What were these people expecting for laying siege to the US Capitol while it was in session? They are very lucky to be alive. Can you imagine the overwhelming response that would have occurred if BLM protestors had tried to breach the White House? Secret Service would have killed everyone.
You just answered your own question. They thought "We're white so that makes us activists, not terrorists". And as it turns out, that's not really the case at all.

Parler is now suing AWS for a temporary restraining order to keep their data from being locked down while they search for anyone who will host them, claiming antitrust and breach of contract on Amazon's part.

Surely this is to preserve the integrity of their data for migration, and not at all so they can try to delete anything that might be used against them in a criminal investigation. Noooo nonono, not AT ALL.

With the data leak (hack?) I don't think it matters if they were to delete things. The horses are out of the barn so to speak.

If the source data is destroyed, Parler could dispute that the scraped copy is fake and keep it from being admissable, or at least keep it running in circles in the courtroom long enough to find another way out. Having the original data is much more preferable as there's no question to its authenticity, so Amazon keeping it locked down is pretty important.

It's a valid and somewhat poignant point. After 61 lawsuits, multiple recounts and and several internal audits, there has been NO widespread election fraud found. But the majority of Trump's supporters REALLY still believe this election was stolen. They completely reject the idea that Joe Biden had more votes. And there are Republicans in congress who have a tagline about the "stolen election" right in their twitter profile. Trump lost the popular vote in 2016, he NEVER had more than 50% approval during his entire 4 year run and the polls had him losing this election so it really SHOULDN'T be a surprise. But for many of his supporters who live in a bubble where they reject ANY news coming from the MSM, and OAN and Facebook Friends and Parler Friends and Newsmax, Rudy and the Orange one himself keep insisting, day in, day out that he won, they can't come to terms with it.

I guess it can't be easy for these jackasses in Congress or the Senate to now stand in front of (literally) an angry mob and say, "Sorry folks, J.K., the election really WASN'T stolen. The votes ARE valid. Trump legitimately lost." But if there is to be a first step in a healing process, it has to be by stating the truth. It sounds rather obvious but it needs to be done.
