The GTP Rolex Sports Car Series S4! Polar And Mustard Champs!

Are you talking about the GTC and LMPC classes, because their are no AM classes in ALMS (or are you talking about the WEC).

I'm talking in general. I believe the ALMS has them too, I could be wrong.

Pc and gtc are pro-am. I hate the mandatory pro-am requirement. Race the car. People like Alex popow, john pew, and the nonnamakers race with the big guns.

I like maker races, it brings a huge rivalry to the races (Toyota Racing VS. Audi Sport and next year Porsche will enter with a works team (Go Audi))

Go Porsche! I'm still trying to find a nice Porsche shirt.. Can't seem to find on I like :(

I can't stand the AM classes... It's a PRO race... Let the PROs race!

I don't have any problem with the whole pro-am thing, but the way they determine the pro or amateur status is a joke. I remember one of the grand am drivers 2 years ago at LeMans was classified as an amateur, I don't remember who, but I think they were the GT champion the previous year or were really high in the standings.

And, Go Audi!

If there is 1 Pro and 2 Ams there in the GT-AM it depends on howmany AMs and PROs are in a Car.

I wish Audi still used the Ultra (e-tron seems like a cheat due to it's 4WD).

There was a thing in PURE that used the Zonda R as a DP but it died due to a few factors. I must point out though the Zonda is 100xs more difficult to handle than the Nissan ;).

Just fyi though, the only true PURE series are JGTS and GATE, the rest are members creations backed by PURE ;).
I can agree that the Nissan isn't prone to spinning out, and is probably much more of a joy at high power bands and on harder compounds, but I tested the cars at a comfortable 550 bhp on Racing Mediums, and the Zonda clocked a 1:39.558 at Daytona; the Nissan clocked a 1:39.803. I know overall the Zonda has less downforce than the Nissan thanks to the extra wing, but the 5 extra front downforce makes cornering a lot easier. I found I could tear the Bus Stop to shreds without having to snag the grass at all, which is something I find difficult in the Nissan. The Nissan makes better use of the straights, mind...

This year, Guy Cosmo is classified as an amateur... Total bogus. I'm just about to the point where I want to ax the ACO.

Do you know the weights you were using? That's awful close if you didn't try anything...

I can hear the complaining now....

Well pardon me trying to save the thread from going down the route of you saying Grand Am does no wrong...

Anyways, if Storm was running similar weights, and was that close without trying, we could possibly try that out for a spot race...

Not liking it. It might work for a spot race at Daytona or Indy. Other than that, we've got to get into different horsepower levels. That doesn't end well for a class that's based off of the same horsepower levels irl.

Well we aren't really dealing with the same situation as they are in real life.

We would be trying to make a hyper/racecar equal to a car that was made so a racecar could be used.

Vs cars built to be equal with a set of regulations.

It really wouldn't be that difficult I don't think.

Anyways, this spot race will be Laguna Seca...

Polar I am interested in your series so I would like for you to inform me if any positions open if you could please.

Thanks. :gtpflag:

I prefer LMP but if ACO get rid of LMP1 in favour of LMP2, I'll join you on the axe (I don't like the idea of no works teams in a World Championship).

I'll run gt in that race then.

Ahh, for sure! Ill keep ya posted via psn come race day :)

Also, is this series regulated by GTP sanction? And is there any way I can become an official GTP "licensed" racer? That kind of deal ya know.

If we apparently are using Zonda, please DON'T get rid of the Teams title for the Manufacturer's title (do both).

We're speculating for future seasons. This year the Nissan is all we are going to use.

Nope, your clear to race :)

And all this speak of the Zonda and co is for a possible season 5. This season has its cars set in stone.

Hey cnd someone might Join you on axeing ACO .

What about the GTP sanctioning? Not trying to be difficult but I would feel much more comfortable racing in a series with a head sanction ya know. Kind of like MxGMR with all of my Motocross tournaments.

If lmp1 is gotten rid of, I'm actually fine with it. I don't like the fact they rewrite the rules every 5 years. That and anyone can get special permission to break the rules.(srt viper and Bmw z4)

You're talking to the head sanction ;)

The GTP is for the site, GTPlanet.

I've ran this series for 4 seasons, continental for 2, and helped with a few other series.

I've played with the idea of making my own sanctioning body, but it doesn't do much on this site.

I really don't like LMP2 due to only privateers a allowed (on a world championship, it's 🤬 ).
