At first, I was disappointed. Earth, me, and a number of others have waxed endlessly here on how much better a GT6 on PS4 would have been. And still would be. All that power available to Kaz and the team makes my head swim from the potential.

Well there is a positive about the GT6 coming to PS3, which is:

GT7 will be better than the SO FAR promising improvements PD are implementing for GT6 on that meager hardware.

I would have been all over the PS4 of course, I'm still likely gonna buy it at launch or within the first few months and wait out the GT7 & Project Cars announcements. I think Holiday 2014 we will get the PS4 version... it should be a very similar, yet totally different gaming experience (yes, a contradiction can be manipulated to exist :))

I'm baffled. Still. But don't really care anymore. They have stated their reasons and they are understandable, I guess.

I'm very happy it is coming to PS3, as it means i don't have to find even more money to buy a PS4 at launch. :)

Ahh thank you for sharing your thoughts everyone. So far the votes are lookin hot.

I'm starting to believe having GT6 on PS3 was the best choice after all! :D Lets hope for more members to share their thoughts and cast in their votes, things are lookin really good. 👍

Keep watch for more GTP members folks, here on GTPlanet. :gtpflag:

At the start I was thrilled with it being a PS3 title, now with things like no improvments in damage ,sounds,A.I I'm starting to be let down.

creatively

Not sure how creativity and efficiency are related you'll have to explain that one.

91% either in favour of GT6 on PS3 or don't care. I find that very surprising...lol.

It may have been said already, but personally I am grateful PD is not forcing me to cough up several hundred $ to play GT6. 👍
Eyes open, knowing full well that will not be the case for GT7.

It'll be a couple years before I get a PS4 so yes, I am happy. Plus, they need to figure out (or simply remember) how to make a fun game again -- doing this while learning a whole new system would be silly.

I'm extremely happy that GT6 is on PS3. My PS3 is only a little over a year old and I don't want to spend another $400+ on a new console.

I love it! It means 1: I don't have to pay a premium launch price for a new console and 2: by the time GT7 comes out maybe I can get a PS4 GT package for about 1/2 the launch cost 👍 With the price of PC hardware these days, there is no way I am paying full launch cost for a game console.

I'd rather play GT6 on my PS3, which is still working fine, than being forced into buying a PS4 at launch. By the time GT7 comes out on PS4 the prices would've dropped, maybe a slim version would've been released also, so I'm happy to wait.

The whole point of getting a PS4 was going to be for this game but now it's being released on the PS3 and I honestly don't like what I've seen so far... so now what?

No, it's bit of a waste. The game would have been better off using the PS4 to really optimize physics and the racing experience. It will still probably be a good game on PS3, but the hardware is going to keep it from competing with the best sims.

GT6 on PS4 with an install base of zero to start with.

Your point is valid, but there is never an install base of zero.

I can't say that anymore. I used to be with you and Earth - without his sourpuss attitude, but after seeing the Silverstone reveal, reading the eye-opening impressions of seasoned race game players and journalists who compare the early demo to some of the best PC sims, and seeing the amazing videos, I think it will be relevant in the face of next gen competition.

Apparently damage is still going to be limp, and the PS3 likely can't do a whole lot more for night lighting, but for the rest, I'm frankly stunned at what PD have been able to pull off. And without so much as a drop in resolution, which I was certain they'd have to start with in their to-fix list.

And we've only been given the teaser list. Kaz has a lot to unveil in the upcoming game conventions, so I expect to be a happy racer.

Unhappy. GT6 could've been so much more on the PS4. It seems like they had to yank GT6 by the leash and hold it back just to run on the PS3.

But in the end, I'll still buy it.

I haven't read too much of the impressions, but often they don't go into a terribly huge amount of detail. It wouldn't surprise to hear that they are good, but if the claim is made that GT6 is as good as everything I'd like to see that in numbers.

And of course, even if that's true, on PS4 you could always increase the physics frequency, the number of cars, or other similar things.

Why the rush, PS4 will get its GT7, and then it will be worth the wait. Now let them do a great job a GT6 on PS3. People wanting GT6 for PS4 are ahead of time. Waaayyy too ahead of time.

Happy because I don't need to buy a ps4 at launch but at the same time I would hsved loved a next gen GT game but I guess we'll just have to wait. It's not like we aren't used to waiting on PD.

I've said the very same things. Just take night lighting. PS4 is going to be more powerful than most gaming PCs, and with a good gaming rig, the graphics are stellar. Imagine racing on a course like a Tuscana, SS11 or La Sarthe at night, with every street light and flood lamp casting realistic lighting, gleaming off car bodies, wiping out shadows and illuminating the landscape for hundreds of feet in a realistic way. And each car casting a lifelike headlight beam, or a good number of them on camera.

With a field of 24 cars or more, say 32, we could have proper multiclass racing, and imagine such a race that you would have to fight like mad to get three-quarters of the way up the field, never mind a podium finish.

Having a friend online who is more skillful than you complete a license test that is giving you fits.

Imagine a Course Maker that includes terrain building and HD asset placement like racing stands of various types, and with templates, enabling you to recreate almost any race course imaginable.

I still want Gran Turismo on PS4 for these and many more reasons, but the game is looking like a serious next gen racer, not just GT5 with a big patch.

I really can't understand why anyone would have an issue with GT6 released for the PS3.

The PS4 is a stronger console but it is also new which means they would need more time to release GT6 in the same state that it will be for the PS3 given that most of that code was already written when they started GT6. Changing it for another platform = time making it better than what is going to be released takes more time so the choice is that we can have GT6 now on the PS3 or we could wait a while longer and get a GT6 in the same state for the PS4 or wait longer and get a better release of GT6. Then again we could get GT6 now on the PS3 and a better GT later for the PS4 called GT7

Of course if people want it for the PS4 due to the upgraded console why not ask for it for the PC instead. No console touches a good PC. Playstation sales would drop but GT sales would be through the roof

@ HBR, a couple of things.

Coding for PS3 and porting to other systems is fairly simple. It's porting to PS3 which is hard. And PS4 is architecturally very similar to the PCs the developers like PD are using to build their games. For PS4, now they just code to the system they use, minus the annoying Windoze OS.

And while PC gaming is making a rebound, many of us just don't like PC gaming. The reason PC devs are trying to get into the console market is because that's where the real money is. The PC gaming market isn't rivaling Hollywood for entertainment spending, it's console gaming.

Even if the porting is simple it still requires time but if simple then maybe we will see GT7 on the PS4 sooner rather than later. Would be nice.

I do not know why some would not like PC gaming now that TVs can handle Computer input and show a decent picture.

I think the biggest reason for some games going to console and the drop off in PC games sold is more related to Torrents and other such methods of getting/distributing pirated software.

Pretty much every game I have ever played that had a PC version was better on the PC than on any console and in some cases in is a very big difference with the PC on top. In others it is a small difference but the only advantages I have saw with a console since the first VGA cards were for kids to play, to be able to connect to the tv for a bigger picture the console is cheaper than a computer that is about it.

Today however pretty much everyone has a computer, most TVs can be connected to a computer there many more options for games and game controllers with the computer, computers are faster and have much more storage capacity and the list goes on.

Of course games like GT will never show up on the PC due to the sales of playstations but if it did that would be the one that I would buy without a moments hesitation and be thrilled to get it.
