POLL: Do You Like The <1,000,000 Cr. Gift Restriction?

If you didn't care you aren't the one being asked to know. The anti-dupe lobby is likely patially to blaim though. If you didn't take part in telling others how to play then I thank you for keeping your "faith" to yourself.

But my point is this forum is now full of dupers moaning that they've lost this feature, are they expecting sympathy or something? It was never an intended feature of the game, now it's gone just deal with it.

People are saying it's stopping them getting cars that they want to drive, not collect, when it's really not. Sure it's going to make getting all 1031 cars but who really wants all of them. I haven't duped/glitched etc and I've got 300 odd cars that I enjoy driving, including the Ferrari F10 and other expensive cars. There aren't many left I want to actually buy to drive.

First of all, I really do like the 1M restriction.

Anyway, like it or not, I hope this might be the first step needed to offer DLC car packs. Imagine that if the new cars are hiddenly downloaded with the regular update patches and then their unlocked via the PS Store, PD won´t like them to be duped and traded as it actually occurs.

Retribution maybe? Whiners caused this. That or it's the ebay thing

Whats shameful is the lack of discipline by the some of the GT community. It led to PD taking drastic measures. My hope is that this this forces the rinse and repeat complainers to leave.

Discipline in a video game? Really?

I loved trading myself million dollar cars just because I was able to. This update got me a little mad, but I'm over it.

If PD at least lowered the prices on these cars, the trading restriction wouldn't be felt as much.

I paid money for this game, knowing I'd be able to trade cars. Now I can't, because PD changed their minds about it, and made a decision for me, that doesn't add any value or fun to the game. It only restricts the game. It's utter bs.

Only PD know why they did this, but all we do know for sure is duping wasn't an intended or advertised 'feature' of this game. It didn't even exist until they allowed save back ups.

Um, I have a number of cars that cannot be traded or dupped...guess where I got them.

Reading between the lines it really comes down to two sides, the people that want to be able to say "I earned this X2010 and you didn't" and the people that just want to play how ever they want. As has been said before, accomplishments in a video game wont go far on your resume. If you can not take personal satisfaction in your accomplishments and must have others approval then someone duping a car is the least of your worries. I have never duped a car and have earned all of mine and that is personally satisfying to me and I could care less what the next guy did to get his, I know what I did.

Oh to the OP and Poll, it doesn't effect me so I voted I like just to add to it.

This.

How can there be a mystique around how difficult GT can/used to be? Talk about unrestrictive, before GT5 it was possible to download a 100% complete game save of any GT game w/ tons of money and cars in the garage.

Good question, but look at all the fancy signatures floating around with how many golds, how far complete ect..... Out there for everyone to see.

The whiners have won. They whined and whined and whined about how I play my own game, which has no effect on them, and ISN'T ANY OF THEIR BUSINESS.

PD gave in to the whiners and now THEY have made MY game less fun.

I won't be buying any more expensive cars. I can't afford them. I don't have time to sit for hours running circles at indy just to "buy" a "car" with "money" I "earn".

Think for a second and you'll see why I put all those words in quotes.

I didn't "buy" anything because it's already on my disc. I just unlocked it.

I put "car" in quotes because there is no car. It's just a bunch of ones and zeros in a game.

I put "money" in quotes because there is no money. Same as above.

I put "earn" in quotes because there is no sense of accomplishment associated with grinding. It's tedium. If there were more than a dozen A-spec races, or if the races paid a decent amount of "money" then I'd be happy to earn it.

The fact that PD decided to substantially sully the gaming (see the word GAME) experience of thousands of players based on the false pride of a few just disappoints.

"I have grinded Indy more times than you! I am AWESOME!!!" Think about it.

Like? Hell no. This is the most upsetting thing to ever happen in game history. Oh yeah, and now I lost a green X2010, Chaparral 2J Race Car and Audi R8 Race Car '01.

People need to get this "grinding Indy is the only way to earn money" routine out of their head. There are plenty of ways to earn money running different races over again. People just choose to do Indy because hey what do you know, it's the easiest and quickest.

