@Johnnypenso is gonna be sad:lol:

I'm still under the notion of rather they release a finished and working game than quickly getting some buggy piece that not even Target Mortein will save with a day one patch.

However, with all these delays now there should be no excuses by SMS from now on
I'd rather it be done properly than released early and be buggy and incomplete. Hard to be disappointed though when you've got Assetto Corsa, Game Stock Car, Wreckfest, Spintires and a half a dozen other games to play:D:D. There is no shortage of quality driving/racing games on the pc.

I only have Assetto Corsa, and I'm not disappointed. It will give me more time to enjoy AC 1.1 with the coming optimisations. woohoo. :) Plus on AC, I had an excellent 10 lap, 28 car race at Road America today (not the 2.5.2 just out) where the AI behave well and race hard. Set at 95% I just managed to take and hold the lead, but the guy behind pushed so dammed hard. Sometimes the AC AI can be outstanding. I've had a few races like this now, le Sarthe, Watkins, Suzuka and Spa and didn't win them all but had great quality close racing. Admittedly I have had the usual disasters with them too, but to be fair, they can be exceptionally good too. Just hope we get to do longer than 10 laps soon as it sucks.

...Pretty sure a few university/college studies show something like 80% purchases are "casual". Which means they won't care about what it would look like in a month, or hell, even a week. ...
In this case though, the publisher cares...

Not even a crumb of information about Wii U in the Q&A? I think it would be best for me to take a step back from all this. I've been way too invested in the game lately, for something that doesn't even have a quarter release window. I was sure Andy would have some reply to my question, considering the headlines he made regarding the Wii U version a year ago, but he didn't have a single thing to say, even any one thing they've implemented with the GamePad? He could have thrown out a simple answer like, "it'll play radio messages on the controller's speakers like the PS4 controller does", so to remain silent is forboding, even with the optimism I've held onto.

I've been patient, watching the rest of you guys fret over the delays, knowing I could still be waiting for months...and I can wait longer. If it's the game it promises to be -- if anything, my purchase will be very well-informed -- I'm okay with that. However, I have to admit that I've been too hyped. Now that has deflated, because I assured myself Andy would have something to share, which was a mistake.

I don't know, maybe one of the WMD members could pass along my sentiment, if you please. I'm aware SMS has their hands full with the PS4/XBone/PC versions for now, and I wish them all the best on the April launch. But when the other versions are so close, total silence regarding the Wii U version breeds skepticism. It's no wonder it's frequently forgotten about in press previews. Throw us a bone?

If any of you think this is much ado over nothing considering I have no other options -- that's true of this game regardless. Gran Turismo is lost and confused, and Forza has become watered down. Other PC sims are a fraction of the overall package PCARS is, and rely upon a crude patchwork of mods. Among racing sims, PCARS is gearing up to be the only system-seller for any platform as far as I'm concerned. Even if the Wii U version is cancelled, I still have very few reasons to buy one of the x86 twins. I'd have to build a PC to play, and that would be sub-optimal on several levels, no matter what the "master race" thinks.

I know one thing they want to bring to the Wii U as an added feature is the ability to use the switchgear of the car on the touchscreen of the gamepad, steering wheel buttons in GT/LMP cars, stalks on the road cars, etc.

@DG_Silva -- They've thrown around ideas, but I was hoping Andy would share something they've already got working in the game, a little tidbit to prove it's progressing, and that development hasn't been completely shelved since last summer/fall. I thought I wasn't asking for much, which is why a response of "no comment" is slightly worrying.

I was already pretty sure he'd have no comment on the question, "how soon?"

THink of it this way, which is better: No delay but a buggy launch and a patch about two weeks down the path to fix things, of a two week delay and a properly functioning launch? Though there might still be a small day 1 patch, not sure.

Is it just me or has there been little or no media about this game?? I mean like commercials...In my little corner of the USA I havent seen anything about this game other than race orientated websites like this....Shouldn't there be more hype about this game??.....I personaly dont need anymore since Ive already pre-ordered but for anybody else that scrools down the release date sheet and see Project Cars they might think its a Disney movie

I'm guessing since this is a budget title they are putting most of the money they raised into the game itself and are hoping the word-of-mouth advertising will be enough to get them into the black.

I hope Sony helps SMS with promoting the game. It is going to be the only serious racer on the PS4, GT7 might not come out until late 2016. Although it is not a PS4 exclusive the PS4 apparently is a lot faster than the XBO and should end up with the best out all console versions, so it could be a system seller for Sony.

Speaking only of myself, the only reason I didn't buy a PS4 for this game (as most of my friends who are going to get this game, will do so for PS4), was the stupid Thrustmaster-only support...

I understand your worries and a day before putting the article up, I requested an explanation as to why the Wii U questions were skipped. Ofcourse, he hasn't got back to me yet. Honestly, I wanted to hold back on the interview publication until I got an answer pertaining to the Wii U. But since it was already immensely delayed, and there were quite a few looking forward to it, I decided to put it up.

Regardless, I'll try and find out what's going on really. Hang in there bud.

Regarding the WiiU Version, keep im mind that Nintendo enforces the most strict NDA policies in the industry. It is very well possible that SMS isn't allowed to talk about any development specifics as well as release dates if they are not a 100% certain.

Exactly Wilfried, this goes with every single Software Product out there. I guess software development is too abstract for most people to recogize how difficult and amazing the work is that all the talented developers and artists do just for our enjoyment!

I going to stop reading this sub forum for a while . I'm so disheartened at the comments made by people towards SMS and the game. You wouldn't be saying that if you knew just how much they have put on the line to make this game.
Don't take it personal man, it's just the way the interwebz works, so don't feel bad. 👍 And it will get a lot worse in the upcoming weeks and after release. Even if it will be the second coming of Christ, there will always people who think it's complete crap/doesn't meet their expectations. And they will vent it that way. It's the same for every game/release. So there's going to be plenty more. ;)

As a developer, you can't win this situation, ever. If you communicate (SMS) you'll get flashback, if you don't communicate (PD) you also get flashback. If you delay, people will rant about the delay. If you don't, people will rant about an incomplete/buggy game. Pick your poison. ;) It's a no-win situation whichever way it goes.

That said, I can relate to people being disappointed and lashing out. But in the end, they'll buy it anyway. ;)

You can't really blame people for negative comments when everyone is super hyped, then out of nowhere, and after the twitter feed says a March release date, the game gets put back again. People are disappointed and expressing their opinions, that's all. I'm sure when the game comes out all this will be forgotten and this sub forum will be a ghost town (due to everyone too busy playing to post).

People are disappointed because this game is following the trend of other racing games... Driveclub... Gran Turismo... ProjectCARS...

Of course they need to make a living off their talents, so do you and i. And outstanding artists even deserve to make a fortune. Believe me, the developers are by no means money greedy sharks at all, and mocking them with uneducated chit chat is really getting to their bones.

So it's not coming out of the pocket of the people working on the game? I'm confused.

*edit* when I say working, I mean actually sitting down on a PC and making changes, not marketing or promotion etc.
