Unless they changed the handling, I always remember it being incredibly difficult to handle.

Subtlety my friend. You have to go REAL easy on the throttle and be ready to upshift quickly. You could try altering the gear ratios and make them taller between shifts, if that helps at all.

I feel the cars had better aero physics in F5 - the E23 was beautiful to drive. However, that was a 2013 model.

Anyway, try mastering it on normal steering and use TCS. Though quite sure you've already tried all of this.

I can certainly give that a try later on.

The E23 is the only car I see on top of the leaderboards with every assist but auto-brake.

Interesting. I think the motor on that car is just insane. That and the power:weight ratio makes it ridiculous. Evening out the gear ratios help - they're far too close to begin with. But I think that has to do with how the car is generally set up for F1 races; they do have to go up the gears very quickly, thanks to the heart-stopping acceleration.

I've only maxed out affinity for one marque so far: Lancia. I'm very close on Nissan (entirely due to the R392) and Mazda (thanks to our Formula Mazda races), however.

I spent today just getting the career mode finished. I had the final volume to take care of. I ran the '67 Eagle-Westlake in the first series, for the second series I ran the Nissan R392, and in the final series I ran the '77 Lotus F1. That was a lot of racing, but on the other hand, they are all very enjoyable race cars.

Mayenn.. I am DONE convincing your stubborn ***!

And to think that you're using YouTube vids Vs your HDTV to run comparisons... OF COURSE it's going to look better on your TV :banghead::banghead:

Good, we got most things covered anyway. I'm bewildered why you're suddenly so upset though. Until now it's been a civilized discussion about video games.

I already told you I compared YouTube videos of the two games in question before ever playing Forza, but it's probably no good to repeat myself at this point. I hope you realize that I used your pictures for comparisons - comparisons you started this discussion by saying you would provide for that purpose. You randomly addressed me with your ongoing claims and I politely carried an open mind trying to see your points. I didn't ask for this FM5 sales pitch of yours, neither did the "stop beating a dead horse" readers, but I respected your viewpoints enough to remind you of the comparison shots you eventually posted somewhat reluctantly, as if it was my fault you had to endure the "cumbersome and time-consuming" process of taking them. I only thought it was probably best to settle the discussion in the tangible manner you suggested to begin with. You then decide to attack me for not seeing things the way you see them... Unacceptable.

Ez cool man. I didn't mean to be rude though; not my intentions at all.

You're missing out though, BIG time. Being said, your call at the end of the day, you're the consumer.

Hi everyone, It's been a few months since I last posted though I've been reading this thread from time to time. I did an endurance race today, was the Catalunya 100. I used the perfectionist mod so no rewind and full damage (increased credits by 50% I think), then two 60% XP driver boost mods. I had read some of you guys had jumped about 50 levels from doing these races, I only increased 5 levels :( I think that I was racing on pro difficulty or the one before that I'll have to check. If you want to gain about 50 driver levels do you have to do the Nurb one???

If you want 50+ levels in a race you need 3x 100% (driver)XP and 50 laps at the Nurburgring in freeplay. Took me just over 6 hrs with the fastest car in the game (Lotus E23).

The endurance races in showcase will get you a average of 12 levels if you use the 3x 100% (driver)XP boosts. At the highest requirement it's 40k XP per level and the typical showcase will give you around 120k XP per endurance race.

The fastest way to gain driver levels in the game that I've found is to do the Indy 250 Endurance race with 3 100% driver level exp mods. You gain 13 levels or so in around an hour. 👍

Oh man, I've been meaning to do that, but it's an oval - something that could lead to temporary brain damage!

It is extremely boring. I haven't done it in awhile, and may never again, but it's the fastest way I've found to gain driver levels. If your short on cash it's a quick way to gain credits, though I haven't had that problem since they changed the wheel spins.

That's just asking for hand fatigue man. But shucks... I'll muster up the drive to go for it.. maybe someday.

Regarding the E23... I previously mentioned that in my opinion a lot of FM6 cars have too much grip. The E23 is certainly NOT one of such cars. I've watched onboard videos of real modern F1 cars where they show how much throttle/brake is applied on screen and the drivers always seem to use about 50% throttle for 2nd gear, almost full throttle for 3rd, and full throttle for 4th and higher, even on rain tires! In FM6 the car spins its wheels even in 4th, at least on cold tires. Has anyone tried playing with the gear ratios?

The most annoying thing about the E23 in Forza 5/6 is the ridiculously unrealistic braking distances, it feels natural in PCars/GT/F1 games but in Forza it's just weird and too quick to the point where I'm braking way too early basing on my experience with other games where I have no issues.

Yeah, the E23 is broken. It has three useful gears out of eight. Even sixth will allow for a lot of power-oversteer, which is frankly ridiculous.

I recognize it has significantly more torque than old F1 cars, but I really don't believe it's that wayward in real life. If anything, the MP4/4 is how I would expect it to drive.

Agreed. IMO, the E23 is the worst car out of the box. Yeah tuning can help, but it's still near undrivable even with TCS.

I think the worst thing about the E23 is that it doesnt really represent Formula 1 cars.

Do you think that Formula 1 cars actually drive like this? That there's a field of 16 of these things power sliding and and jerking about on uneven acceleration and brake locking?

Sure it looks like a Lotus and it has approximately the right power but I dont think anyone really thinks even pastor or romain can drive the Forza 6 E23.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was a Lotus E21 in Forza 5, right? I remember people saying how much easier that thing was to drive when compared to the E23.

Sorry for the silly question, but is there a way to extract Forza replays from the XBOX One to a USB so I can upload it to YouTube? I know about GameDVR, but that only allows 5 minutes tops (I think).

nope, as the game renders everything for the replays to keep file sizes down for replays. so you would have to get a capture card or use the gamedvr

Damn. Well, looks like I know where my savings will be going towards. :(
Thanks for the reply. :)

If you don't want to spend anything you can just use multiple gameDVR clips and then I'm sure you can find some free software which can let you clip them all together.

I want to say YouTube used to have an inbuilt feature which let you cut away frame by frame and connect the clips for an almost seamless video. I don't know if this is still an available feature but I seem to recall using it for some FM4 clips which were limited to 30 seconds long, might be worth checking out. Might not be as high quality or as smooth as a capture card but they still look pretty good.

Can someone explain capture cards to me? I've been thinking it might be fun to make YouTube videos of some of my favorite cars, but I have no idea how to do it.
