@Georgeagea

Thanks for testing it out. I was pretty sure the problem wasn't related to my equipment or setup, but that confirms it.
It's a shame that this "enhanced framerate" mode is so poorly implemented, as it would be a nice option for people that prefer a smooth framerate and/or for people with 1080p screens.
I don't understand how this problem isn't more talked about or why it hasn't been properly addressed by the developer.

I game on two different TVs: a 65'' 4K HDR and a 40'' 1080p. The problem is perfectly visible in both.

The different modes are where you make your decision about tradeoffs... It's pretty unrealistic to expect a mode called 'Enhanced Framerate' to not introduce a reduction in some other aspect of the game - there's only so much horsepower available. Just like a car, you can't tune for better acceleration and then expect the same top end performance, or fuel consumption, etc.. You are deciding what's important to you.

For me, the few times the framerates really annoy me (certain day/dusk/night/dawn transitions and some weather conditions) aren't worth the times the jaggies and resolution annoy me, so I run Enhanced Resolution all the time.

Same here.
Although I'm not a graphics fanatic, I can't run enhanced framerate/graphics since it's way too grainy for my liking. And I wanna feel that I have a PS4 pro, not a PS2, that's why I only use enhanced resolution.

I understand the modes and the inherent trade-offs and I never said I wasn't expecting a reduction in quality.

The concept isn't even new.

Know what's more shocking then the fact there hasn't been a update in over 3 months is the fact there doesn't seem to be any outrage about it.

They said from the beginning that the regular patch+DLC cycle will be trimestrial.
Both, patch 7 and the Ferrari DLC will come very soon most likely.

It‘s just a shame really, that we probably won’t get any additional DLC to extend the lifetime of Pcars 2. Despite Codemaster‘s F1 series I think that’s it for this console generation.
As we are hearing from second hand sources a third PCars is unlikely, if it happens at all then not in the foreseeable future. Kunos has been deliberately vague about plans for ACC on consoles, I don’t think it will happen. As confirmed throughout the Gamescom saga, GTR3 is vaporvare. Did I miss any interesting announcements?
Well, we had a good run. The quality of racing games on the PS4 far exceeds what we had on the PS3, it definately opened my eyes for what‘s lingering beyond Gran Turismo. Just compare Supercar Challenge to Assetto Corsa. Or NfS: Shift to Project Cars. Let’s see what the PS5 has in store for us!

That would be a great shame! I very much hope that we do get another Season Pass - the extra cars and tracks would extend the life of the game. A further year of updates adding polish, debugging and a handful of extra features such as custom championships could really take this game to the next level.

Wreckfest will be out on consoles in a couple of months and that looks pretty fun, been a while since I've played anything other than pCARS so might give it a shot.

Time for a avatar change 👍

What modern oval track could sms add to the game that's similar to classic monza oval?
As it's a classic oval that goes off a road course and not the other way around, there aren't any.

Looking at Wiki, it's a ~2.5 mile oval with 30-degree banking and that's closest to Talladega. It just has a tri-oval instead of 2 turns joined with straights with ~ 30-degree banking and it's as long.

Based on banking and layout, I would say Dover. It's the same layout and the closest I could find based on banking at 24 degrees with the same layout. It's just 1-mile instead of 2.6.

Does anybody have an idea on where the Reynard/Lola IndyCar rumour for PC1 came from?

From my memory, it came from SMS thinking of making look alikes of those cars to fill the roster. This was probably 2012 or so that this was talked about. I didn't know the public knew about the possibility.

After looking around in various places, I actually remembered a picture which included various categories including IndyCar/NASCAR/Super Touring/USAC and Classic IndyCar. I can't find the image but I do remember seeing something like that on there.

Bought PCars 2 for PS4 while it was on discount today. I downloaded the game however when I go to play I can't do anything except drive on Long Beach with the 720S McLaren. Theres a separate download bar at the bottom of the main menu screen which is taking ages to complete.

Any help?

Edit: Upon further inspection, I found that the game let's you pre-play before the game is completely done downloading :dunce:

Yeah. The game is installing. I had that when NBA 2K was free with PS+ one month. You can either wait or repeatedly drive at Long Beach.

All games are like that. There's a certain amount needed to install before you can start the application but it's like 25% so they give you a limited selection while the rest downloads.

I think PC2 lacks game modes. The insane amount of content is a bit wasted.

Custom championship mode would be like manna from heaven. I would gladly pay 25-35 euros for that and a second season pass.

So would I!

Personally I'm not very interested in the Career within the game - I'm a fan of classic and historic race cars so those are the ones I want to use. A Historic Career would be nice and eminently feasible with the car list.

I would love a custom championship mode - it's what I would use for practising for online racing - I would like to be able to select the cars and liveries to race against.

Custom championship mode would be like manna from heaven. But, hey, Why adding it if you can charge 70 euros more with PC3?

Can't agree with this much more, since I haven't bought the first season pass let's say 60 euros for season pass 1 and 2 and custom championship mode. But it simply isn't happening. The lack of a custom championship mode and the lack of friends playing this game reduces my playing time in this game a lot.

Since the release of F1 2018 I haven't touched it since I started a career there and play an online championship with some friends. My new hype for F1 will disappear while my love for PC2 lasts but it lacks this little extra to keep me hooked. Custom championship would change this but unfortunately no game with relative content has this.

You can play a race weekend, with preset configurations of car categories, or config all your way, then you have practice mode, special events, career mode with invitational events, online mode, custom online championships mode...

I don't can say that the game lacks modes, features and options .... It got more than assetto, GTS and others...

The offline custom championship of assetto for example I didn't used it twice... With offline race weekend I got more than enough.

About PC3... No word about it, I don't even expect it before the next generation of consoles..with PC2 PS4 and Xbox one base consoles are on their limits, and neither Sony and Microsoft wants that a developer makes a game exclusively for their upgraded consoles PS4 Pro and Xbox one X.

Before adding any new mode in PC2 , i prefer that they put the effort to polish the game and iron out bugs and issues.
An second season pass will be welcomed if they extend the the update support.

But I really don't see the amount of features, options and content wasted..all can be enjoyed offline and in online leagues

BTW... If all the games on the market have the same modes and all... Why buy others? Variety is nice and each game offers something that others don't have...

Today you want fast online racing with matchmaking... GTS is your friend.

Today you want to enjoy racing online or offline with a lot of features, options and content.. PC2 is your friend.

Today you just want to enjoy driving or do a custom off-line championship... Assetto is your friend.

And so on:tup::cheers:

At the moment I'm just enjoying the fact that I have to battle just to get in the top 10 against the AI if I start towards the back & defend against them if I start towards the front.

I like that the AI are better on some corners compared to me as it makes me plan my attack/defence throughout the lap

I like that I might only pass 1 car per lap at a few places on any track & if I mess it up I have to wait for the next opportunity.

Yes we all race to win but would I like it to go back to chase the rabbit? No :)

Edit: however, I don't like that when I win by 0.7s only to be reminded by the race results afterwards that I got a 3s penalty & get knocked off the podium :(
