POLL: Do You Like The <1,000,000 Cr. Gift Restriction?

Give it some weeks.
Every step is in the right direction
Once the kids and the scum leave we will have an even better game:tup:

Thanks for the laugh. It's still hard to believe some people think this is good. This is a step back more than anything. People who were too busy and people who didn't want to waste time and run their PS3s into the ground by grinding were able to enjoy the game more thanks to duping. Now those people are left with squat.

How can anyone 'like' the new restriction if it does't affect themself but breaks the game for others? Do you enjoy other people's disappointments? Does that make you happy?

I really don't understand you people.

Well as I said when I explained why I liked it, it was annoying going into a public room with people running around in their X2010s that they aren't able to drive.

By getting the cars the proper way they get better at the game so the experience for all is improved online.

In GT4 I was still getting new cars three years later. Gran Turismo isn't and has never been a sprint.

It is said that picture speaks 1000 words :D

Exactly 👍

There is nothing to understand...
You can't argue or understand a PD fundamentalist! They just worship whatever PD does!

It's obvious these people don't care about racing games, for them GT5's disc is a religious artifact to get in touch with their true god, PD!

And these people, like true fundamentalists, don't want blasphemous unbelievers, who just want to have some fun, to enjoy GT5!

It's sad... but true...

You mean the car that the game still gives you without doing any A-Spec races whatsoever?

You know... I'm probably as far away from a PD worshipping tool (I guess most people would consider me a GT hater or something), but for this, I can't bring myself to criticise PD for it.

That should have been the end of your post.
The rest of what you wrote showed us just what sort of frusrated little person you are.
Oh, I'm actually anything but frustrated right now. Amused would be more fitting.

But with or without me, this thread is bursting with frustration either way :D
As I said, in this case, I'm being a bad person for once. Guess I'll be hitting a few nerves, but that's quite fine with me.

I don't like this at all, it's ruined the prizes for my Le Mans Championship on PSU. :(

I understand that they did this to stop people taking advantage of the gift option to get rare and expensive cars for free etc but at the end of the day it's only a game and I'm quite positive that they could've come up with another way to stop people abusing the gift option.

Utter utter 🤬

This limit was put in to stop duping. For months we've heard dupers telling us that their dodgy practices weren't harming anyone so we should stay out of it. Only an idiot would think that they wouldn't stamp down on it sooner or later - gaming companies do not want people accessing their content at such a fast rate.

So now duping has affected everyone.

It's interesting - dupers said "It's not cheating because it doesn't affect you" so, now it does stop me from passing cars back and forth to my friends and to my son, will you accept it's cheating now?

No, thought not.

Couldn't agree more 👍

You can't tell people how to play the game, trading was the only thing keeping this game fun for me,

Trading isn't the wrong way to play the game, it's fun and keeps things fresh
Have fun grinding for your cars lads.....

im not telling people how to play the game just how it should be played, by all means trade your cars but if your not good enough to win/buy the car try harder.....wel you'll have to now :):):)

Well, it doesn't really affect me.

But, as I said a few weeks back, I'll be laughing my rear off once PD prevents people from duping and so on.

Why am I this way, though?
1) People claiming that PD doesn't mind the glitching and duping and that it's not cheating, because they wouldn't allow it otherwise. Well, seems like that wasn't so true after all.

2) People claiming that it was the only way to get anywhere in GT5 while retaining a real life. Wasn't like that, isn't like that and, well, I can't help but laugh at people who feel the need to reason their actions like this; especially if they're besically telling everyone who doesn't do it their way that they can't possibly have a life.

3) People being smug about it in general. 'Oh, look, I've got ten X2010s, all of the expensive cars, wee, I'm so clever! Stupid non-dupers are stupid :sly:'.

Basically, I'm just being gleeful right now :D Yeah, that makes me a bad person. And I'm sorry for a few guys, I think. However, the general attitude of some 'dupers' I've been debating with makes me, well, enjoy being a bad person this time around.

Again, this restriction is not gonna hurt most of the dupers cause they already done their buisiness, it is the "normale ones beiing slapped yet again" no more grind to mid prized cars to get an exoensive one in trade for both others. So who wins? The day one dupers and Bdayers. This measure comes too late. So better leave it.

Because, and only because, PD killed a fly with a bazooka. Keep in mind that this update did two things: It made duping significantly harder to do (system and PSN ID limits rather than just ID limits), and furthermore put the cap on car value. Doing the former alone would have greatly limited duping. Doing the latter does nothing about duping, and was completely unnecessary for what PD wanted to accomplish.

Meh, the duping was still going strong, wasn't it? So, well, a few normal players got hit as well. Lost a bit of stuff to a friend myself, but I honestly think that stopping cheating (any kind of cheating) is a good thing, so yeah.

