Tell me... on your way to the store, if your car is going above say.. 30mph, do you ever have to turn the wheel more than 90 degrees to go 'round a bend? Most likely not. 900 in GT4 is that same way. So relax.. give it a whirl, you might find the rest of us aren't so crazy after all. :)

Now this is the best news I've heard all day so far! Finally! Confirmation on just how the DFP works with GT4!

Thank you! 👍

And I got that just from the Toyota demo.. hehe. The only time the wheel ever goes more than 90 degrees is when you're tire-squealing around a corner (at which point the extra turning really doesn't do any good.. both those cars tend to understeer in that demo.. until you hit the brakes, that is), or when you spin and you're trying to get it going the right way again. Both of which are perfectly natural and realistic.

i change gears A LOT. i just use whatever is convenient while driving. usually i always shift down using the paddle and combo with shift up (but that depends how fast im going and how sharp the turn is.. on nurb i basically ALWAYS use paddles.

i always had a problem reversing with the triangle and never thought of setting the stick shift down to reverse. great idea! i'll try it once i get home (stuck at work for another ~8hrs) :embarrassed:

Doesn't work. You can only use triangle. I can't believe you can only use a digital button that is hard to reach when steering and shred your tyres instead of having analogue control.

Is it not one of the default selectable settings for the DFP, like in Prologue?
Did you try all the settings?

dident you know?? i use the DFP with gt4 and it works just like that get to a tight hairpin and you have to turn the wheel heapps. it really just turns like a real car.

just like its a annoying doing a 3 point turn ya have to spin the wheel around and around and around

I have a problem....
i tryed playing prologue with my DFP, steering doesnt work, pedals dont work, buttons dont work....
the right led is on, the left flashes...I tryed entering the 900 degree code to no avail...
HELP PLEASE!!!

power cables are in....!!
it doesnt matter which usb its plugged into?
does a controller need to be plugged in in conjunction with the wheel!!!
OMGSzZ!! Quick need help getting gt4 in about 2 hours!!!
does anybody no what the flashing left led means!@!?

Nimbus - do you have anything else plugged into USB? I've heard that other devices (flash drives, etc) can interfere with the signal.

A normal controller doesn't necessarily need to be hooked up for the wheel to work, but it's best to leave one hooked up anyway. I've got mine hooked up with DS2+DFP, haven't had any problems so far. TOCA, NFSU, GT3, da widdle Toyoda demo.. they all work fine.

nothing else is plugged into the usb
ive returned the dfp, for a new one, also has the same problems
rang logitech, they said they never heard of such an issue and that it could be my ps2...??!
my usb ports are fine, driving force wheel and eye toy work perfect...
the green light in the booklet says something about being on when fully calibrated, yet the manual says nothing about how to calibrate the wheel.
prologue options are vague and provide no help whatsoever!!!

any other ideas? extrememly pissed off!!!!

Is your PS2 modchipped? Or are you using an American DFP on a foreign PS2? If it's the modchip, you're probably out of luck. Wait for the American version of the game.

Yesterday i drove to a good friend of mine in cologne, because the Christmas Gift from his Girlfriend was a DFP and on monday he bought a "Gamechopper" from the "Dittrich Design GmbH".

The gamechopper is a pretty cheap racing seat (79,- Euro) and it´s quality is superb (for this price it´s actually amazing). When i was on my way to cologne i didn´t expect such a good finish and such an amazing steering wheel. Really every position of the Seat (pedal plate, plate for the Steering-Wheel, degrees of the seat......) is free adjustable.

I drove with the Falken Skyline for almost 2 and a half hours and today everything hurts :)

But it was great fun, so today i ordered my own Gamechopper and DFP (Gamechopper will be delivered next week and i will pick up the DFP tomorrow).

Since last years summer i have been thinking about buying a racing seat and a steering wheel, or about a self made racing seat. I´ve already been searching for used Car Seats at "eBay". But i would have never been able to design and manufacture a seat of this quality and it would have costed at least 150,- Euro.

The look is not really "Racing-like" but it´s kind of "stylish" and if you are under 200 cm you will always find a perfect position.

This could be interesting for everyone who always thougt about a good racing seat, but never wanted to spend something between 300,- and 700,- $ for a seat.

Next week i will post some Informations about the delivery-Time and about my racing times on nurb when i really know how to use the Wheel !

Hi where (under what link) can one buy this gamechopper for EUR 79.- ??

Thanks.

Cheers,

This has probably been answered in one of the 40 pages of posts or elsewhere, but
does anyone know if an american dfp will work with a japanese PStwo? Also if anyone
could tell me what it would take to hook up the japanese PStwo to an american tv (if
it's possible) that'd be great

Japan NTSC format.... US ...NTSC...format... Japan 110V... US...110V .....perhaps ?!

Lol, it took a long time but I finaly read every page of this post, still didn't find the answer. The question: how do you stop the DFP loss of input problem from happening? this is the prpblem where the pedals stop responding / get stuck, and the wheel is also unresponsive. It's only happened to me twice but I lost a race because of it, and it's a little worrisome coming from such an expensive wheel.

Happens to me in GT3... Hopefully the same doesn't happen in GT4.

It´s pretty simple:

www.gamechopper.de

Or use google with "Gamechopper", "Racing" and "seat".

I found a lot of informations from PS2-mags, tests and details !

...seen that... though the other guy mentioned something that he bought it for 79 EUR and NOT 99 EUR as on the www.gamechopper.de ...and that was what I wanted to know as it's like 20% less...
¨
...never mind though...

funny how it just crashes like that, mine does the same on GT3.
i don't think there's a fix for it, just keep your DS2 plugged in
and near by so you can hit pause then reboot the wheel.

Does anyone know if the DFP makes alot of noise when being used? I saw someone use a original wheel and it made a bunch of whining sounds, so wondering of the DFP does the same, better or worse?

It still makes a bunch of whining sounds but it doesn't have that plastic rattle sound.
