I love the recent activities for Escape Plan describes all of my deaths. If you haven't played it yet it can be very humorous and there are tons of ways to die. A few of my death notifications in just a few rounds are: mcfizzle inhaled, mcfizzle tripped over a brick, mcfizzle combusted, and not a death but mcfizzle had too much coffee.:lol: it's cross buy with the Vita version. The biggest complaint most people had was the touch controls on the Vita (I never had a major issue with them) but it seems to work well in combo with buttons and the track pad. It's a pickup I recommend.

So, my initial thoughts. Resogun is a fantastic old school game, I have taken so many pictures of in-game shots of explosions, incredible lighting effects, wow truly a lot better than I expected. Constrast is also a very diferent game, a slight twist on the 20's era of music and that haunting atmosphere of a living city at night. Very interesting indeed, I have no idea what they have for reviews but i am enjoying them both very much. So last but not least, is Warframe.

It certainly isn't ground breaking but fun can be had just having a crew of people blast away at enemies and slice them in half. it's free so I don;t care whate reviewers say about it, If you like action and playing with a group of people, there is nothing wrong with this game, and again it's free.

I still don;t have any games like Killzone, or any of the release titles, but I think everything runs so much smoother in the UI, and navigating the store is effortless.

I can tell the ps4 is going to win many people over.
 
I'm currently enjoying Knack and Killzone: Shadow Fall (check out PS4 Trophy Guides if you need guides or trophy lists) but I really can't wait for the next God of War. I'm sure they'll reveal it this E3 though but maybe they'll go with a new protagonist :0
 
Low and behold, after an awesome few days with my PS4 it no longer displays any output video. I had called Sony and their customer service reps were very kind and we did all sorts of diagnosis on the device, but none were fruitful. So chalk another one up to the 4% failure rate. My Ps4 coffin should be in the mail.

I think it sucks but honestly the system is such a jump from the PS3, I am just excited to get it back in full working condition. Gt6 is on its way to my house right now so, that should keep me well occupied until the PS4 gets sorted out and delivered back to me.

Damn, that's a bit of bad news for you - I hope it gets fixed soon. GT6 should do more than suffice in keeping you busy - trust me :)
 
Sooo......

Just set mine up and trying to update the system to version 1.51, but it gets to a certain point then says "cannot connect to the server within the time limit" :( Anyone else have this issue???
 
After a good two/three hours last night I finally got the patch installed 👍. All I've really done on the PS4 so far is set up my PSN account and then play about 10 minutes of Knack.
I like the new UI, it doesn't take very long to get used to and in reality it isn't too different from the XMB. Installations are much quicker (when they work :P) as are loading times for various features such as games and the PS store :).
By the end of today I should have FIFA 14 as well so hopefully I can get more playing time on the new system. If not then I'll be playing GT6 👍
 
Really hope people would stop abusing the playroom stream as it has potential. Some guys were interviewing a big indie developer while talking about gaming and it was great. Yet on another stream a guy was smoking weed and drinking.

Oh, it's been a lot worse than that - some idiot who has now been banned via twitter exposed his sleeping wife/girlfriend. I agree though, plenty of creativity potential there and Sony picked up on that straight away with Shuhei-san even complementing one group.

Since we bought a used one, we set it up last night to make sure everything on the system was working (since it will end up being a Christmas present for me). One thing I noticed is that the touchpad seemed to not do anything, at all. Does the PS4 home interface simply not use the touchpad for navigation, or do I maybe have a messed up controller?

I don't think the UI uses it at all. The best use of it I've seen so far is in the demo for trine 2. At least I think that's the name if it. You use the touchpad to draw shapes in the game. If you want to try the touch pad that's the best way to see how it works.

It also works on Assassins Creed IV and Killzone Shadow Fall.
 
The Level Up Show is really good.

Too bad theres immature morons everywhere. One guy started calling a 8 year old girl names. I swear some people are so pathetic. I hope Sony bans these people from streams.
 
after using party chat on PS4 literally all the time i don't know how i ever functioned without it on PS3, such a pain in the ass to coordinate what games to play with your friends via message before finally being able to chat while in a match or something, also it's soooo much faster in the menus, no more waiting for a minute for the XMB to decide to load my friend list, etc.

When the 360 released party chat the ps3 was pretty much dead to me. Me and about 7 friends really just never went back to it. That one feature is very important and to me is what put the 360 way over the ps3 last gen.

I agree.

Nice to see the PS4 finally has this feature. Since they are charging for PSN on the PS4 it only makes sense to finally have that party chat feature.

Yep most online features / access are free apart from real-time multiplayer and cloud saves and access to early betas. So you can share video clips, photos, live stream game footage, asynchronous multiplayer, some online F2P games and access to applications like Netflix and web browsing for free.

Sorry if it's been mentioned in the thread before, but has anyone heard much news about Watch Dogs? I see it on the first page under release titles but i'm almost certain that it was delayed.

Yes its delayed. Expect it well into next year now.

Ubisoft see it as a very important new game so they want it as good as can be and the timing to be just right. Wouldn't be surprised to see it slip to October 2014. Officially its April 2014 onwards

That's the only thing I can think of that would make them want to make it really polished would be that there was a really big release recently that had way too many bugs in it, especially the online. :sly::sly:


Also is there any news on the Ps4 being able to play Ps3 games? I know that it's not backwards compatible but i've read somewhere that the Ps4 may be able to run them through the same emulation they used for PsOne games on the Ps3?

Only thing I've heard is Gaikai streaming. Also they will re-release games to make money. I don't see emulation working without at least some hardware along side software like the PAL PS3 had.

The research firm said that the 2.1 million units sold in the system's first two weeks on sale (first in North America and then in Europe) places it above Nintendo's Wii, which sold 1.6 million units in its first two weeks (in Japan and North America) and Sony's own PS2, which sold 1.4 million units in Japan back in March 2000.

Microsoft's Xbox One sold over 1 million units in its first two weeks, but the red-hot start for the PS4 only reinforces DFC's forecast that Sony's new console will be "the leading system of this generation." DFC agreed with SCE boss Andrew House that PS4 could outsell the PS3, but it's doubtful PS4 will approach the mighty sales of the PS2.