So does it stop duping??? Who said it was meant to stop duping? Maybe they just think that trading is wrong.

Get over it, buy/win your cars the proper way like the minority of us do...... Its a game, cant believe people are effin n blinding bout this....
*play the game the normal way
*buy/win your cars the normal way
*then drive it knowing the fact you've earnt it...

tell that to the people who busted their balls getting bronze in the vettel challenge; being less than half a second away from getting a bronze for hours, redoing and retrying and redoing and retrying the challenge for hours. them some numbnut comes along AFTER update v1.06 and bronzes the challenges being 5seconds off of the original bronze time but ends up getting the same award. Who can "then drive it knowing the fact you've earnt it"?? or even harder yet buying racing softs and $30k turbos for every car just to reach B-spec lvl 35?? letting some mindless computer "earn" them a prize car that somebody with actual skill drove to "earn"

So still the 1000000 doesnt keep you from duping it keps you from gifting 1000000 cars, which means cars that worth 1000000 when they have 0 miles onthe clock, so an audi tt-r with 24000 from Ucd for 99... Can not be traded.

Is that what you wanted? Did you never trade a car?

Besides, earning a nice car rather than having it given to you makes it more special.

This is the part I have a problem with.
I really don't care about duping, one way or the other, but to have so many "rare" variations of cars that hardly ever show up in the UCD, has absolutely nothing to do with "earning a nice car".

I have more than enough credits to buy the cars I want, the problem is I can't find the cars I want. It's rather frustrating that there are cars that I have never seen in the 2000+ game days that I've been playing, and having the OCD loaded with the same stuff I'm constantly sifting through in my UCD doesn't help matters at all.

Trading was looking like the only way I was going to finally get some of the cars I was looking for. I honestly don't understand the idea of putting cars in a game, if they make it nearly impossible to obtain them. Again, not talking about "earning" them, whether by earning the money or earning them with skill.

Getting some of these cars has been left to blind luck.

Since I am 90% interested in the LM cars, it has pretty much killed any hope of trading for the cars I can't find anywhere else in the game. Not very happy with the price limit on trades.

Oh, I know Luminis, my comment was not targeted at you. :)

I know you are one of the few in these forums who sees the many flaws of GT5! Most here don't and some are even starting to have delusions and hallucinations, like those who think that in 1.06 PD made the standard cars look better or fixed the awful shadows and smoke effects! Hell, some people even thought that PD added new section at tracks!

Those are the fundamentalists I was referring to... :dunce:

My mistake was that I still hoped that GT5 could be fixed and become a decent racing game. I was wrong and I am not hoping any more. I was never into the whole buy/upgrade thing in GT5 or in any other driving/racing game. I was using an alternate PSN account to buy cars for free, technically I wasn't duping. I found that this was the fastest way to get the cars I wanted without boring myself to death in the hideous A-Spec mode and the crazy bore-fest that is B-Spec! 👎

I would have preferred to have all cars unlocked in Arcade mode! Just like all racing games do when you progress enough. PD doesn't provide that and "duping" was the only workaround. Now it's gone! 👎

To be honest I don't care anymore. I have stopped playing and "duping" cars in GT5 as I was fed up with it's flaws and it was getting extremely boring and unexciting! I have better racing games/sims than GT5 which are more fun and more realistic. Even greater racing games are coming soon!

So I don't care anymore, PD can do whatever they want with GT5, I am done with it... :)

I just regret paying full price for a buggy, boring game that is getting worse...
I won't do the same mistake again with anything developed by PD...

Yup 👍👍👍

Yet again the X1 aint no car and in my opinion should never made it to GT5. I mean is every blueprint that claims to be 15000000 hp strong and theoretically glue to the road gonna maje it un gt6 now. I may gonna start designing my own car right away and send it to kaz.

You know what they say: You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

PD probably could fix lots of stuff, but every fix seems to have its downside. Such is the way of Polyphony Digital :D

Is that what you wanted? Did you never trade a car?
Traded? No, actually, I didn't. I lended a few cars to my girlfriend, which I can't get back now, that's it. I probably wouldn't have demanded them back either way, though :D

And what I personally wanted? PD to act against duping. Don't care how they do it, actually.

I'm mostly fine with this except for one thing: cars degrade over time-- even with overhauls. So this makes me not want to drive some of my cars. If they don't allow trading of expensive cars, at least make the expensive cars as good as new with overhauls.

I had that feeling, but has it been officially announced?? Another good reason not to make my bobs ruin my big mercs in enduro races, so glad i got that dumb X1 for the dirty work then. Ok guess that gives the X1 a right to be in the game.

too much restrictions in this game!!
-1 car gift at day
-20 milions credit limit
-not possible to load a savedata on other account(same PS3)
-ecc ecc

and now 1,000,000 Cr. Gift Restriction.... I don't understand, don't understand!!
