Just saw some pleasant internal news. Not really exciting though, so let's see if there is something public coming in today.
Not really exciting huh? Must be some announcement about track licenses..it would be so cool if they also announced a new manufacturer license such as Lamborghini :D

Lamborghini are too expensive so went for John Deere instead the licenses for tractors are much more cost effective. We also have ford and some David brown ones.

Just saw some footage of changing conditions (dry to wet race) including pitstop (build 950). It's still not animated and Ai seems not to need to change tires in the wet. Little bit worrying so close to release.

Can you post the video? The animations will come when they are finished but clearly they don't have top priority. AI has to change tires too, we may answer this when we can see the video. My first guess is that it is only light wet conditions where slicks are still faster.

Yes, sure. Pretty much at the end of the video:

AI did not change tires but does not struggle in the wet (as far as I can see).

Unfortunately, I can't watch the video at work (youtube is disabled) so my answer has to wait a few more hours :boggled:

I'd imagine it won't be like that at release it does say work in progress so surely all that would be sorted out

If you're going to point out issues through videos the least you could do is narrow it down to a specific time rather than "pretty much at the end" of 23+ minute video.

I am aware of that but never say never. I was being a bit sarcastic on my post, I look foward to any announcement coming for this game.

One problem I'm not happy about is the lack of a decent mechanical damage system, the online racing will just end up as 5 lap bumper car races. Someone mentioned about how various forum members that organize serious racing league's won't use PCars if it doesn't have damage systems similar to iracing & rFactor2. People that are defending PCars are saying things like what a great graphical racing experience they will be missing, believe me that is the last thing I want to hear, it seems the sim experience on consoles is slipping away.

If you want to quote my posts from the WMD forum then please do it right:

If this is your view on the game then go ahead. You're the one missing out one of the best racing experiences combined with beautiful graphics, not us.

And this is what I posted before:

Don't you think you're overreacting a little bit?
I agree that the damage models of the Formula cars could be better and that terminal damage should be easier "achievable" but the damage system we have, especially the consequences of damaged cooling systems and aero parts, is already great IMO.

So please don't come to other forums and talk about WMD internal posts out of context. I never substituted the damage system with the great graphics. I still think both are fine but I also expressed that it's not perfect.

Edit: Also please take the time to view the post history of the member a discussed with. The only thing he does is complain about things that aren't finished or not 100% true to RL. I've never seen a really useful post from this guy.

I don't need to quote you correctly, as i pretty much said the same thing just with less words, also i never mentioned your name or did I mention that i was quoting you word for word, and you can say what you like the damage system is vague, i have been bumped all over the place during racing with no consequences for I or the computer controlled cars, try it for yourself, then try any other sim or perhaps real life, which in the end is what we want.

There is proper mechanical damage, and open wheelers are more prone to fails than GT Cars. "iRacing" or "rFactor2" leagues will not switch to a new game anyways. So, if iRacing and rFactor are just perfect and you don't like what PCars is bringing to the table, then please go ahead and stick with what you have. It's that easy :-)

There isn't really much difference between them, and I think i'm allowed to say what I like as long as it is within the forum rules.

I'll be honest Project Cars is pretty much the only sim I'm using at the moment, I race a little bit on AC just to see how it is coming along & it has been a while since I used iracing GTR2, GTL etc, I really am hoping that PCars becomes what was promised, including decent mechanical damage.

So what you are saying is that people should not look for any progression once we find something we like.

Of Course You can look for progression and if tracks, cars, weather, time of day, advanced tire sim, awesome ffb is worth nothing compared to what you think is proper mechanical damage then pcars can't really help you. Also I cant remember you taking initiative at wmd to get your perfect mechanical damage simulator. Therefore your complaints are not really interesting to me. If you don't want to buy it then don't. Easy solution for Ya problem imo.

Are you a Manager? I see nothing so I guess it was a manager and higher up news then. Damn I wish I had more money so I could have gotten the manager toolpack.

Look in the licensing thread in general discussion.

Actually, we, the managers and above, don't get much "exclusive" news. I think there was a single time when we got to hear something ahead of time, but usually it's pretty quiet in there. You're not missing much in that respect.

Look I just want progression of important things, your weather and stuff is just garnish it's not a weather and atmosphere simulator. I expect progression of important things before the the little extra's get added. I'm neither qualified in engineering nor computer programming, but i'm know that this has been brought up over and over by various people in various threads, it is now getting closer to release and there seems so far to go for peoples hope of a racing simulator on console.

I don't need to quote you correctly

Yes you do.

AUP
You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.

To not quote someone correctly and directly is misleading (as was the case here) and is certainly not acceptable.

If you're going to quote someone do it accurately; this is not something that is open for debate its a requirement of membership.

He isn't a manager, every WMDMembers can see the news.

Yes, I'm a regular full member at WMD. As I said, no breaking news there, but pleasant.

Oh, yeah I just found those. I was looking for new dev posts from today.
