Flynn77 and Fabmaru can you tell Ignignoc N Err and probably others about the no racing chips and computer controllers rule.

I thought that was only for the GP Classics!

I'm more concerned about Ignignoc's chip costing 1500cr before, but only 1000cr now.

I've started creating a spreadsheet to track everyone's modifications so that I can hopefully calculate odds and start a book. To that end it would help enormously if people would disclose any power gains and/or weight losses as well as saying what parts they have bought.

I can, but please verify whether you're referring to his purchases in Grand Prix Classics or Sunday Cup.

Copy that. I'm in the midst of cleaning at the moment, but will disclose more info a bit later.

Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97
198hp / 1150kg

Code:
Description			Change	Balance
===============================================
Opening balance	  			  7,800
Bought FTO GP Version R		-7,559	    241
Oil Change (180hp -> 198hp)	-   50	    191

Power & Speed Driving Park Test Course Phase
0-400m Run (Acceleration Test)___16.608
0-1000m Run (Transmission Test)__29.016
Max Top Speed Challenge_________154.50mph

I've got to be up in 6 hours, so I'll have to get to the points scoring races later. Now it's time for sleep.

Flynn's Honda Civic CR-X SiR '90

144hp -> 160hp (oil change) -> 166hp (racing chip)

Other purchases: wing, semi-racing flywheel

0-400m Run (Acceleration Test)___ 0'16.853
0-1000m Run (Transmission Test)__ 0'29.759
Max Top Speed Challenge_________ 146.35mph

Interestingly enough, the racing chip coupled with the semi-racing flywheel took off about .15 seconds from 400m, .4 seconds from 1000m, and increased top speed by a full two miles per hour.

(hope this is what you were looking for, Car-less)

I must appologize for my post about racing chips and computerized controllers, it was intened for Grand Prix Classic, I put it in the wrong place, I'm sorry!

Car-Less, the first time I mentioned the chip, I had assumed that it was 1,500 Cr. but when I actually purchased it, it was only 1,000. Sorry about my confusion. Unfortunately, that's all my memory is good for sometimes.

Ok, so here's where I am at with the odds:

Code:
Fabmaru		Nissan Silvia K's (S13) '91	1:5
BH-21		Nissan Silvia K's (S13) '91	1:5
Driftking	Nissan Silvia K's (S13) '91	1:5
korza		Nissan Silvia K's (S13) '91	1:5
SVX		Nissan Silvia K's (S13) '91	1:5

Hot_shoe	Mazda RX-7 GT Limited '85	1:2
Jet Badger	Mazda RX-7 GT Limited '85	1:2
GrumpEone	Mazda RX-7 GT Limited '85	1:1

AndersonG22	Toyota MR2 1600 G-Limited '86	2:1
Flynn77		Honda CR-X SiR '90		2:1
Car-less	Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97	3:1
Ignignoc	Mazda MX-5 Miata '89		5:1

The Ninja Betting shop is now accepting bets on the above.

Hopefully BH-21 will give me a seperate budget for this sideline.

For those that don't know;
1:5 means that you win 1cr for every 5cr you bet and
5:1 means that you win 5cr for every 1cr you bet.

Winning bets (not race winners) also get their initial bet refunded.
So a 10cr bet on Fabmaru would pay out 12cr if he places on the podium in any race,
and a 10cr bet on Ignignoc would pay out 60cr if he places on the podium in any race!

I'm accepting bets in multiples of 10cr up to a maximum of 100cr for this test round.

Car-less hows 10,000 CR sound.

I probably shouldn't bet, I have the results so to speak. But if I can get a bet in early before any results come in, that might work.

10,000 sounds massive. I'll have to improve the odds and increase the minimum bet for the next round.

You should be OK to bet up until you open the first set of results.

They were intended as odds on a Win, but seing as you gave me such a nice budget for this I think I'll extend them to include any Podium place in any race for this round.

Edit: I've just looked at the numbers again;
There are 12 confirmed entrants,
and 12 possible podium places (4 races * 3 steps on the podium).
So if you bet 10cr on every driver, and they all stood on the podium...
the total payout would be 270cr! Theres potentially lots of money to be made here...
...but I will only accept up to 100cr (10*10cr) in bets from any one person.

Kinda curious why GrumpEOne has different odds from Jet Badger and Hot_shoe. O_o

Anyhow, I'll bet the following:

30cr on Fabmaru 1:5
20cr on Flynn 2:1
20cr on Igni 5:1
20cr on korza 1:5
10cr on Anderson 2:1

Yes, I am that certain of the skills of myself, Igni, and Anderson. Igni and Anderson have proven themselves many times over. :)

By my calculations his race chip will be less effective than their weight reductions. Yes, I'm looking at these things more deeply than you'd expect. Just wait until I start considering the effects of previous race positions - we might end up with people in outwardly identical cars with massively different odds.

Oh to be able to make the back end step out. This thing is useless in the slow corners.
Understeer, understeer, understeer!

Beginners course was as bad in this as it was in the classics. No room to move, and lots of jostling. I did however manage to complete all three runs without major incident.
Autumn Ring Mini and there was more room to move, and many passing opportunities. I was much happier here, the car handling the faster changes of direction nicely.
Motorland was scary. Cars kept getting out of shape and spearing across the track all around me. Luckily I avoided any major accidents, and even managed a perfectly clean race, but was it quick enough?
Motegi West and I got to open it up a bit. Don't get me wrong, the corners were still annoying, but it was nice to get up some speed on the longer straights.

Motorland is always scary.The AI just don't know how to drive there. I just raced there for the classic grand-prix and one of the cars just parked sideways right on my racing line.

What do you think Motorland would look like in a Family Cup race with a fully-tuned Minolta with a difficulty of 10? O_o

Well... I don't know. The cars there would have a lot of grip so they could stay on track. But they also have a lot of power for the AI to keep it on the track. Just turned of the PS2 so I can see now.

Car-less, how come you put your FTO at worse odds than my CR-X?

You have adjustable downforce and a racing chip when all I have is fresh oil. If both cars were stock then the odds would be switched.

In my All cars driven - 10 miles of testing thread I sent B-spec Bob around Motorland in 726 different cars. He was so bad that even at a slow pace he needed more than 15 laps to get any useful data for some cars.

Sunday morning when I check in round 7 am.

After reviewing the season one questionaires, one thing really stood out. So I amended the resale value of cars and the parts on them to 40% from GT4s's 25% for cars only. The rules in the Sunday Cup and the Grand Prix - Classic should be pretty much set for the season.

Your friendly thursday warning. Deadline is sunday morning.

Following drivers have not submitted times yet:
GrumpEone
Hot_shoe
Ignignoc N Err
Jet Badger
Korza493
SVX

P.S. What is with everyone losing or breaking or loaning their PS2's lately. If you don't make it in time you get 5 DNF which is the same as not coming in 1 through 6 and out of a large field its going to happen getting 0 points anyways even if you submit times.
