Good question and to be honest, I don't know if it would work!
I do know that their pedals will though!
Yet, even if the ECCI wheels did work, I think the prices would deter a LOT of folks from buying them..

I'll email ECCI and ask them about it...will post back once an answer (yes/no) has been confirmed.

EDIT
Well, after submitting this post, I emailed ECCI support shortly thereafter, while at work no less and asked the following questions:

1. "Since your Trackstar 6000 pedals are a direct plug-n-play then this must mean that they'll work without any issues on both a PC & a PS2...Right?"
All right, so I knew the answer was yes before I even asked the question..who cares! LOL! :)
&
2. "Would your Trackstar 6000 wheel be compatible with the PS2 as well? "

And I just got home about 10 minutes ago and thought I'd check my email, thinking 'maybe' ECCI support 'might' have responded to my email...boy, glad I checked! Here is what they had to say:

#1: The pedals are direct plug-in replacements for the DFP pedals and will work with either a PC or PS2 just as the DFP pedals do.

&

#2: No. Game console controller compatibility is not open source as it is with a PC. On a PC, all software that offers input with game controllers must have compatibility with any industry standard control devices. Game console controller compatibility must be purchased as a license item from the holder of the rights to that console, and then specific controller compatibility must be written into the game software. To date there has not been enough demand for PS2 compatibility for our complete systems to justify expenditures in this area! Anything else, just let us know!

Thx-

So, I think for anyone who spends a great deal of time racing on the PS2 and happens to have the Logitech DFP, and is looking for a quality upgrade to the standard Logitech OEM pedals, then this would be a great addition!
Top quality materials used! Much more 'realism' then what the standard Logitech pedals can give...all in all, I think this pedal system would be the perfect addition to any gamers collection! :)

Matter of fact, considering ECCI & Frex are the only two current 3rd party companies making high-quality pedals and/or wheels for the PS2, I can't see anyone going wrong with ordering their products!

Woohoo! My mum says I can buy through Amazon, hopefully. Hellnback, how much does the DFP weigh all up, wheel and pedals? And Minnesota01R6, is there an site where I can find postage rates to New Zealand? Amazon didn't state very clearly.

Bad news - Amazon doesn't actually sell it, it is listed on there by TechDepot, a subsidiary of OfficeDepot and they don't ship internationaly. I also called target.com - they don't ship internationaly either. I even checked play-asia.com and they are sold out. So, unless you can find a company that ships internationaly, you might be out of luck. I will keep looking to try to find you a place that will, but your best bet might be to buy one off Ebay and have the seller ship it to you (Email them before you bid so that they can give you a shipping quote first - they may try to charge you some outrageous sum in order to ship it to you.

Good luck! I'll PM you if I find any more info.

EDIT: THIS LINK WILL SHIP INTERNATIONALY It is compuplus.com and the DFP is $101 U.S. on their site, but they want the money to be prepaid via wire transfer?

Anyone have a DFP retailer that will ship to New Zealand?

Well I got mine today :) 900 degrees sure does take time getting used to it.

i bought the ECCI for myself, and i'm very satisfied with them, the frex looked awsome too, but i figured "do i want supercar pedals, or regular production car pedals?"

the ECCI look like the pedals you find in 99.9% of the cars, the ones from frex look EXACTLY like the ones on the McLaren F1. since GT4 is all about racing with regular cars most of the time... that made my choice clear, but both are good looking as hell, and i would love to own those frex pedals too.. but it's too much to spend.

i may even be getting the clutch for the ECCI, since GTR supports clutch, but since i see myself playing a lot more GT4 than GTR, i don't think i can justify the extra 180 bucks.

Wow, thanks for pointing it out, I didn't realise that Amazon doesn't ship electronics overseas. Now I'm really in the stink trying to find an online retailer that ships here as well.

ATTENTION ALL INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:

Ok, I did some checking, and This Website will ship you a "renewed" (opened, tested to be found in working order, and repackaged) DFP for $55 U.S. plus shipping. You have to pay for it in one of these ways:

International Payment.
International sales must be prepaid and are payable in U.S. dollars by cashier or bank check drawn on a U.S. bank, wire transfers or letter of credit (confirmed by major world bank) upon approval. We accept only credit cards issued by U.S. banks. International customers are responsible for determining their country's duties, tariffs or taxes.

They have a 30 day exchange policy (you pay for shipping) and a 7 day dead on arrival policy (they pay for shipping).

Well done VIPERGTSR01, enjoy like the rest of us...

