The GTP Rolex Sports Car Series S4! Polar And Mustard Champs!

I just did some testing at Fuji and my Canaro and Italia were in the 1:47 range while my Audi was in the 1:52s. Any tips on how to make the Audi faster?

Save your tires for the end of the run.:P Try and stay in the draft. And don't make any mistakes. Unfortunately had to miss this race.:ouch: But I'll be back in action this weekend. Also, awesome job Mustard!! Sorry I wasn't there to back you up it seems you were better of this way.

I had the honor of driving your Audi Quade :D I crashed it too lol

The Audi's 2 weaknesses are understeer and lack of top speed/acceleration. The understeer can be cured to some degree but not totally, the top speed can only be cured by drafting off a car with a faster top speed. :sly:
I honestly don't experience that trouble.

For me, it's about 3 mph worse off in a straight line than the Aston Martin, which is actually fantastic given the lower power and the extra downforce, and I am talking about tracks like Le Mans and Daytona when I include that 3 mph difference. The AWD and 10/40 downforce gives the car fantastic stopping power and cornering, and AWD makes it so much more stable at accelerating in general, and moreso through a corner. And the tyre life and consistency.... don't get me started! I tested the 5.2L Audi R8 at Daytona last season and do you know how many more laps I could get out of it competitively over the rest? 8 laps. Usually, the other cars will lose 3-4 seconds of pace in their lap time over a stint, which at a safe 18 laps is reasonable. I was still only 1.5-2.5 seconds slower than my hotlap after 20 laps. It hit 26 laps and I thought, "Dayum, I'm hitting the 1:52's now, I need to pit within the next two laps."

As for tips on making the Audi (or anything) faster, quade's hit the nail on the head. You can finish strong if you pace yourself and focus on saving the car for later in the race. I mean, the Audi doesn't really require you to be overly tyre-friendly anyway given what I've mentioned, but it does keep you on track and that's what counts the most.

Thanks for the tips, yes I'm looking to improve a bit. :sly: I'm curious, how do I get the 10 aero on the front, I dont see it anywhere in GT Auto?

I understand what you mean by saving the tires but in a single lap run I was 5 seconds off the pace in my Audi against the Camaro and Italia. Short runs is where I need to improve the car.

Corner speed is good in the sweeper corners and 90° turns. The hairpins and straights is where I feel I'm losing ground.

The 10 aero is auto added when you put the rear wing on. (I thought the 4.2 had 15 though)

Paul, the only cars I know of with a 15 / 40 downforce are both Ferraris; F360 Scuderia and the California. And yeah, there's no way of adjusting the front, Rich, so you haven't missed anything.

See I'm not really sure of how you're going to improve on the Audi, redbull. I'll have to have a look at you in the race replay for Daytona, see if there's anything driving-wise that I can advise on, but if you're stuck for tunes I'm sure myself, the Audi guys, or even one of us in general can help you with a setup.

I raced the 4.2 V8 R8 a loooooong time ago in BST couldn't really remember. What I do remember was winning 6 or 7 races in a row with it :sly:.

Hey guys I might be on later for a bit of practice at Fuji. Add me if you want in.

Hey, how do you jump farther on mx vs atv alive!? I'm coming up really short on some jumps :(

You have to hit the lip of the jump right and you also need to seat bounce. Pull down on the right stick to compress your suspension and click it while still pushing down on the face of the jump to seat bounce.

I always wanted to see the Zonda R in a prototype class, its such an underused car in GT5.

More DP cars would be awesome. But then again, I'm not a series director :P

Maybe, next season we can use the Zonda C12 S 7.2 and the VW V12 Concept. :).

It gets really complicated with more cars. I like one car. If we really had the actual DP, we wouldn't have this problem lol.

However, we chose 1 car that used up 3 days of my life to find .

I'm talking from a spec standpoint. I remember your undertaking. It was arduous.

I think for ease factor next season, use the Zonda R because its more easily accessible. Obviously, get PURE's permission first though. If their series has hit **** water, surely they wouldn't mind us using it.

There was a thing in PURE that used the Zonda R as a DP but it died due to a few factors. I must point out though the Zonda is 100xs more difficult to handle than the Nissan ;).

Just fyi though, the only true PURE series are JGTS and GATE, the rest are members creations backed by PURE ;).

Hey, can you tell those guys to accept my partnership application on the PURE forums? I wanna get gt4 on the road!
