I swear this is the last time i am answering a question that has already been answered 200 times before. :grumpy:

Stronger force feedback, sturdier. More detailed force feedback and stronger potential force feedback.
plus it also works for the pc which is a good reason to buy it if you own multiple racing games for the PC. THe steering lock is adjustable on the PC. and the Force feedback settings are highly customizable 👍

The NON PRO drive Force works the same on PC as it does on PS2 as well. I already tested it.

Can anyone help!!!?

i have been looking through this massive thread for ideas. I have a DFP and my pedals are playing up. Earlier i noticed that my throttle wasnt quite on full when i had the accelerator depressed hard. I have unscrewed the base to have a look, anyone got any suggestions?

Search = Friend

At the top of this thread, click the underlined Gran Turismo 4 so that you go back to the Gran Turismo 4 forum. At the top of that there is a search box. Enter "pedal problems" and click "go". From there, it is the 4th item down.

finally I got the wheel as well..and it's amazing. a complete total different experience I must say. In the controller there was hardly any feedback, I was still playing it like GT3. You can get pretty good times with it though but ugly tire controll and hard to be super smooth. Now with the wheel it's almost as if I have te re learn the driving :S There goes the dual shock practise with GTP. Picking it up fast though,,,,I'm thinking about golding all the license tests again but now with the wheel, Those license tests really learn you a lot you know. And finally I can learn how to drift. Almost impossible to learn with the controller...still need a lot of practice but I'm starting to get the workings.....

Apart from the Looks, 900 deg. steering and Gearstick.... What other differences are there in comparision to the Driving Force wheel??

As a proud owner of a DF and a DFP, I have to say the Looks, 900 Deg. Steering and Gear stick are the big differences... Reliability, quality of the product and expensive price are at par to what they offer.

If you own the DF, chances are that you have to be curious of the DFP; if you don't then, if you have the budget, go for the DFP (and give yourself some time to get use to it).

It is a huge difference in the overall game play.

Man, I just became a member of the DFP people on here. I just got my DFP in today. It looks and feels awsome. Now I have to get used to driving with it, and get as good as I am with the contorller.

Now that is what I call the ultimate setup.....OMG!!

Anyway, I wanted to add my 2 cents on the adjustment from DS2 to DFP. I guess some people don't have that much patience, but it will take a minute to get use to the DFP. This is my FIRST EVER racing wheel. I have always played games with the analog stick of my DS2. I tested a lap comparison on Nurburgring. I recorded a time of somewhere in the ballpark of 7.40 using the DS2 in the Calsonic R32 race car. When I got my DFP, I used the same car and recorded a time of 8.05. This slower time, IMO is largely do to not use to using my feet to apply brake and gas. So, I could tell that I was slowing down to much, and not giving it enough gas on corner exits. Basically, with a little time your lap times will decrease. I love my wheel, and it has me smiling the whole race.

I'm also having this problem .It has been posted before , but I don't like reading 89 ages in-depth again.
When I turn my wheel into 200° mode (GT4) , On the straight parts , when i go faster than 140km/h my wheel starts shaking all over me. You can see the G-meter going from left to right.

(DFP)

I also noticed that if you let off the gas, it still is reading slightly that you are pressing on it. I turned off the power assist, and it still reads that way. Anyone else having the same issues? Not that it bothers me entirely.

Hi everyone.

Great site.

Hope someone can help me.

I'm a complete numpty when it comes to using a FF wheel in a driving game, I've been brought up entirely on the DSC.

Can anyone suggest a good car and track to get accustomed to the DFP and FF in GT4?

Or ineeed if any of the missons or Licences, if they would be better?

P.S. My DFP is in the post.

You can't really go wrong with Tsukaba Circuit for beginning, nice quick chicane, tight hairpins and the long sweeping bend. A few laps of that and you'll get used to how much movement is needed for the desired effect :)

Oh, and welcome to the club :sly:

the S2000 is a really easy car to drive. i suggest that on tsukuba also. And then for a jolt to the system the nurburgring. :)

Just got my DFP and so far i have these settings

Power assits = off
Active assit = off

I would say take the GT Force down to at least professional. But if it works for you, then don't change! ;)

I think my wheel is broken with a week of playing :(

There is now no diffrence between Professional and Simulation force feedback wise.......I have no luck with these things.

Now I need to call and complain to logitech.

Whats the manufatures warrenty in the US on the DFP?

Hey fellow gaming addicts. Just got my DFP today. Ordered it through Securemart.com for $94.56, new (total was about $108 with shipping). Guess now I have to buy GT4 as well and take advantage of that Logitech $20 rebate before it expires on March 31st. Hopefully I won't have any GT4 issues cuz I got my PS2 when it was first released. I've read that some people have had issues, and some have had it work fine on theirs. Just gotta wait and see. Just tried it out on GT3 and felt like a total amateur. I couldn't drive worth $#*+!!

If your DFP is broken from normal use Logitech will replace it no problems.

If anybody's interessted in securing the pots in your pedals like I did, check out update 9 (you have to go way down into post number 2...theres a lot of pics before that).

Update 9 is about putting extra cushins under the pedal-arms, so that you don't accidentially press the pedals too hard causing the potentiometers to go beyond what they can handle. And the fix does not break the warranty.

Well, hope you can use this :)

thanks mate, i read that before just after you first posted it 👍, gonna do that to mine once i get a chance.

Has anyone else encountered a problem with a complete failure of the start and right dpad buttons working? This is my 2nd DFP now since I replaced the first one due to the braking problem (and had to wait a week due to a lack of stock). I got this second one from an online retailer, and hence returning it is more of a pain in the bum than if I got it from a shop (none in stock anywhere).

I did search for this issue, but no results showed up: apologies if I'm repeating a previous discussion.

EDIT - After further testing, the left paddle and R2 are exhibiting the same malfunction. Logitech are to experience my wrath.

Try pluging it into the other USB port. I have an older PS2, but not the one with the I-link. I have the 7 model (when they did away with the I-link). Anyways, I noticed that if I plug it into the bottom USB port, and turn the game on, the wheel will power on, and go through it's normal configuration. However, it will be disabled, and no buttons will work, nore can I steer or navigate through the game. I plugged it into the top USB port, and every thing becomes A..OK!

Another little tip, in case someone didn't address it already (or I just happen to miss it), is if you find yourself playing, and you see that when you take your foot off the gas but it still is reading a little on the game. Just pause the game, unplug the DFP from the USB port, and plug it back up. Let it reconfigure, and it should read fine then.

I tried that (and much else), but to no avail. It's currently on it's way back, and I should get another replacement in the next two weeks. Must've got one from a truly screwed batch :(
