The GTP Rolex Sports Car Series S4! Polar And Mustard Champs!

Cost is a bad thing but I still like them as LMP1 have nice and fast racing.

They are fast. I would like to see LMP without traction control. That would separate the boys from the men.

@Paul: btcc ftw :lol:

I don't think LMP use TCS as a racer from Audi Sport said the Audi R18 e-tron "feels like Traction control", after that interview I would'be banned 4WD LMP.

They always have from what I understand.

So because manufacturers spend money on a technology and to be up front where they rightfully belong by spending the money, you think the races are boring? Maybe if it's Audi vs. privateers. But not Audi vs. Toyota. You should probably pay more attention to the WEC and LeMans if you thought it was boring and over after one turn. There's fuel strategy, tire conservation, wheel to wheel action, multi-classes, state of the art tech that you don't see on cars now but will in the future. What do you get with DP? A mock up Corvette not even close to the street Corvette. If you like GT type cars, you have a GTE class with Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Corvette, Viper and BMW. You can't tell from watching the race they have traction control. You can't tell they don't have ABS. But you can definitely tell LMP's are only 10 seconds a lap slower than F1's best. And the Audi is part time 4wd. They can't run their front hybrid power until after 120kmh. And the power is limited to 500kilojoules (about 200hp for 4-5 seconds).

One thing I agree with there. The Audi got beat by the brand new Toyota on 3 occasions so clearly they need to work harder ;).

I'll still take touring cars any day of the week.. Cheap tickets, full access to the cars etc and superb racing in the main races and supporting acts :D.

Hmm... need to check more about the e-tron.

Anyway if it was Audi vs. Privateers it would be heaps boring, I prefer it Audi vs. Toyota (and soon Porsche (Go Audi)).

Australia have V8 Supercars as Touring cars but I would like to see S2000 Touring Cars in Australia some day.

They have wondered away from touring cars imo. They are more akin to a GT car, even more so with COTF.

Much like DTM while it might try call itself touring cars, they are just glorified silhouettes. Swedish TTA is following this route and killed STCC..

It's all down to how you interpret the word though. I will stick by my beliefs mind you.

Anyone do any testing at Fuji yet? From some quick offline running without a definitive setup I was doing high 1:34's. Can go lower if I can get the rear end hooked up out of corners.

I forgot something, they are called DP, the P is Prototypes, apart from looks it is not memt to be heavily based on Road Cars or it would be classified as a GT car.

Le Mans last two years=awesome.

What's funny is their prototype class is basically 'ancient technology' currently with cars that have stickers to differentiate them. Seems a lot like NASCAR on road courses with a common car shape/engine etc. A prototype IMO should be something to aspire to with cool futuristic technology. Some people like what it is currently. They enjoy watching a bunch of the same style cars, but I don't. 👍

Anyway, looking forward to Fuji if I can keep the car in line.

Well there is nothing wrong with visiting ancient times :), even if they are Prototypes.

I like all those cars. They're all beautiful. LMP1 is too expensive. Same with LMP2. Causes low car counts. Ask ant about having to race on a budget. He knows.

Look at the WEC and Le Mans entry lists for this year. Lmp2 is more popular than ever right now. Plus there will more lmp1 entrys in the next few years.

I don't think it's LMP2 being more popular, I think it's because Rebellion and another Privateer are the only Teams that have the guts to compete against Audi and Toyota .

I don't get why LMP2 and GT3 get heaps of attention, I hate GT3, and LMP2 so far has no great roll to lead a World Championship.

LM sucks, I get so bored, and bouncing between 4-6 classes... :yuck:

Being the pace car driver is sorta artistic. It gives me the chance to do all sorts of interesting photos of close racing... :)

Im completely the opposite, i find multi class racing a hell of a lot more exciting than say, formula 1, which is terrible in my opinion.

Endurance Racing is always boring at the start bit it gets exciting when Night and Pit Stops (or even Rain) come into play. Multiclass racing makes it even more exciting as the faster ones have to monuveur around the Slower cars. It would be more exciting if it wasn't for those 🤬 blue flags.

It gets so boring though and my brother and I think the drivers don't deserve a win because they can't overtake them themself instead they need a flag to spoon feed them.

To me endurance racing never hits a boring stage. The constant threat of cars breaking down after a solid 23 hours of racing or whatever time is brilliant. Plus the fact its more based around the team instead of just the driver which has always appealed to me.

Reshiram, have you ever been in a violent crash, in real life? Like, have you ever been in a bad enough crash, someone might actually have died/been seriously injured?

You say that blue flags are boring, BUT, I beg to differ. I've been in some pretty bad crashes. Some friends of mine have been seriously injured in crashes at the track. I've been injured in crashes at the track. Blue flags are a lifeline for drivers like us. They keep us safe. Last place guys want to be safe, too. Win-win.

And, endurance racing is fine, for those of us who don't have better things to do for 24 hours. Or, rather, for people who aren't being told what to do every 5 minutes during a long race. Why? Because 🤬 🤬 🤬 parents created a racing driver with the occasional responsibility of being a son.

My grandad was involved in a huge crash a few years back now, he was in the top class of the series but the engine cut out and he was hit multiple times. Just goes to show how advanced warning for faster cars does help a lot!

And in response to watching le mans... this is why its great my parents enjoy motorsport just as much as I do.

A F1 commentator agrees with me. NASCAR doesn't have blue flags: You can't explain that. If I was 2 laps in the lead I would need something to entertain me, how? by overtaking everyone I'm laping and counting how many people I can propaly lap.

Also, LM24 Regulations state that each driver must have at least 1-2 hour rest after every -2 hour session.

I'm a loner, everyother guy is either a Jocky or a FPS Maniac (The girls don't care), I'm the only one in my neighbourhood who enjoys Motorsport.
