A bit if post necropsy here but so glad I found this post..

I've been registered on here a while now but only just found this section after deciding i wanted to see how good or bad I am at this and was specifically interested in racing people with exacting specs!

I'm still aiming for the OP's first time and already realising how average going on rubbish my driving and style is.. After 6 laps my best is 1:24:998, (sorry don't have proof haha) although I haven't been playing the game for ages.. The talk of GT5 has got me hooked on it again. Anyway at the moment im aiming to beat the OP's time then start knocking that down.

This is a great car/track combination and even after 6 laps i feel like it's forcing me to drive properly and giving me a feel for how sometimes easing off causes understeer and actually putting the power down in certain cases can pull you out of that, I expect to have some better times soon!

Sir yes sir! But as you can see from my join date, that I'm a noob, and don't know what the hell I need to upload my replays. I heard that there is some sort of usb device to do so, correct? Anyone got the link??

Hey, sorry if I was a bit harsh. You just claimed a very good laptime that rivals the very best players in the world. If your video is valid, then you are certainly only a newbie to the forums, definitely not to GT4. The device you need (although they're a bit hard to find) is called an Action Replay Max (AR Max), or Max Drive. Ordering one over the internet might be easier than trying to find one at a store, so do a search for it and see if you can find one. Ironically, they market it as a cheat device.

....Arcade Mode / Time Trial / Original Circuits / Midfield Raceway-normal / BMW M3 '04, sports:medium and OK.... then, on your screen, it should read the car, power (339 hp), weight (1570 Kg) and tyres (SM)... that´s it!....

Unless you´re able to backup your stunning laptime with a wmv., avi., flv., at the very least…..

You´ve got to remember that most people around here, al across the boards, are spending countless hours behind the wheel.... forget not all the work that goes into the leaderboards, including coming up with al kinds of combo´s.

I know for a fact that most of us will back down and bend over twice for pure talent….

Here's my first time. It took me some lapping that's for sure. I don't race midfield much, I usually stick with the real world circuits, but i'm gonna see if I can improve on this and catch you guys in the lead.

I believe most people more or less took for granted that standard OLR rules apply.

Here´s a reminder for anyone stopping by, just in case 💡:

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

* 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
* rumble/ripple strips are part of the track (tarmac or concrete areas
behind lines/rumble strips are NOT part of track here)
* no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
* if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
* no hybrids
* no cheating of any kind
* nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
* save your replay ('Save Ghost Replay' icon)


Just to clarify here are some further details:

I was thinking exactly the same thing.... getting back at this, I mean
In fact - rebooted the thing (PS2) just see what I could do against my own ghost - nothing ... really slow compared to the ghost with a high 1'19.2
Have to learn it al over again

Now don´t get too worked up, Ron - I might just prove to be your worst nightmare
On the other hand - somehow the PS2 seems so dated already and I might just have to get my hands on the PS3 stepping into the competetive world of GT5P
I´m sure it´ll prove to be an uphill battle for me no matter what 💡

Couple of things are holding me back though - which Full HD LCDTV to buy (I´m thinking maybe Panasonic 37"-42" with IPS technology, great reviews) and getting my hands on the PS3 60 GB PAL-version
Although the coming OLED-technology (Pioneer) looks very promising indeed.
