Okay I do need practice but the steering on GT4 is irritating me. Does anybody know how to like turn off the shaky steering? I don't even know what's an active steering or DFP Power assist is. I turned both of them on, I turned the feedback on mild and I used the steering type on simulation, then the steering is wobbling again. Can anybody help me?

i have active steering off. Im pretty sure its more realistic with that off. and im using simulation mode. (should I go back to pro?) Drifting doesnt seem to be much of a problem with sim mode like it was with gt4.

Has anyone noticed a small dead spot when the wheel is at center position? Although the car in game responds in this area the force feedback does not and in this area the wheel moves free back and forth with no resistance. It is just a little annoying but at least the game responds to this movement. It would just be nice if it were tight in the center as it is throughout to the left or right.

Yea I also noticed that part also from the DFP. I thought it wus the abussive of turning the wheel to quickly and it starts to wear it down and make it weaker. :grumpy: It would be alot better if it has more resistance right from the center but o well.

Is there a calibrate section/reset for the wheel in GT4, I am having an issue with the pedals becoming unresponsive or not using their full range on occasion. Really sucks in licence tests when the throttle disappears and I have to tap the gas again to get throttle back.

Can someone double confirm to me that DFP is compatible with Grand Prix Legends and GTR? Is there a thread you can point me to as these threads are getting so large it's hard to find some answers

Thanks
Jon B

I can confirm that the DFP is 100% compatible with GTR (full German version with patches). Using the newest wingman driver, you can actually program the DFP to turn as much degrees or less as you want. I used the DFP with GPL before as well. Now with that new driver, it should be superrealistic driving!!! :)

Tested my DFP with the GTR Demo and works just fine. Will probarly work with most games since it is detected as a standard wheel in winxp

Check out that new driver, LGS460ENU, and your DFP will be detected as a DFP not a standard wheel in windows XP 👍

You can download this driver directly form "9mm" post on page 56 (this thread).

Then yesterday I was playing with it, and in the middle of the race the gas pedal suddenly becomes very unresponsive. I thought it was just a connection loose, but I checked them all dozens of time and restarted it and tryed it at least five times. The problem is when you're racing you'll floor it, but the car wont accelarate fully- the little blue throttle metre only goes up like 3/4 the way, then you'll take you're foot off the gas and the car will still accelarate for a little while. The thing is the brake pedal works perfectly fine and so was the gas pedal before yesterday. I'm wondering if there any replacement pedals for the DFP? because i think the warranty might be up (purchased in aug 04) does any one else have this problem? thanks.

This has been discussed many times. If you did a search, you should have found the answer to your "pedal" problem.

this is a copy of my post on page 60:

This link deals with the problems the MOMO racing pedals have. You can use this link due to the fact that the DFP and MOMO racing have the same potentiometers and the same problems.

This is the thread which deals with all the DFP problems, you can find this thread under GT4 Prologue, not GT4!!!!!!!

Thanks yo!!!! I was thinking about buying another pedals... But I repared them yesterday!! A bit of super glue on the pedal potenciometer (bcuz it wasn't fixed on its basement and it moved everytime I touch the pedal) and voilà!! They work perfect now!

Thanks again!!! :sly: :dopey: 👍

I know i can do it in options, but isnt there a button or buttons i can press while watching a replay to turn on the little driving force pro steering wheel in the lower center of the screen? Please somebody tell me. thx :)

Also.. for some reason tight hairpin turns are tough.. i'll figure it out though. I've never played any other racing game where hairpin turns were this tough to drift around. I always end up understeering or turning in too soon. :yuck: I'm talking about the ones on that CHallenge- tarmac battle

For some reason when I hold the wheel straight, it rocks uncontrollably, anyone else get this problem?

i think u press select during the replay, when i pause the game and press select the steering wheel comes up.
when i pause the game it doesnt come up. my select button is the pause button.

Well I just got GT4 yesterday. I played it for the first time today. I hooked my DFP up. You know the wire you have to plug into the PS2? Well when I plug the DFP wire into the PS2, it only works on the top outlet. Its hard to explain...... You know the 2 rectangle shape outlets southwest of the Controller 1 slot? When I plug my DFP to the bottom one I get nothing. The wheel still does the little self adjustment while the game is loading, but when I press the buttons I get no response. No respones from the d-pad(the one on the DFP) or the the other buttons on the DFP.

But when I plug my DFP to the top outlet thingy everything works fine. This happened to me when I tried playing GT3 with the DFP. It is wierd how it only works if I plug it into the top one.

When I play Nascar Thunder 2004, I plug it into the bottom one and it works fine. But on GT3 or GT4, I get no response. Its not a problem because I can still play GT4 fine if I plug it into the top outlet thingy.
Does anyone else get this problem?

Try 2 player with it connected to the bottom one. Maybe it is for the second player.

I just started playing GT4 today. The force feedback with the DFP seems kind of weak. It is on the strongest level. When I played GT3 with the DFP, the force feedback felt alot stronger. Maybe because I played GT3 in 200 degree mode and GT4 is 900 degrees? I am playing on the default settings. I did notice though, that when I start getting lots of speed it gets a little stiffer. But it still feels sort of weak. Is this a problem with my certain game or DFP? Or is everyone getting weak force feedback?
Please help. Thanks.

well, its the truth so there really arent any other opinions possible :) the bottom usb port is for 2nd player. :)

Does everyone here play with the top usb port when playing 1 player? Does everyone here play with the top usb port when playing bythemselves?

Thank you. I just need this clarified.

Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your DFP (I think). You have 2 USB ports on your PS2, like you have 2 controller ports. 1 (the top USB port) is for player one and the second is for player 2, just like you can hook up 2 DS2 to play with 2 players at the same time.

Don't worry that much, you are among friends here who can and will help you

hmn, thats weird.....does it happen alot?.....maybe ur wheels are slipping? sliding? bumps?
No, it was a straight road, and the wheels weren't sliding. If I hold the wheel with two hands I can contain it usually, but if I only have one hand on the wheel, it'll shake uncontrollably while going straight..
