Now we're talking ;)

Just checked the WEC and IMSA grid, seems like the BMW and Ferrari are the only almost identically named cars as there's the Porsches (911 RSR GTE vs. 911 GT3 R) left plus Corvette (recently discussed) and Ford (don't know about any GT3 spec)

Anyway, I'm hoping for more "twins", Porsche GT3 Cup cars maybe..
Aston Martin has a GTE and GT3 car. The old gen GTE Porsche is similar to the GT3 variant but the current gen GTE car is mid-engine so it's quite a bit different. I have a feeling we'll get the 2017 Porsche GTE car. I said the two are similar, but in reality the GTE rule book is more open and the cars usually have a lot more tuning options than GT3.

I never said that, but why do think someone in chase cam can not have as much fun or have that much of an intense as anybody else?
I didn't say they couldn't have as much fun or an intense experience. I said that it couldn't be as immersive an experience. That's just common sense. A racing game is simulating racing a car. In real life a car is raced by sitting in it (until driverless car racing takes off) therefore by definition cockpit cam is more immersive than chase cam. Doesn't necessarily means it's more fun, that depends on the person playing the game. Everyone should play the game the way they want.

I used to race in chase cam when I first started gaming over 30 years ago, I couldn't drive in cockpit view. But then I bought a wheel and got more interested in the immersive side of it. Now I can't drive in chase cam to save my life! Which view we use doesn't make any of us better or worse than anybody else. We should all play the way we want.

FYI I hate chase cam but I'm the last person to tell other people how to race.

If I hate cockpit view it doesn't if I have stage 4 or not I'm am going to hate the racing which means no immersion.

Some people think if you don't have triples you have nothing, where is the line?

It's been fun but i'm gone

The line is wherever the individual who is playing the game draws it ;)

My argument was never about which was more fun or which people should use. It was only about immersion.

Everyone has very strong opinions and won't ever agree. That's ok though.
Which is what I stated already a few pages back.

Btw, why would I want to use chase cam, a.e, in a car sim? I want to simulate what it is to be in the car, not a bird :)

Again, I chose not to participate in a league that doesn't meet my requirements. No one can blame me as I don't blame anyone that don't share my pov so I just move anywhere else.

BTW, small fov on small screen never stopped me to race fair in cockpit view. If anything I took it as a challenge and some here might remembered from PS3 days even.
To close my comments here and to make it clear, the closer I get to reality, the better and I do thanks Devs the time they devoted on thing like live track, weather, sounds and graphics pushing technology to their limits so I ans others can have a simulated experience as close as possible to reality one can afford.
Ps: thanks for keeping this civil. As I said before, kudos to all

STAGE 4 OR BUST

It's very exciting to think of the possibilities that league racing will be afforded by PCars 2.
Which comes back to my question about which console(I'm not getting a PC) will have the better online community?

Hard to know. Probably best to look at your friends list and work out which list will have the most people on it who buy the game. Or if you are planning on getting involved in races on here I would imagine PS4 would be the best bet.

Might be a question best asked over on the official forum ( http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/forum.php ). Might also be worth looking at sales figures for each console to see which one has the higher total population. I know that the GT based community was always pretty strong. But that is obviously a PS exclusive.

There's definitely more PS4 leagues than XBOX on gtplanet.

Although that's because GTP's headline game is GT which is on Playstation only.

PS4 for sure

Its what I figured, because I can even see the difference between consoles in the GTA V community.
Then, Forza is different once again. However, how many people from both will get PC2 is that major question. I'm gettjn the game day one. So, I might just get a PS4 and both games.

I used to own a 360 and a PS3 and the Xbox crowd was definitely younger. I don't know if it stayed the same going to the current gen games. The more serious sims like pCars don't seem to have that young player base like arcade games do. If I remember correctly I also believe the split on console sales for pCars 1 was heavily biased towards PS4.

If it helps Wiki states that in the first week, these were the percentages.
Wikipedia
In the first week of physical sales in the UK, Project CARS sold 63 percent of its total on the PlayStation 4 console, with 31 percent on the Xbox One and 6 percent on the PC.[74] By 5 June 2015, the game had sold one million copies.[75] By October 2016, the game had sold 2 million units.[76] The game is going to be made free from February 16 - March 16, 2017 with the Xbox Free Games with Gold program.