I myself have just run the races I enjoy several times, and have plenty of nice cars that I wanted to buy.

You have got to be freaking kidding me? You blame it on the whiners, and have you had a look at yourselves? This forum today is just full of people whining and moaning about this. The 'community' here has gone to pot.

Hail hail. These sort of whiners destroyed Killzone 2 online and I swear they'll do the same to KZ3.

Like someone else said earlier, quite a few ePenises have grown in length with this update. PD's stupidity astounds me.

Just to quote the truth again.

How does it help YOU, that I can't dupe cars?

I don't have the time, OR will, to grind/earn the expensive cars. They are already on the disc, which I paid for, so why shouldn't I be able to decide for myself how I play the game?
And how does it hurt you, that I cheat my way to expensive cars, and don't get a sense of accomplishment for doing so? I want the cars because guess what... I LIKE CARS!
I want a lot of them, but I honestly don't have the time or will to play the game for long enough to earn these cars. But I already paid for them. They're on the disc. So why can't I have them when I want to? And when I USED to be able to get them.
So how does it matter to you, how I got the cars? How does it matter to you, that I am having fun with cars that I like, but didn't have the time or will to earn - while you're still able to earn them the right way. Tell me that.

Somewhere in there forums I related Pokemon to GT5 with a literally perfect way to kill duping without any trade resrtictions. Did anybody listen when I posted it? No. But I'll post again just because it's relevant to this issue.

Yes, all cars should have a unique id.

But there is duping cars, then there's duping money. Duping money (which you already earned, use, then restore from backup) still allows you to get a free car per day. So even with this new restriction, if you buy a 999,999 credit car from the UCD, then do an engine rebuild, a chassis rebuild, and then fully modify - you are probably looking at over 2.25M credits that you can then get back for free.

ie. people can still dupe <2M credit cars, random car generating tickets, items, and paint.

I don't see what all the crying is about - you've had 3 months to win/procure every +1M credit car in the game - which was easily doable.

I really don't care. Though if they just trying to stop duping, they could have just implement one trade per PS3 only, no need for the one million limit.

I dont like it, i LOVE IT!

Finally, i dont get it why people say that duping doesn't affect us, because it did i used to trade before the duping started, then the market flooded with lots of x2010 and all the "rare cars" stoped being rare now they are common..

I started reading this and i almost cried laughing at how the dupers say poliphony digital sucks just because they restricted the "Gifting"..

By the way people are getting money with duping, check ebay do you think that is something PD wants to see? Someone wanting to sell X2010 for 50$?

I AGREE, and CAN'T BELIEVE PD didn't put an UNLOCK ALL CARS option in this game!!! Also, LET ME CHOOSE MY OWN LEVEL, I WANT TO BE at LVL 40 INSTANTLY!!! How does it affect you other guys... IT DOESN'T! I PAID FOR THIS GAME I AM ENTITLED FOR IT TO BE EXACTLY AS I WANT, NO WAY THE GAME DEVELPER SHOULD HAVE A SAY IN HOW I GET TO EXPERIENCE THE GAME!!!

I mean come on, they fixed something they never intended to be a part of the game.

btw how many cars in the game are actually over 1,000,000?

Remove trade limits, remove credit limit, remove level system, and reduce cost of cars.

That would be the perfect GT5 to me. Makes car collection and driving the focus, not grinding.

Or at least, give us a proper trading system.

Though if they just trying to stop duping, they could have just implement one trade per PS3 only, no need for the one million limit.

??? How would that stop duping?

1. Backup game
2. Send car to friend
3. Restore game from backup - restores original car, friend gets dupe

The system was abused, so it had to be taken away. People who have lost cars that were on a loan or whatever, you only have the dupers to blame.

I was about to hit the like button then it came to me like that now I've to grind the 1000 ticket to get my 0mileage Viper GTS-R Team Oreca #91 :/ *Dislike*
