The Epic GT6 Thread (No Whining or Crying)

I agree, the GTP community are a bunch of whiners. Atleast appreciate what PD has done.

I never referred to anyone as a "whiner" for the record. Legitimate complaints about what has been shown to me are completely valid and worth reading. It's the "I'm sure this game will be horrible and Kaz is an idiot" type talk that is tiring.

Nope, was typing has that was going on. :sly:

It was just a little wrap up on my part in relation to an earlier discussion about people that like to abuse things like livery editors. A valid issue if one were to be included in GT6, but not a major issue in my opinion, and not something that worries me too greatly.

In other words, I'm enthusiastic about the possibility of an editor, to the point that I'm not going to worry too much about the side effects untill any problems actually present themselves post release.

oh okay. It could be a problem if genatilia being painted on the cars is not monitored. But PD should already know how to deal with that, since the hacked cars in GT5 erupted.

A track modelled around John Holmes's famous feature (not his nose) is ok is it? Lol.

It's a lot easier to objectively establish corrupt data than it is to define someone's subjective interpretation of genatalia though.
And how would you explain what your job is to others?

Obviously they would have a "report user livery" feature, and you type in the "reason box" that so an so has a gaint penis on their car. And what do you mean: "And how would you explain what your job is to others?"

"I monitor the internet for hot dogs and melons being used in inappropriate ways during simulated motorsport."

Yeah, a little hard to get respect after saying something like that. XD

LOL,

OMG, i can just immagine people screaming on their mics during a race:

"it's him, that motherduck in the RUF with a giant hotdog on it just crashed my twin melons painted Ferrari"

The 2000cc Cock Cup

C'mon, that will be epic.

And for each moron that paint bad stuff on his car, there'll be THOUSANDS of EPIC and BEAUTIFUL liveries... I just want some Martini, Gulf, and other classic liveries...

So, you're implying that even based on what we know there's still no grounds for complaints?

They're padding the track and vehicle counts? Check.
Is there a possibility Standards are still going to be in the game? Check.
Is the sound department still below par? Judgment reserved, but given the past fifteen years? Check.

Criticizing something doesn't make you a complainer or whiner, all it means is you're willing to criticize something you don't want falling behind.

Great post, amazing people cannot grasp this. PD has made a lot of mistakes the last few years and even though we don't have a lot of info, some already isa bit concerning which you covered.

Yes, this is the most important thing since A/Bspec are useless.
But i dont say i dont mind you cant play single player mode and have some fun. :grumpy:

Vast majority of games play SP and a-spec only. GT5 sold 10.5 million, only a few hundred thousand play online........ Recent studies show the majority of gamers still play Sp.

Against abuse there are 2 options available
1 - Pre made livery editor like in GRID 1 (absolutely brilliant and FAST)
2 - Option to turn liveries off for everyone or just a single user. You don't like someone, report him, once you reported it you will not see his livery in the game. Easy and fast, just press a button.

Not to bring Forza into the mix, but when playing online I rarely ever seen an offensive car, and like you said you can always report. I would hope that GT6 w/ a livery editor would be no different. Unlike M rated games, I think consumers would take into consideration that there are younger people playing and maybe be "PG-Rated" about what they put on their cars.

I would like to see more freedom than a "pre-made" livery editor, but I'll be happy with anything.

Still, I think Forza is more of a lightning rod for the crazies than Gran Turismo is

Probably. It's even been known to make people talk about it every single post, even when the relationship to the topic at hand is tenuous at best.

If there really is a livery editor, I will finally be able to create the 70 or so cars I wanted to in GT5 but couldn't. It will be lovely.

But I am really more interested in wondering how the clutch will be in the game. I really enjoy it in GT5, even though it is really shoddy. GT6 has to be an improvement, and I am really looking forward to seeing this in action.

On top of that, Silverstone is one of two local interational track in my neighbourhood (Donnington is the other). I think I am going to enjoy driving that in game, and then when I get a chance I will see how closely it correlates to real life! =D

Ooooh, not me. The liveries in GT5 make me sad, so let's hope otherwise.

Another thing that gets brought up on occasion is the Performance Point system. With online clubs and leagues, and online series and championships, the PP system needs an overhaul in order to prevent cars with different performance from being so variant. With all the other work PD have done on GT6, I expect this will be refined as well.

On subject if liveries, expanding some cars they already have would be nice, anyone wants more Ford Mk IV?

I have been wondering that as well, I think your the first person to bring it up. It better be more realistic.

OMG, Kaz has said the standard cars are going to look better and we'll be able to have more freedom to customize them. So far, I love Gran Turismo 6 and I haven't even played the demo of it yet. :D

My favorite part:

"Is there going to be more car customization options? Are you going to be able to swap the engine or put decals on the car?"

Both are technically possible, and we might be preparing it (laughs).

Please be true. You cannot come back from this one, Kaz lol. No, like literally.

Ah, the ever-popular "maybe".

Bizarrely, he's given a flat-out "no" on Standard interiors. So does that mean even GT5's bare-bones ones will be gone?
