Trump doesn't seem to understand that money, while very nice, is not a magic key that fixes all the things people are worried about.
The people living next to toxic factories are making incredible money. They're dying and getting sick, but hey, they're making money. :dunce:

Shockingly ... it was a pretty good debate. Both men acquitted themselves quite well I thought. Almost like normal times are here again. :boggled:

It was the first I heard about Biden mandating tiny windows though. I don't like that idea at all. :irked:

Found the end of CNN's stream funny: "Number one, we're not keeping kids in cages anymore and.." *music plays*
Please check CNN site for more post-debate coverage.

Republican's big narrative for the last few months has been about how Joe Biden is "senile". The first debate was such a fiasco it was hard to take away anything meaningful about it, but tonight's debate showed Biden perfectly fit & able to present articulate & coherent argument, so that whole line of attack dismissing Biden has been completely laid to rest. Trump did a much better job than in the previous debate, but I can't see it moving the needle on the polls.

(The side views of Trump were fascinatingly like the cartoon profile of Trump, with his odd Teddy-Boy hairdo & corpulent frame.)

They thought they had him dead to rights over the NYPost farce (but let's face it, that wasn't so much about holding anyone accountable as it was about smear) and now they're flinging anything with the hope that it sticks.
I wouldn't put a lid on this story yet.

So Biden thinks the first responders we all clap for work for minimum wage and need a raise to $15 an hour.
Most firefighters in my area are volunteers and don't get paid squat.

Maybe, but your barometer for reasonable suspicion and acceptable behaviour has some calibration issues.
The FAA requires airplanes' pitot-static systems be checked and certified once a year. Maybe we should start checking people too. After all, if everybody's moral compass goes awry what are we supposed to check it against?

Speaking of which, I just got email confirmation that my ballot checked out and vote will be registered. I love the e-notifications. It's more clear that my vote will be counted than showing up in person.
Does each state have a different check for that? I was told mine wouldn't be confirmed until November 20th so I might be misreading something.

I don't recall Ohio having an automated message but each county does have its own tracking system. I checked mine a couple days ago to confirm it'll be counted. Very satisfied, would vote again.

Yea, I'm sure each state has a different system. Colorado uses mail in for everyone for all elections - so the system is set up for that. NJ is not set up that way, so I imagine the notification process is like... new this year, or perhaps significantly changed.

We don't get an e-mail or phone call unless something is wrong with the out ballots. We can go onto a website where we put in our voter information and the tracking number from our ballot and it will show where it is in the process. I dropped mine off last Saturday and it was counted and processed by Tuesday.

Squirrels. Squirrels are well known to have the most highly developed moral sense of any living being. They are the basis that scientists are using to calibrate AI to avoid Skynet-type scenarios, and have been used successfully as moral support animals to help train humans of certain races who do not have a natural moral sense. I'm not going to stir up controversy by spelling out which races - if you're reading this you know which ones.

Vote early and often. This sounds like a lifehack to the US Election! :dopey:
Been doing it since the first time I ever voted. Went in person, took about 45 minutes which is more than usual but considering the Rona not too bad.

Nebraska is similar, though you don't even need a tracking number. If you knew somebody's address and birthday, you could see if their ballot was accepted or not.
