I couldn't care less what they have to say. Why on earth would they release it when it cant even do native 4k gaming ? I hope it flops. Not even bothering to go up against the the scorpio ! I know where my money will be going.

Not even bothering to go up against the the scorpio !

...We don't know that yet. The rumored spec is exactly that, a rumor. Sure, the end product might end up like what's been discussed, but let's wait a bit and see first before blowing our tops off.

It'll FLOP plenty, just not as much as the Scorpio. :D
Why would scorpio flop ? It will do 4k gaming. Are you confusing the the scorpio with the xbox one s ? Scorpio will clear up as it is affordable 4k gaming. Gaming pc's are not cheap.

So are we going to make our predictions?

4K HDR Video / 4k Blu-Ray
Upscale games to 4K, super basic ones will run native.
Many games will be able to run 1080p and native 120fps for VR.
Called Playstation 4 Ultra
November 2016 release
$399

Also they'll announce the Slim, $299. All other models will be discontinued pretty quickly, it'll be Slim or Ultra. Slim won't even be called that, it'll just be the new base 'Playstation 4'.

It was a play on words, FLOPS the computational measure of performance. Scorpio is likely to have more.

PS4 Slim, $250, 4K output for Blu-rays, available today/tomorrow, replacing the old "fat" model.

PS4 Ever, $400, 4K Blu-ray and gaming (though most games will likely be upscaled from 1440P and/or utilize other creative rendering techniques to achieve the "4K" output), highly modular design allowing several components to be easily upgraded (APU, RAM, Media). The base Media module will be optional, meaning the console can be cheaper if you're fine with going download-only. An optional APU upgrade will be available featuring hardware for compatibility with all previous PS consoles. An expanded Media module may even allow compatibility for physical PSP and Vita software.

...Yeah, on second thought, scratch the PS4 Ever. That's less prediction, more wishful thinking.

Teraflops this, teraflops that, we'll get a better idea of any disparity between the Scorpio and Neo when Digital Foundry try them out, until then these numbers are meaningless.

From what I heard is that the PS4 4K, ever, neo, whatever it's called.
Only thing I have heard that it will do is play games/movies in 4K.
Sounded like same processor in the current ps4.
Same ram.
Modified graphics to gain that 4K.
Since every article I have read is saying the current ps4 can run VR and everything just no 4K.

Yeah, that's practically confirmed at this point... Robin posted the very legit-looking leaked slides on the previous page. Same CPU just with a marginal clock speed bump... same GPU architecture but with double the cores and also improved clock speeds.

Personally I thought all those slides looked rather fake and unprofessional but they're probably not too far off the mark.

Really? I have a hard time believing that a faker would go so in-depth into lower resolution strategies. And even if they did, I think it would look far less professional or believable as what's there.

If the PS4 Slim is the only new piece of hardware (which isn't really new anymore considering the leaks) unveiled today, Sony would have broken the internet. I'm hoping we will see a more powerful variant of the PS4 though.

As for predictions, I would predict a starting price of £399 (500GB) or £449 (1TB). Visually, it will look like two PS4 Slims stacked on top of each other and be reminiscent of the original PS2.

I really rather hope they ditch the 500GB versions, at least on the high-end model. The price difference between 500GB and 1TB to Sony must be negligible.

You'd be surprised how far some will go to fake things. I don't know, they just seem off to me, with the scale of the text and poor line-height. Unless the leaker fiddled with them before leaking.

I think that this might sway some opinions. I'm watching the live stream today, and I will let you know for sure.

Ehh... the "leaked" image he's basing this off is this:

Now THAT's what a fake powerpoint slide typically looks like.

So many things wrong in one image. Inconsistent capitalization, improper capitalization of PlayStation and RAM, two open parenthesis but only one closing, unprofessional and amateurish wording, and it reads like a wildly unbelievable wishlist.

Yeah that one is a pretty obvious fake. On top of what you said how would you even upgrade the "Graphics Card" when it's obviously going to be on the CPU as one unit. Whoever wrote that obviously thinks consoles have a removable PCI card like PCs. I mean technically it could, but highly unlikely.

Then you have the "DDR5 Ram" that doesn't exist. Unless the lack of capitalisation is on purpose and it's got some interchangeable Goats in there with the codename DDR5.

How about this for a wild prediction...

PS4S, PS4X... and PS4P?

PS4 Portable - Coming late 2017, utilizing AMD's Zen & Polaris architectures to be able to match base PS4 performance in a portable device. Unlike the Vita, this isn't just a "console-quality experience".... it's literally a PS4. Will come in 32 GB and 64 GB variants.

Games will be released on flash-based cards specifically for the PS4 Portable, but you'll also be able to download any digital PS4 titles. Perhaps with periodic ownership validation, you can even copy disc-based games to the system via connecting to a console PS4. And you can stream your gameplay from the PS4P to the console PS4 to enjoy the games you own on cart on TV... and you can use a DS4 instead of controlling the game with the PS4P itself.

Best case scenario is that Sony have come to their senses, and the PS4.5 or whatever it is called, has been cancelled. Also more Ace Combat.

Whilst they're of course going to show games running on the new hardware don't expect any in-depth showcases of games, these "meetings" are about the brand and the hardware. The game showcases are saved for the traditional gaming events, E3, Gamescom, TGS etc.

Yep, it's now called the PS5 and you MUST buy it to enjoy any of the new games. Also, your crummy old PS4 games don't run on it... so feel free to purchase any and all Remastered PS5 versions they shovel out. :P
