I haven't watched the part where they were discussing it to get the full context of the conversation, but:

It’s real simple math now. Six votes in NV, 16 votes in MI, and he reaches precisely the magic number.

This sounds an awful lot like Fox News considers everything doneski.

89% voter turnout in Wisconsin up from 67% in 2016 looks a bit suspect...
Turnout is huge all across the country this time. Problem is, it got just as big a boost for Trump. His supporters are like banshees and will not be outdone. They just randomly appear like Children of the Corn.

Trump is such a buffoon that I would not be surprised if he really cannot understand how he can be ahead in a state at one point and behind later...

I recall watching the UK election of 1992 as a spotty 17 year old at my friend's (mansion) house in Edinburgh. He and another friend were massive Labour supporters, and his Mum later became a Labour MP and even had a bottle of 'Westminster' single malt in '92. My other friends and I used the opportunity of a 'free house' to drink, smoke and listen to The Doors, while the others intently marked off every result with highlighter pens as they came in through the night.

At first it looked like a Labour slam dunk, and so we weren't that bothered, but the others inside were looking unhappy - they knew that, despite the initial appearances, they were going to lose. And so it transpired... by about 4am, the election was called for John Major (Tory/Conservative) and my mates were devastated. My over-riding memory of that night was my mate Ewan, another lifelong Socialist with a very nice house in a very nice area of Edinburgh (his Dad drove a Jaguar and his Mum had that 4-wheel steering Honda... ) staggered out of the house with the bottle of Westminster single malt whisky in hand and proceeded to vomit in the garden, only to utter the immortal line "I'm not sick because of the whisky, I'm just sick of the Tories". We laughed.

@eran0004 PA moved! It moved! 84% now, and I saw Trump's lead drop while Biden's lead increased. It was like the first time I witnessed a clock change time or a street light illuminate.

No reason to be suspicious:

This election has been shaping up to have a massive turnout for a while. I haven't looked up any numbers but mail in votes, so hot right now, are way higher than usual and as @Keef keeps saying, Republicans are coming out of the woodwork, too.

@TB @PeterJB Related to turnout, I mentioned previously that NYT's estimate of Pennsylvania votes just bumped up to 84%...well, it went back down to 83% again. The vote count is so overwhelming that their total estimate is adjusting back and forth while simultaneously benefitting Biden, which suggests that not only is Biden carrying a huge share of those late counts but that turnout is even higher than the already high expectations. Trump's lead is now down to 5.7% while the total vote estimate basically hasn't changed for a couple hours.

Biden's lead in MI is now 1.2% with plenty left to count, and totally excluding Antrim County's mysterious numbers.

Also, Gary Peters is now keeping his MI senate seat by 10,000 votes which eliminates the risk of an Antrim County recount, with again plenty of votes to count in Detroit, Kalamazoo, and Flint.

Solid! I put that in the third slot, tied with the self-titled, behind L.A. Woman and Waiting for the Sun as first and second, respectively.

No room for Morrison Hotel?

:indiff:

That hurts. Through L.A. Woman, there are some very small margins between the albums. If I play the aforementioned 100 times, I likely will have played all that came before it at least 90 times.

It seems that a large group of people yelling "Stop the count" have turned up at a counting centre in Detroit and tried to force their way in.

Fascinating. The Michigan Senate race, between incumbent Gary Peters and Republican John James seems to be swinging Gary's way (by only 6K votes). And Raphael Warnock seems to be beating incumbent Kelly Loeffler. I think this would still leave majority control in Republican hands. But only by 2 votes.

Well would you look at this.

https://whnt.com/news/alabama-approves-bid-to-cut-racist-phrases-from-constitution/

This was an amendment to delete racist language from the state constitution. It had failed TWICE since 2000. I was curious as to how this would come out. Kind of surprised to see that it passed. But we still couldn't save Sen. Doug Jones US Senate seat. One step forward, a million backwards.
It probably passed in an effort to save face by Republicans. If Trump loses, which seems likely, they're going to really struggle to reform their image.

Two Republican votes is enough to render Biden mostly useless.

Warnock is still going to a runoff against Loeffler on December 1. Problem is, the Republican vote is split almost evenly between the two Republicans, while Warnock is not covering that spread. I don't expect him to win it.

Curiously, Maine still has a lot of votes to count. It's been called, so maybe the math does add up, but it seems to me like the math adds up.

They do realize that Biden is already leading and has only been trending up lately, don't they? A bit late for that tactic.

He doesn't care what it means. All he has to do is make his supporters think it means what he wants them to think it means, and boom, the dictionary and all logic go out the window. I don't remember if I posted it earlier, but this is basically 1930s Germany right now and I figure y'all Yurapeeins know a lot more about society then than we do over here. I don't know about you but I'm spooked.

On this side of the Atlantic, we are spooked. I think a lot of us see right through the rhetoric being used by the current government.

Well, I guess that is a good thing. Then democracy works. It seems like a lot of people that vote for Trump have not felt 'heard' earlier.

Did anyone catch Biden's speech just now? Much better than what I've previously seen from him. Statesmanlike is the word that comes to mind.

I wonder if Twitter will no longer take Trumps crap after January.

Seeing as he wont be POTUS, no need to look the other way when account violations happen.
