Those screenshots look great! Just some AA on top of it and it'll look even better.

👍

I really hope for that in the console release.

Don't know what is planned, so far I've thought this feature to be a one of the perks of the "in development" code. Not sure though and I could see such a feature as a great selling point for a group of people.

This is exactly one of the great points giving the developer a "full freedom" to develop & decide all of the game.. Most prolly EA (or what have you) would never give such "free" options just because of.. something..

Yes, they're all on the to do list. As for rally it was considered but they decided they didn't want to half ass it like a certain other game so I believe currently the plan is either to release a large, dedicated rally DLC pack or save it for a full 'Project Rally' title.

Ian Bell made a statement about Rally that I found quite remarkable and admirable: They will only make a Rally DLC/Game if they are sure that they can make a better one than Richard Burns Rally. Its the same "world class everything" approach he envisions for pCARS and if they can really pull it off, I will give this man a lifelong support of Kudos. 👍

Wow those PS3 screenshots look really good!
I thought Pcars would look like shift 2 on PS3 but they look more on a level with GT5.
As long as they optimize most of the gameplay features, this should be one of the best racing games ever!
Just a few questions:will Pcars feature a photomode like GT5?Will it feature drag racing/drifting?And will there be livery editing like there is on the PC version?
I'm getting really excited about this game.:)

Photomode: I m not sure, I guess they ll go with a photo mode as part of the replays and/or the livery editor. Dont think they ll invest time in a photo mode a la GT5 with extra scenarios and stuff.

Drag racing/drifting: Afaik not in the initial release game, drifting may come later as DLC. (probably not high priority, though)

Livery editing: What Simon K said!

I much prefer templates. Livery editors can't beat Photoshop. At least for me.

I'm pretty sure that will still be available on PC (as that is how liveries are created now) but I think it's out of their hands for PS3, I don't believe they're allowed to interact with files outside of the game because of the security on the consoles. I could be wrong but I don't think they could do it.

Thanks guys.
Perhaps photmode in Pcars(if there is one)might be similar to the one in need for speed shift where we can upload a photo from a replay to their website.
Will Pcars be coming out next summer or later?

Honestly those screenshots of the PS3 are good enough for me,as long as the physics are solid I'm sold.

circa November is the current plan. It may be earlier though, obviously a year away from that date so they can't be 100% sure when it will be ready but November is the current target.

It's not the extra scenarios that makes photomode interesting, it's the camera simulation with full control over the exposure. Now, that would be cool to have in pCARS :)

Thanks for info.
Excuse me for my lack of knowledge when it comes to video game development,
but why is it taking so long,I've seen many videos on Pcars and now there are PS3 sreenshots and from the videos it looks as though they could release the game now.
I'l take a stab at working out why:is it because it takes more time to develop a game on multi platforms and the core gameplay takes a while to, as well as modelling the cars, tracks damage etc?
When did SMS start working on Pcars?
Will there be more cars added to the current(approx)90?
Will there be any famous italian brands featured?
Are SMS willing to update the game after release like PD with GT5?
Will SMS listen to fans reguarding updates DLC etc and implement as such.

SMS started on this game just over a year ago I believe. It went public in October 2011 with barely anything to it. Most of the time taken is modelling the cars (Most are not even started yet) and tracks then coding the actual game. They're a pretty small team and dotted around the world, personally I think two to two and half years is a reasonable development time for them.

There may be more cars added but as I say there is already a large list of cars that haven't been started yet and they take a long time to make, roughly 3 months in man hours. Bear in mind they have a LOT more detail in them than GT cars do, extensive modelling underneath the body.

If you're referring to Ferrari, probably not because of the high license costs. Never say never though.

They are certainly willing to update the game and support it post-release and they are already listening to team members with regards to pretty much everything, there is no reason to think that won't continue post-release and include listening to people that weren't members pre-release.

2 and a half years is very reasonable considering they're such a small team.
Will console versions have more detail than GT5?(got a PS3)
SMS sound like a great team of people willing to listen.
This game sounds very promising and I look forward to playing it with anyone who's got a PS3.:)
Thanks for the info everyone.:)

I think that they should be able to do that provided there was some sort of online application to design the templates along the lines of FIFA's Creation Centre.

Unreal Tournament 3 supports mods on PS3. Microsoft however is a lot more restrictive on the 360.

Yes, exactly. I've said it before but UT3 on PS3 allows for mods and skins. It's down to the dev to support the PS3 only as MS won't allow such a thing. That creates a disparity between them and also dedicated dev time to one console.

Kinda feel the same here.

They could have it in the same way EA did with NASCAR 09 (multi-platform game). Just have a dedicated server for all three platforms (with users having their own profiles for the painted cars to be uploaded to via the site) and then the users can download their painted stuff from those servers.

Edit: Good example of what I was talking about:

Yeah, I think this would be a great option. 👍

PES had a 'half-way' one by which you could import images straight from your hard-drive and into the game!

Looks good, as long as there's true leaderboards and it handles well am happy. Will there be car upgrades or is it just tuning?

As far as I know. There are no upgrades to cars, but they can be tuned. The game looks a lot better than I expected on PS3, so I know this will be a great game.

There will be no upgrades as in Shift 2, because they want to keep it more realistic and with the more complex physics it would be too much work to make upgrades work properly. Tunig is more extensive afaik, though.

I have a bug where the barriers & sometimes track edge 10 meters in front of my turns black as I drive around. Like at Monaco the barriers go from their silver color to black. I messed around with the graphics settings thinking it was a shadows glitch or something but it did not fix it.

I know I had it before and it went away, now its back. Before I search WMD anyone know what i'm talking about or how to fix?

There will be the chance to select cars and skins of AI opponents?
We need this feature on PS3.

@RACECAR
I didn't know about that, so it's technically possible. AWESOME!
I think it's a superb feature, adds plenty of value to the game.

If SMS do this stuff I'll fly to Japan just to laugh in Kaz face
than I come back and I'll start downloading custom skins. LOL.
