Oh, I agree. He was completely out of line, accusing Petrov and Senna of underperforming in a car that was clearly lacklustre while he himself was very quick to blame problems with the car (which Heikki Kovalainen never seemed to experience) when he was underperforming himself. No doubt Trulli feels threatened by Petrov in particular (he was the most critical of Petrov), because Petrov might challenge both Trulli's seat and Trulli's relevance to the sport, and so he decided to attack the softest target he could find.

Jerome d'Ambrosio's manager reckons his driver has a "real chance" at a 2012 drive, and that his only competition for it is Adrian Sutil.

I doubt. He did virtually nothing that showed and real potential, even if he was in a Virgin. He'll just become another F1 reject like Di Grassi.

With whom, Williams?

Somehow I don't quite see d'Ambrosio going to either Williams or Renault. Certainly not as a race driver. Test driver, perhaps.

Did they sack Liuzzi? I must have missed that. I thought he was partnering de la Rosa.

He was better than di Grassi, but I doubt d'Ambrosio will get a race seat. He wasn't quick, (Who would be in that car?) but he was consistant, which, even in the seemingly bulletproof world of modern day reliability, is a good thing.

Like I mentioned a fair few pages back, there's this culture now of drivers who get one possibly two chances in F1 before they're 25 and are then thrown on the scrap heap.

What are you supposed to do in a Virgin? Driving a Virgin is just sitting at the back of the grid, praying you get to keep your seat for next season and somehow find a seat at a different team.

Unless you've showed potential at a team which have a car that can actually turn a wheel, like Glock, you don't have much chance getting a shot at anything in a car like the Virgin or HRT.

Marussia, of course.

I have to be perfectly honest, and of course I'm not criticising you for posting that, but I really don't care at all who drives for HRT next season. For me it's irrelevant.

Pretty much the same opinion here. Sure, it's the last seat for those we want to stay in F1 but lost a seat in a better team.. Other than that, it's just another spot on the grid.

I'm more intrested in how many drivers HRT will have throughout the season... My Prediction is 3.

Prisoner gave us this news the other day try a couple pages back.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if HRT brought back Roberto Moreno. Or more realistically, Badoer/Gene. I really wouldn't.

They're certainly not afraid of changing drivers mid-season, although it's often a necessity than a choice.

Gene would be unrealistic, but Badoer? He was humiliated by what happened at Ferrari and the fans reaction (calling him "look how bad you are"). If it wasn't obvious enough, we've seen the last of him in F1. Shame really. A wasted career.

He'll probably think of turin 2006 as the highlight of his career.

I think he was kidding... :)

Yeah, Badoer was a less likely situation but you see what I'm getting at. Part of the Backmarkers 1999 Club; de la Rosa, Gene... Badoer. Hell, let's throw in Sarrazin for good measure (!)

Gene at HRT mid-season? Stranger things have happened.

I've just got a feeling they want to go with their Spanish roots, but doubt Alguesuari would drop so low.

But they also said their second driver would be young and not necessarily Spanish.

F1 Fan is correct, why would they pick a older guy like those. They're probably going to do the one good older driver to develop the team, and one fast young guy to take over the reigns not too far down the road. Like I've said in this thread.
