I must say, if a graphical bug/ whatever you call it is the greatest issue people are having with a game, as opposed to complaining about ai, engine sounds, career, standards etc, then what a bloody good game it must be.

The game hasn't been released to the general public yet, all the stuff you mention is yet to come. ;)

This is the first ever racing game that has seemed to appeal to me in most areas.
I want proper racing (like the TOCA days), wheel-to-wheel racing, online competition, a sense of speed, old-school circuits across Europe.
Without offending Polyphony, as much as I like the GT series, this is a racing game that the racing fanatics want.

Me too... but I have to remember a) RacePro b) I've only read their own marketing.

Here's hoping :)

I have never tried Race Pro as it wasn't on the Playstation, I was so disappointed when they confirmed that many years ago :banghead:
The most fun I've had on a racing game is GRID, it was the perfect arcade racing game.

You didn't really miss much... it was touted as being by "SimBin" when in fact the staff had all been replaced when the company was bought. Some of the game was very good but it was super-buggy, lap timing never ever worked properly, online was shambolic and a lot of people ended up with a £35 drinks coaster :D

Still havent seen any reviews and the game is less than 4 days away :\
GTAV never got the review out til the day before it was released (PS3) so no need to worry. Besides, there's hundreds of videos on YT you can watch to make judgement on anyhow.

Really? Well I sound stupid!
I am praying for good, solid online servers, with many options to choose from for race settings

I think those being critical are entitled to do so because for every slight 'bad' thing that happens regarding Project CARS there are people praising a game they haven't played(as previously highlighted, every game has these fans so no surprise pCARS has them too).

The card played when the game was delayed again was the absurd assumption that this would mean the game wouldn't require a huge Day 1 patch, even though anyone with half a brain knew that wouldn't be the case.

Now, with the ghosting and motion blur fiasco we are being told that because someone from the SMS team said it would be "looked into" means it isn't something worth being discussed. I understand WMD members may 'know' this means it has a good chance of being fixed, but for a paying customer who will pay full price for a game on release, it isn't obtuse and ridiculous for people to start getting a bit worried and discuss the topic. We are receiving conflicted messages from those who have played the game at GAME and those watching live-streams and high-definition videos so once again that leaves us in an odd situation. The hysteria-mass has been reached, we are days away from release. I think the best thing for everyone really massively bothered about the ghosting-motion-blur is to hold out and see what the general public say(something more at value than a few select players and PR speak) then make your decision on the game. This isn't to say that discussing the issue is a problem, since when the game ships out we are inevitably going to see even more discussion on the PS4 version of the game since it will most-likely be the most played version in general. Those trying to blow over the topic will only succeed until the game releases.

pCARS was never going to be perfect, something I took as a stance from the moment I heard of it, personally the ghosting-motion-blur isn't too much of a deal breaker from what I've seen, and I'm hoping playing the game will allow me to have the same thought process.

Don't tempt them!!!
Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax, not like there could be ANOTHER delay right? Right? RIGHT!? There's a 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% chance of it being released on 7 may

You better make that 100% as they are in the shops right now

All valid and fine and dandy. But isnt fiasco a bit of a strong word for something that 3 people (if I counted correctly) have an issue with so far vs a whole QA department and all the players who werent bothered? I have yet to hear one of the early PS4 streamers talk about ghosting as an issue, for example. Maybe I just missed it and again, I m not saying it isnt there and cant be solved/fixed/improved if needed, but I m not a fan of hyperbole and hyperventilating.

Just out of interest, what are we predicting the critics will give it in their reviews?
I'm thinking an 8.5-9, maybe 86 on Metacritic (from what I see on YouTube).

There's many more talking about those complaining about it as actual complaints, so you tell me who's taking part in hyperbole.

EDIT: I'm not sure if you are taking the literal dictionary definition of 'fiasco' here and if so, I am not saying that pCARS effects are a 'complete failure', I am talking about the most well used definition regarding some sort of controversy.

EDIT 2: Never thought my 6,000th post would include the discussion of a dictionary definition.

It's just a bit annoying the issue is taking up several pages, leading to complainers complaining about complainers

Congrats on 6000th btw

Exactly.
The fact this was noticed before launch just proves it's a big deal. When people get there hands on it I'm sure more will be on

Eh Alan from Team Vvv specifically mentioned it 5 pages ago and said it was the biggest issue he had even more so than frame rate?

He then linked to his post of that for everyone to see (he posted it at NG)

http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=160620091&postcount=646

More people are beginning to see it now it's been mentioned, just because it wasn't initially noticeable doesn't mean it shouldn't be investigated or fixed?

Just sold my G25 to get the T300, felt so bad to let go of this little buddy...

Strange how we get attached to inanimate objects isn't it! I love my old G25 as well, it's got me through 6 years of sim racing in GT5 Prologue, GT5, & GT6 (so many happy memories of online racing & hundreds of replays saved). I'd hate to let it go as it's "my baby", so I might just keep it as a back up.

:)

The reason not many people have complained about ghosting is because only a few people have had their hands on a pre-release PS4 copy. Come May 7th/8th/12th there will be hordes of people noticing it and giving it an unfair 1 star rating on Amazon.
It would be a shame to see the game we've all been waiting for get marked down by reviewers due to a bug the QA testers either missed or thought to be insignificant.

Even the physical copy of the game has a "ghost" on the box. ;)