ALPHA, the DFP will be worth every penny for GT4 when and if it's ever released... in a way now I'm glad GT4 is delayed, time to build cockpit and practise to be ready!!!

Eeek, Minnesota01R6 that sounds too complicated for what it's worth :(.

So far in NZ I've found:

Gameplanet Store - $329.95
The Gamesman - $299.95

I really want a decent wheel because I can see how much I'll be able to enjoy GT4 so much more, driving in the Series 1 demo with the DS2 on Nurburgring doesn't feel 'natural' to me. I've just got to think of an easy way to set it up because I don't have the space for a full cockpit like setup.

EDIT: Play-Asia.com have it but it's out of stock, don't know how long for. The very good news is they ship internationally and accept many different forms of payment. đź‘Ť

900 degrees is alot better than 200! I am startinmg to get used to it and soon enough I hope to match my DS2 controller in lap times:tup:

Im also glad to have time to practice before GT4.

Alpha, if you read carefully I think you can buy it with a credit card if it is issued from a U.S. bank - not sure if that is possible or not in NZ, but it is worth a try. Not to mention it is 1/3 the retail price here in the states. Bank transfers don't cost that much either, so if shipping is less than ~$100 U.S. dollars, you will come out ahead.

Thanks Minnesota01R6 and Alpha for going to all the trouble đź‘Ť but I don't think I'll be able to buy overseas sadly. However since it appears the The Gamesman sells it for $300 I might go for that. Parents said they would put some money towards it now so I won't be paying much more than if I bought it direct from USA e.g I pay $200 and parents pay $100 or something like that. Oh well

I was going to get one off Ebay shipped to NZ a while ago for about $200NZ shipped, but theres other costs aswell such as power supply conversion, which is about $50 NZ. So I would rather pay $50 more and get it with less risk of being lost or damaged. I think Ill just stick with the DS2 until it comes down in price :)

I'm trying the wheel (DFP) with Street racing syndicate but it does not work? What am i diong wrong?

I really wanna try the game with this thing...

Been browsing around and using the search function and couldn't find anything about this (forgive me if it's already been posted), but our local Sam's Club has the DFP fo $109.

They had a bunch of 'em. I bought one then brought back my un-opened DFP to Best Buy right next door. Guy at Sam's said they just got them in.

Just bought my DFP today good fun but I have to get use to it ,one problem with playing with it in proluge ,I was playing with the M5 and when turing and the car is sliding a bit the wheel just turns by itself a bit is this a problem or is it just a feature ,haen't tried it with Gt3 or NFSU 2 ,would 900 degree work with gt3 ?

erh that will be the force feed back simulating the weight of the car moving in oversteer!
Its part of the physics engine giving wheel users a whole new dimension to the game over the DS.
You better get used to it, try the mclaren no aids and slip it up on the curbs :)

when u say force feedback, do mean that the wheel can turn by itself to its original position? like when driving a real car when u turn into a corner and then let go of the wheel and accelerate the wheel turns back, in response to the front wheels getting forced to straighten up, as well as the vibration type force feedback?

i didnt know if that what u meant above.

Yes, the wheel will straighten up, on its own like a real car.

Mine is locking up frequently. Sometimes just inbetween races it can lock up, I have only tried it twice in GT4P and both times it did it. Since then I've been using it on the PC and it works better there.

Minnesota01R6
Is anyone having trouble with their DFP locking up? Mine seems to do it at least once a week. The DFP goes dead, the game thinks I have the accelerator full-on, and it won't turn. I have to press the start button on my DS2 controller, unplug and plug back in the USB cable to my DFP and then everything works just fine again.

Any help would be much appreciated.

hey i have a problem when i turn my consol on the wheel is not allighn itself and when gt3 comes on the menu the 900 degree is on and the 200 degree is blinking and then after a few minutes they both are on and my wheel doesnt seem to respong to whateso ever button i click on it.

thanx alot was afriad that there is something worng with wheel so just have to get used to it,because this is my first wheel ever on any console .But the wheel does give the game a whole new dimension .

One Q I read in the first page of this thread that there is 60% to 100% force feedback is it the same is the one in GT4:P where you ut mild ,inter, and strong ?

and what effect does it do to the driving of the wheel ?

and wanted to ask does 900 dgrees work on GT3 ,and if it does does it work proparly

I had a similar problem when I first setup my DFP, it ended up just being the power plug wasnt connected properly. I changed sockets and now it all works perfect.
