I will sell my DFP to anybody who wants it for $70 US, and however much shipping costs. Just PM me. Its in perfect condition, used only on GT3. I'm selling it because i no longer own a ps2 to play it on, so yeah. 70 is a steal.

Hey, man don't sell it!
If you are a PC user there is a lot of use for your DFP! A GTR is coming soon but LFS,RBR, EA F1C with its splendid Touring mods are already out there, even a PC version of race driver 2 will do!

yea it's a nice wheel. i never even notice the noise it makes when i am driving. not my best driving ;-) but its a good course to show the amount of steering and versatility of the wheel. hope you enjoyed it ! later-

Yay! I got my DFP today as an early xmas present. And a free copy of GT3 as well to replace the copy I foolishly broke about a year ago. My god, after 5-6 years of dual shock GT it comes as a shock to the system but after a few races I'm getting used to it. I'm not going as fast but I'm having more fun. And I'm also using manual transmission now as well, something I never used to do.

It was a huge expense, at least for me, at NZ$350 but since I can use it with GT4 next year and a whole manner of other games I'm satisfied. Does anyone know if it will be Midnight Club 3 useable?

Also, should I start playing GT3 all over again with the wheel to pass the time before GT4? I'm a little reluctant to get rid of my other game at about 80% completion. Any thoughts?

I'm so happy. :sly:

Finish the game. With you're 80% completion. The way I finished it was the last time trial, and believe me, that moment was freakin amazing. It's well worth finishing 👍

Well, I finally bit the bullet... Found one on Ebay, came to exactly $100 (U.S.) with shipping. Call it a Christmas present to myself, I guess, although I'm pretty sure I'll make that hundred bucks back in Christmas money. :)

Now SaintKamus can quit bugging me about being such a "hardcore" player and not having one. :P

Hey. I just bought my DFP three days ago and when I try to shift gears on manual with the stick it just won't shift up. It shifts down happily enough but not up. Also, I think this only happens with some cars but not all. It can't be overuse since I've only used it for about 4 hours so far. Does anyone know why this happens? I'm not really keen on trying to return my brand new wheel.

Well, not to be a jerk, but I have a couple thoughts...1) find out for sure if this happens on all cars. 2) at what point are you shifting? too early? (i don't really remember if this matters or not) Otherwise, it sounds like whatever mechanism there is for up shifting doesn't work right...if you're adventurous you could take a look at it or you might have to take it in even though that sucks. If it's a good store, they should be cool.

I'll go try with some other cars now. It doesn't matter when I shift, 5000rpm or 8000rpm, accelerator on or off, it still happens.

Edit: Don't worry, a reset cured the problem.

Strange, I know with mine if when I shift up I flick (push on it and let it go) the shifter it will rebound and change back down again, but this doesnt sound like your problem.

If I were you I would ring Logitech and they might send you a new one without having to return that one. (they did that for a few people here).

*edit* you fixed it. :)

Congratulations, now your Hardcore :D

Just picked mine up tonight. Not exactly overimpressed, or terribly disappointed with it. I need to spend some more time with it to see what the final verdict is. So far, the first thing I noticed is the noise. Way too loud. Unacceptable, IMO. Secondly, the dead area in the center really bothers me too. There should be some resistance to any movement.

I really need to come up with a better place to mount it, though, as my living room table puts the wheel level with my knees, and the pedals directly below it.

I'm glad the ECCI pedals work with it, I plan to go with those once the real car stuff is taken care of (I'm an auto-xer, so tires are a major part of the budget)

...and this is my reference as far as good force feedback systems go... more than 15 years old and still nothing does as well, IMO. The feedback motor is about the same size as a 50-pack spindle of CDs. There is no "dead spot" and it is practically silent in operation.

Congrats on your purchase.
Now just have to sit back and wait to enjoy GT as never before :P

Possibly, Logitech has improved the Driving Force Pro Pedal-Unit 👍

I'm to find this Photo of a open DFP Pedal at the GTRP Forum

Gutes werk, herr winkels! Haven't got my dfp yet (2 more days) but I see they revamped the pedal construction (what a crappy design the DF pedals had! I torqued the gas pedal and cracked it).
Have you found anything interesting worth mentioning from the German forums?

did anyone else think this was gunna be stronger with the force feedback?

turn up the game feedback setting and turn the wheel to 100% feedback mode, and it will shake anything but a Solid Frame to pieces.

Are you saying that isnt enough!

Does anyone here know of any PC games that work well with the driving force pro in 900 mode? I have richard burns rally and live for speed.

If you want to play it in your lap, you'll have to buy the lap attachment.. unlike the DF, the DFP doesn't include it. However, if you have the original DF, I believe the lap attachment is interchangable to the DFP.

oooooldschool! I use to play "Hard Drivin'" all the time back in the day! Me and a couple buddies use to do time trials on it

edit: I just noticed it looks like it's in a house, is that yours??

Yep. :sly:

BTW, an update on my earlier comments:

It seems the problems with on-center feel are more a GT3 issue than an issue with the wheel itself. The wheel works pretty well in NFSU2. However, I've been experimenting with the settings (in NFSU2), and what works best for me is the following:

200°, non-linear, with vibration turned off. That essentially gives the wheel a stiffening effect, but does not give real force feedback. I found I could turn the best lap times with this setting, but still not up to my best on the DS2.

Now unfortunately, I have been unable to find a setting in GT3 that works the same way. :grumpy:

I really need a larger wheel, too. This little baby 10" thing just doesn't feel right for me. I wish Frex could adapt over a nice 12" Grant. Alot less pricey than the MOMO (you can get one for $100) but look to be just as nice.

I remember awhile ago someone adapted a real car wheel to there DFP and it works well. Its somewhere hiden in the threads of GTP.

Yep, it is possible 👍 with GTR (simbin), Richard Burns Rally, Insane, FlatOut, all PC versions.

OK, here's another question.

I own the logitech driving force, and the driving force pro. If i plug in both wheels, can i use one of the pedals from the driving force as a clutch?
