the "just plain ugly" car thread

The Pontiac Transport:

Pure eyesore on wheels. If it ever made its way to GT (which will not), I wouldn't mind it being a turd-quality standard.

Proton Arena Fastback. It was a top trim level, it was a bed tonneau cover to make look like a fastback coupe.

I don't think it looks too bad. Straighten up the C pillars on the tonneau and it would be pretty nice.

The new Opel / Vauxhall Corsa, they took the already ugly previous generation and added some ugly Adam in to make it super ugly! :ill: Dat nose!

Yep, this is a looker alright. :ill:

Luckily the 90's and current Buick's look much better.

I think the Astra (which is the least inspiring car on sale at the minute) has the issue of its features getting lost in the fat. The Corsa wears them, but in some dumpy oversized way, and I actually think it looks good. I was fearing what it'd look like, because the Corsa is one of the only cars where I like every generation.

@Badasp5.0

The Pontiac Transport, others see the resemblance too

I really didn't like the look of the D generation especially the front, I loved the Corsa C because it was more angular rather than curvy and better proportioned IMO. The proportions are kinda odd on the E, I think it's because the light clusters look too big for the body. It might be one of these cars which look much better in the flesh but I was expected something less bland, would like to see what the VXR looks like.

Subaru: Definately
Seat: More-so the back than the front.
Newer BMW: Front Grille seems too big.
Older BMW: Is it trying to appeal to a younger audience?
Toyotas: I can see why someone would hate them, but atleast the hatchback version was taken to rallying.
Audi: Not really ugly, just bland for a luxury car.
Mercedes 1: I.... fail to see how that is ugly.
Mercedes 2: Modified cars aren't even allowed in this thread

That rear is gorgeous next to its notch-arsed cousin.

I think the only straight-up ugly (stock) example posted above is the Tribeca. The Corolla clearly isn't a looker, but I have almost the same affinity for it as I do for the bug-eye Impreza. The others have their quirks (save for the Mercs), but there's nothing at all obscene about the way the look.

I don't see how that generation of the C-class as a whole (I'm treating the second as unmodified in this instance because this thread is for production cars as they left the factory) is all that unattractive. It's a little safe--a little plain. But maybe that's a good thing, because we know what can happen when Mercedes tries to make a C-class less plain.

It looks like the owner accidentally bumped the wall when backing into the garage...and then floored it.
