Thing is though, if PC2 had issues on the base Xbox & PS4 because of the cpu limitations & they haven't taken anything away from PC3 regarding the underlying physics, it's still going to have issues on the base consoles, meaning you'll need an X or pro to run it properly again, (which most people have probably got now tbh).

I'm on a 1X so I never experienced any of this btw.

Surprised this isn't a next gen launch game, but I'm sure it'll be upgraded for them at some point.
Reiza seems to have been able to optimise the Madness engine to get Automobilista 2 running very well. Throw in the extra weight of Codies and they may have just got more out of it than they could before.

I thought it was both regarding to many cars on track either in the night or during thunderstorms, my mistake.
You are right, certain conditions really affect framerate, and the anti aliasing is almost non existent too. I'm thinking of holding fire until I have a PS5 and hope ACC keeps me busy for a few months until then.

The reactions they received is probably not what they are expecting, And it probably caught them offhand.

Unfortunately there is a 65% negative reactions...
They really should address the concerns.

If they have the goods, why don't they show us more ?

Don't they want to sell the game to the most gamers as possible? By the looks of things, yes that's their intent but they are doing it in a way thats alienating their core fans.......

I disagree. Where I've sat there's been an overwhelmingly positive reaction to this, with some pockets of hardcore sim racers being disgusted by the prospect of an accessible for all racing game.

I dont think they're alienating their supposed core fans anyway (assuming you mean SIM enthusiasts by core fans). The problem is, a lot of these 'core fans' aren't reading the previews and articles which are all saying that the difficulty and the sim aspects you love are still there.

And they absolutely need to sell it to the most gamers possible. The 'core fans' won't keep this series afloat because its actually quite a niche group, which has a good chunk of games fighting for thay core crowd, AMS2, AC, ACC, rfactor 2, raceroom etc (most are PC but that is where I feel a majority of aim enthusiasts will be based), and while they will still probably buy all the sim games anyway, majority of gamers, casuals etc, will want to be reassured immediately that this game is going to appeal to them and be something they can pickup and play and actually have fun with.

Particularly as its been a long time since FM7, with car collecting and modifying etc, theres a big casual crowd hungry for this type of experience to come. And I'm seeing a hugely positive reaction throughout my social media feeds and in various previews and so on.

I'm sure in the coming days or weeks we will see some videos focusing on the more SIM aspects, if its due to launch within the next few months j expect influencers like Jimmy Broadbent, TeamVVV, Tiametmarduk etc will get seeded builds and then we will start seeing the bigger picture.

A very simple answer is that they didn't actually intend for that video to drop when it did, the entire marketing campaign had been moved back due to world events, however, the Playstation channel either didn't get the memo or forgot and dropped the video on us.

As such the marketing department at Namco now has t play catch-up and to a degree damage limitation.
I’m not sure about that. Rushy was teasing it just a few days before.

Maybe, but he didn’t retract his statement.
I've edited in an article from The Sixth Axis that confirms that the PS Channel dropped the video early and that none of the other channels or websites (including BN and SMS) had anything up at the time.

It really doesn't;t matter if he didn't retract it, that doesn't;t change the fact that the Playstation channel dropped the video earlier that they should, and ahead of any information from BN or SMS.

"The announcement has dropped a little earlier than planned – Sony published the trailer on YouTube, but it’s not up on any other channels just yet, so I’m sure Bandai Namco are dead chuffed with them – but we have more in depth thoughts and impressions of Slightly Mad Studios’ latest that we’ll share over the next day or two."

Which makes it rather clear than an embargo was still in place when the trailer dropped.

I am becoming cautiously excited. Yes, the marketing for the reveal was geared directly toward opening this up to the masses but from everything I am reading from people who work at SMS, they are still 100% making a sim focused game. Yes with their track record (no pun intended) it's hard to trust anything, but I think there is enough to say it's still a sim.

The same, the more I hear, the more it makes sense.

On a related note, I actually fired up the original NFS Shift on my old fat PS3 last night. You can see all of the master corner stuff in that and how its come across to PC3, and I have to say as a title it's better than I remember.

You know no one has been able to test the game yet, right?

All the media have simply been commenting on what Bandai Namco and Slighty Mad Studios have told them and giving their impressions based on what they have seen in the same videos that we have seen.

So I don't know why you mention this when it's an argument that's worthless.

Well here goes the best trailer I've seen about project shift 3...

Sorry... just can't accept they named it project "community assisted racing simulator" (c.a.r.s) 3 throwing all goodness they achieved with the 2 real first project cars

Its hardly worthless. These are statements coming from the mouths of the developers themselves (nothing to do with Bandai namco) in countless interviews and prebiews with multiple outlets. They're hardly going to lie about retaining the sim aspect. They haven't scrapped the physics engine that underpins the game, they have added different layers of control assists to open it up to casual gamers.

Its very clear and very worthwhile reading it if your struggling to come to terms with the games direction.

Ian Bell just posted this link on Twitter.
As expected, you get bonus XP for turning off assists. Really don't fancy the tyre screeching sound though, hope that gets changed in the final version

Also just noticed that the pits are still closed. Just pointing that out...

Driving physics looks nice. I’m not sure if it is a low FPS video, but I can see that blur making me sick.

I really hope this gets patched for next gen consoles, online racing doesnt jump and stutter when people join, i hope they release a finished game with little to no bugs. I also have realistic expectations. Hope the codemasters input means all the above will be met, because this game fromthe looks of the trailer looks to yet another arcady racer on which il pass.

I know, but allow myself to doubt the words of people like Mr. Bell after what happened in previous games.

Until we have the game we will not know completely, for now we will have to draw conclusions with the videos they have released.

It kinda reminds me of GT4.
I'm getting very excited for this game.

Starting as a weekend warrior and working your way up to a race car driver.
It's going to be fun!
