April 2nd is a Monday. That doesn't make sense.
April 2nd is a Thursday. Which also doesn't make sense.

The delay sucks, but atleast it's not a GT5 scale delay, and will actually be worth the wait.

Let me guess, along with "polishing", is it also to not be released the same day as Battlefield Hardline? So for North America would it be released on Tuesday? Also, is this the OFFICIAL, non-changeable release date or is this game going to be delayed another 3-5 months because for some reason I have a feeling that April will turn to May, and then to June, etc.

The numbers don't support your position, in the GT series at least. I used GT5 as an example because it sold 10 million copies. The numbers for GT6 were worse until QM came along. There were often nights even just a few months after release, with less than 100 open lobbies. Those numbers clearly indicate that the preferred method of play is vastly in the offline camp.

You do realise not everybody plays online at the same time you do right? Those hundred lobbies are representative of that minute, maybe 10/20 minutes, but let's say an hour. The next hour 100 different lobbies are created, as the sun rises and falls around the world peak times see peak traffic in your respective time zone but that continues, hour after hour, long after you go to work or hit the hay.

Besides games console players are a lot better connected than they used to be too. It really isn't worth owning next gen if you're not online. It's designed from the ground up to be a media hub with the most popular social sites built in to every function.

All of that is bye the bye anyway, for me at least i know I will have very good online experiences because I will create them. Picking and choosing my friends wisely, joining an organised community and driving with folk who abide by a race code. There really is no need to jump in and cross your fingers for a good race, everything is in place to have a great one every time.

All I hope for is that the online component be fully realised in delivering a solid platform on which to race. (on consoles) Project Cars deserves that

Cheer up, mate, it's only two weeks :)

Anyway, since the most cited delay on the web from November 21 to March 17 was made out to be 5 months (it was 4 of course, for those who know how to count...), most people will now get it two weeks early by that metric :D

Why?????? Just why. I'm tired of these delays, just release a first month patch, not delay the game.

I feel like a dog with a master showing me a treat and it nearly getting to my mouth and then then the master snatches it back  for 3 monthd and now 2 more weeks will the "treat" be shown again.
First impressions bro.

Release a ****** game, it get returned.

Pretty sure a few university/college studies show something like 80% purchases are "casual". Which means they won't care about what it would look like in a month, or hell, even a week.

Pretty sure that's what practically killed the GT franchise, from selling more of a $60 demo than most full games ever do, to less than half of that in a year's time about.

And to add even more to that, the AI has been tweaked further since that video was made and their awareness should be increased further - which is especially great for open wheelers, as they are now less bumping into you when driving those, while still rubbing doors in tin tops.

On the positive note, these changes that FLX was talking about showed up in the builds today (along with some better behavior at race starts)! Looks like it solved the open-wheeler issues. That was one of my biggest problems with AI until now, so all that delay time is paying off.

Same as last time, if it's in the best interest of the game, I'm all for it. But sure glad it's only two weeks, because I don't want to wait any longer!

2 WEEKS THAT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE OFF WITH THEIR HEADS

Yeah, the headline made it sound way more worse than it actually is. Not saying you don't have a right to be disappointed by it, but I certainly don't see how you can equate a 3 month delay with this really.

@Johnnypenso is gonna be sad:lol:

Looks like the Project Car won't be ready for the next meet

I'm still under the notion of rather they release a finished and working game than quickly getting some buggy piece that not even Target Mortein will save with a day one patch.

However, with all these delays now there should be no excuses by SMS from now on
