lol. looks like a laugh, might move my seat forward a tad though
It actually works really well on most cars but that BMW for example just has too low a windshield so it can really become a challenge. I have never been a cockpit-cam driver but I really love how pCARS has the option to show me the whole dash, I just find it much easier to judge my movements when I'm using a pad since I don't have a thurstmaster wheel yet.

Anybody running their T300 on the old firmware (V23 ) on PS4 and have problems ? The reason i ask is because i saw i guy have trouble and if was fixed with a firmware update . I know i should run the latest (v24) but i dont have a PC only a chromebook and i do not want to go by a laptop i already bought a PS4,T300,T3PA-PRo,TH8A, and a wheel stand for Pcars .

That is a big possibility, yes. I only drove the G40 Junior for 4 or 5 laps at Donington and it is rock solid and stable like modern race cars are in real life. Other cars like the Caterham 7, Ariel Atom, BAC Mono are very oversteery and very sensitive to steering input, even with the wheel, and require a far less ham fisted approach. I don't use a controller but I could easily see the big differences in cars being an issue. It's something you have to adapt to and perhaps create a couple of different controller profiles based on what kind of cars you are driving.

I don't want to beat up on GT but it's a relevant comparison in this case. I raced a lot in GT and pretty much every car had a very similar feeling. FR's all tended to feel very similar with just slight differences in the amount of native under or oversteer. In PCars or any sim, the cars are dramatically different from each other in many cases, because they more accurately recreate the true dynamics of the car. Cars that really respond to weight shift with oversteer, feel dramatically different with the wheel to full on race cars that are more glued to the track. Old cars feel dramatically different to new cars. The Formula Rookie feels dramatically different to the Formula B. And so on.

It's just something you have adjust to and when you do it's very rewarding. It's a big part of the reason I suggested before the game was released, to not take a shotgun approach to driving cars. Pick 2 or 3 slower cars or even just one car, and really work with them until you figure out what is happening with the physics of the different cars, and how tuning, track conditions, wheel/controller setup etc. affect the handling and feel of the car. Then add cars one by one in categories and in time you'll have it figured out. Add a trackday car, a sedan, a GT4, GT3, LMP etc.

This is a great advice, thank you JP, particularly for those players which previous experience is mostly GT5/6, to that I would just add, they should spend time just lapping on their own, either in practice or time trial.

As opposed to GT5/6 lapping in a SIM is a lot of fun and often, the FPS are much more stable when alone on the track which usually yield a much more stable FFB feeling, helping in the learning process.
Not rushing to a race is usually a good strategy and makes for a much more rewarding race when ready.

Well, maybe you have a friend with a laptop that you could use to update the firmware of your T300 in echange for some beer or a pat on the back or something?

Just wondering if iit runs on V23 because TM notes only says cooling fan shut down time and power manegement

Anyone can tell me what does this option do "Retire to pit box"?
Quit the race. Finish last.

PC Version here.
What do I need to do in order to bring up the FPS menu to show what FPS I am running while racing?

Agree. I have been playing GT since GT1. No PC sim experience. I expect Pcars to have longevity/replay ability because I have to learn the details of each car and track. I started the career in karts and just received first invitational - McLaren F1 3 Hour race. Spent 2 hours last night just hotlapping and tuning. And I'm not done yet! I'll probably spend a couple more nights tuning and learning Zolder before entering the event.

Holy snot this game is stressful sometimes.

Practise in the RGT8 at Brands Hatch. Sort of managed to learn how to string a decent lap together, and then halfway through my outlap in quali it starts raining. 🤬.

Now I've got to nail a hot lap first time before the track gets fully wet. Did OK, not great because I was being a bit cautious, and rightly so because after that lap there was no chance of trying for another competitive time. Far too wet.

Then in race it's full on chucking it down. There's big accidents at the first couple of corners to dodge, and then I stuffed up by getting too aggressive and trying to go side by side through one of the fast bends. Tapped the other car because I went in too hot, we both lost it and ended up in the gravel. Spent the rest of the race trying desperately to catch up with the pack but couldn't, because I really wasn't much faster even than the backmarkers. And I had a bent wheel, so the car wasn't tracking straight.

Then had to take a little rest, because that had been 45 minutes of constant stress and my arms were so tense I was getting all twitchy.

What a great game.

THIS, YES!! Exactly my feelings, but in the end I've never been so completely immersed in a racing...no ANY game in my life! I actually NEED the small glitches in this game to remind me that it's not REAL! I mean,I actually vocally respond to the team after a hard-fought win, thanking them for setting up the car and giving me this opportunity. I want to buy and wear a Project Cars T-Shirt just for the off-chance friends may ask me about it, and I can rant and rave. F'ing amazing, SMS! Thank you a million times over for giving meaning to my otherwise normal life!

I use MSI Afterburner (http://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner); you could also use Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/), but MSI Afterburner is a great tool for not only showing FPS but also other essential GPU information (clock speeds, memory consumption) - and even overclocking! (If you want to overclock your graphics card, please do so at your own risk. I don't overclock.)

Fraps is also a bit outdated, by the way, although it still works in pCARS.

Aren't you guys running the game through Steam? Steam has had a FPS counter for sometime now. You can even pick text colour and on which corner you want to place it...
I am on Steam but I use SP to record once in a while so its easier just to turn it on and off when i need it.

See, you were not aware, but I'm a complete newb. So, good info. Thank you.

Now, how do I activate it?

With PCARS releasing in the states tomorrow I decided to add some new furniture to the living room. I find it really adds a feng shui feeling to the room.
Thankfully, there's no lady friend to disagree with me.

👍 Nice. But you're going to have to make a big decision if/when the lady friend arrives! "Should I purchase a passenger seat or back seat?"

I went out qualifying in beautiful weather when it's started storming in my inlap. Was waiting in the garage to wait for it to stop while going through GTP but I just looked up and I don't think I can do a timed lap within a minute.

Audio cuts out every few seconds with my Astro A40s (XBOX One) 👎

edit- Saw it's a known issue, but the bug makes the game pretty much un playable with a headset on.
