this game...lol.

I have only done a few races online and really liked it. Practice/Qualifying/Race is the shizzle. You can qualify with other cars on track or alone (everyone is on track just can't see each other) With everyone on track you get "placed" on the track in single file with several car lengths separating each of you and a standing start.

I believe the penalty for pit stop violations is 50 seconds and for tire change violations 100 seconds, so there's no advantage to skipping a required pitstop or tire compound change. I was in one lobby that had 16 people and there was some lag. Mostly I've been in my own lobby tuning with at most 4 people and only you have had trouble connecting so far:lol:
Too early to tell but I'm sure patches will be forthcoming.

I haven't explored the lobby sort options but there are a lot of them. Maybe I'll give it a run this weekend or we can do it together or with the group to have several of us try to poke holes in it at once.

I'm not sure what's going on with my online, I think it's a local network issue and not game related because my wifi devices have been acting funny too. Seems like it's intermittent, on for a few seconds and then off for a second, repeat as necessary. If I can get it rectified then I plan on doing a lot of online racing this weekend and finally getting a feel for things.

I drove one of the BMW GT3 race cars at Daytona Road at night the other day and I feel like it gave me my first taste of what the game has to offer. Everything felt and looked fantastic, the track is stunning at night and the feeling I got while driving the GT3 race car was something I've never felt in another game and it was a good thing. Even on the RH tires were great, they weren't stuck to the track like a slot car, if you weren't careful the back-end would gladly get out of line but even when it did it was possible to bring it back under control and keep going. It felt twitchy and nervous and all kinds of fun! I'm looking forward to more of this but with real people instead of rabbits. 👍

Getting a bunch of snow here tonight, looks like I'll have to stay indoors all day tomorrow. Whatever shall I do? 💡 If anyone will be interested in racing I should be around most of the day/evening and plan on doing a lot of racing. I've got all kinds of cars to test out. :D

Anybody racing today? Maybe some shifter karts, recommended garage, BRZ/86 GT? I've bought most of the race versions of the BRZ/86 GT cars, I'd recommend everyone do the same. :sly: I'm buying base models (of all kinds) when available so I can custom paint them for club racing. 👍

Heads up guys, the according to the forum the glitch has stopped working.
I saw that, plan on doing a bunch of shopping tonight before I do the 1.02 update. I mostly have everything I want, gonna get a bunch of 20mil cars that can be sold for 6mil as a sort of savings account. 👍

Apparently so, but I read somewhere it may work with the new Red Bull kart!

Also, slipstreaming has three options now.
(Was Wardez always a moderator? :) )

Wardez is a fairly new moderator I believe, but a good choice. I'm very interested to see how the new slipstream option works. I did a kart race last night and even on the low setting the slipstream was wicked fast.

It appears our PSN ID names will display properly in online rooms now, which makes me glad. 👍 Oh, and apparently cockpit views are so dark now you can barely see the guages.....true to form, for every one thing they fix they break something else. But, the RA menu may work again (not sure on which wheels it works now).
