I'll be very dissapointed with TM if I don't get mine on Friday. Fingers crossed their preorders have just accounted for all the stock they're getting in their first shipment from TM.

I ordered a Momo Competzione shift knob today in anticipation.

Just checked my order on Amazon and it still says expected delivery on Friday.

Yep, ordered mine weeks ago and got a nasty shock when checking on amazon today and seeing it states out of stock. Checked my open orders and it says the TH8 and F1 wheel for my T500RS are still estimated for delivery on Friday. Here's hoping....
 
Well... I had my order confirmed to be shifted on Saturday, so i'll be expecting it on Monday. Didn't buy at Amazon but at centralpoint.nl
I'm so glad I ordered mine early after reading this. I would hate to be without shifter any longer. Automatic boxes are just not my thing. :P
 
Spoke to a buyer for Fry's. I asked why the TH8 wasnt listed on their pricelist yet, he said "cause Guillemot isnt shipping till November or December" ;)

This time last year every was excited about the T500 - it ended up arriving on January 6th.

Just saying.

Hopefully the shifter "just shows up" but maybe not.
 
Could it maybe just be that some regions get it earlier then others? The same as with games I mean. Like Asia, Europe and USA release dates differ etc.

Since Guillemot is French, I reckon Europe will be the first once to get their hands on one? Since I am in the Netherlands (only belgium in between us and the French) and I haven't heard of a delay... so... *shrugs*

It's wait and see I guess. I'm just hoping i'll get lucky then. heh

Thrustmaster is the worst company ever when it comes to release dates.. -.-
They said that the T500 RS will be released in January 2011.. It was available 2 months later here in Germany and in the UK..

wrong i got my wheel in the UK in January ;)

Amazon UK now lists shifter as out of stock and the F1 wheel add on is now due dec 2nd (was oct 14th). i don't care about f1 wheel but the date was the same as shifter just a week a go. so i guess shifter is dec 2nd at earliest?

oh well i can live with that it's not like gamepod have made a shifter mount yet, until then i can't really use a shifter

So I am sure it's just a supply and demand issue then. Just cancel the order if you find a store that can deliver earlier I guess.
I'm almost positive i'll have my shifter on Monday earliest.

I dunno what stand you have, but I got word from Jonathen form Apiga that they are in the process of making/designing a shifter mount for the TH8 RS. Just thought I'd mention it here.

For Thrustmaster T500RS, you can hard mount the steering wheel with screws, it have pre-drilled mounting holes already. For pedals, as its original heavy weight, you don’t have hard mount, but only using the stopper (comes with the stand) will be fine. For TH8 gearbox, we should have a new mounting coming soon (sold separately), as the current mount support G25/G27 gearbox only.

but love to hear how shifter works in game, quality of build etc...

i have a gamepod cokpit, i heard from a reliable source that they will make a shifter holder for it, question is when will it be available.

Darn you lucky...! If you get it tomorrow I want a short first impression at the least.

I won't be replacing my knob I think. I like the installed one. Or maybe I'll get the one from my Lancia Delta. :P
 
Not looking good for tomorrow I'm afraid. My open orders on amazon still says due for delivery tomorrow but not dispatched and no money taken from my account either:ouch:

Yep, same for me. No shifter and the F1 wheel also did not arrive and has been put back to 02nd December. Thanks Thrustmaster!
 
All those people bashing me for not being tolerant of this ridiculous amount of time we have to wait for our shifter.


I would of thought the company would offer a discount for those of us that bought the Wheel early. Now we wait almost 8-9 months and still no shifter.

Great job TM!

I still haven't received a message from Centralpoint where I ordered. They said they would ship it tomorrow in an email last week (which is in Dutch, so a bit pointless to post here ;) ). So I'm still somewhat hopeful especially since I was one of the first that ordered it.

For once I hope luck is on my side, but knowing my amount of luck... luck has never been there for me. =/

Once Fanatec CSW is available, TM must OMFG !

Now TM is totally lost the great chance to occuply the Sim Racing hardware market for its poor producbility !

That Clubsport Wheel is indeed every sim racers wet dream, no doubt about it. One part of me loves the T500 RS (which I owe for about a month now), but another part regrets it already that I didn't wait for the CSW.

Maybe i'll upgrade to the CSW in Febuary or something, since my car needs to make it through it's regulair annual checkup first in January. And that's priority number 1. Besides, December will already be expensive without me going crazy on simgasm gizmos. lol
My T500 RS will then move to my dad's desk. He's been complaining about the horrible deadzone in the G25 (my previous wheel) for quite a while now, and it's to the point where I want to get a new wheel for myself so he can get my old one. And like hell i'm giving him a CSW when I still have a T500. lol

Don't forget this shifter works with any wheel. Unlike most of us posting here, the average guy isn't gonna blow $500+ on a wheel (I know my friends rather spend that kind of money upgrading their real life street cars, etc). But they may pay for a high quality shifter to use with the wheels they already have.

Unlike Fanatec, Thrustmaster is making a product that can be used with any wheel. 👍

Well, if we are going to think like that then nobody in his right mind would get a g27 or anything up from that either. Since average Joe simply wants to enjoy a game and not go for 300 dollar realism.
If I had to spend the money I put in sim racing into my real car and drive that just as much as I spend time on the road in sims. I'd simply has to spend all of it on fuel. Since I drive about 300 kilometers a day at least. So that's at least 60 euros a day for a tank of gas. Times 30. That's 1800 euros a month!

It's nice to work on the car and upgrade it, but I have no place to work on it. Plus the fact that there are speedlimits on public roads doesn't really make it any worthwhile for me.
So ya, even when you buy expensive simming equipment it will still be cheaper and safer in the long run, especially of you drive daily for long stretches.
 
Ah but the G27 is within the average joe's radar because it has the h-shifter which is an important feature the dfgt lacks (plus think price dropped to like $150 I think someone mentioned but maybe that was a special)

150 was with 50% discount from Logitech i believe.
But I hope you get my point that when you spend driving each day for about 300-500 kilometers, it will simply be less expensive to get expensive simming equipment. No matter on what kind of simming stuff you spend it.
So if average Joe gets serious about being a driver, it's still cheaper for his wallet to stick with simming. Besides gas is getting more expensive fast. I think I'll have to pay 2 euros per liter here next summer (have 50 liter tank) and am paying about 1.50-1.60 now. :S

I guess just in case Thrustmaster better hurry and get those orders out if it's ready (I'm sure any day now Fanatec will start superhyping the CSS). maybe they found a last minute kink in the electronics?
