I just realized you actually made that seat out of raw materials.. đź‘Ť

Here's mine... it's not 100% complete - as I've got to replace a couple longer bolts with shorter ones and add an additional top brace under the DFP and some cross bracing to prevent side-to-side twisting - but I've already used it without any issues. Best 50$ + 8 hours I've spent with the thing so far...

I used unequal length legs for the DFP section so that I could take advantage of different angles if need be and also so that it wouldn't have to be so ridiculous to get in and out of. I drilled a couple of extra holes for the pedal module supports as well - in case I needed different angles - but as it is now, I couldn't imagine driving with the pedals at a more shallow angle. The whole calf vs shin muscle situation.

Has anyone done the squash ball fix to their pedals for the DFP? How far do you think it went to giving the brake pedal more feel, does it make it feel much more like a normal cars brake pedal. The other thing I was wondering about this was would it limit your capability to brake at 100%? Would the squash ball cause the brakes to only be at say 90% of full braking power even when you push it down as far and hard as you can.... like the red bar never be able to get completely full?

doesn't GT4 auto calibrate before each stage? making the need for drivers to depress the gas and brake pedles before the race? if so then when you press the brake down on top of the squash ball it will mark the begining / end points making 100% full braking posible even though you may lose a little travel.

i'm a PC dfp gamer so i used to use DXtweak2 to adjust travel. now with the new 4.60 drivers i don't have the need to.

Hey,

I ordered my DFP tonight and i was wondering if it was just plug-in and go, or do you have to set it up, if so what are the best settings to use?

thanks

I have a question. My DFP doesn't quite work with GT3. It seems like all cars stand on neutral. I can shift, and the gas and brake pedals work but the car only revs up and stands there. Doesnt move.

I've found it rather tempremental, regarding start up. If you follow the instructions (plug in pedals + power, then usb to ps2, then turn on ps2), it doesn't always work.

I find that the following works: Plug in all leads (except usb to ps2) power up wheel and playstation. once GT4 has loaded, plug in the usb and the wheel starts calibrating itself.

You don't need to calibrate it, (as in full lock right, full left and centre etc). There are a few options to fiddle with, the level of steering assistance (i choose none) the level of feedback (strong) and the 'realism level' (Simulation).

Thanks alot Raify :) i was looking out the window to see if my DFP would arrive today but no...
Should deffo arrive 2moro now and ill use the same setup as you
cheers đź‘Ť

No, it was a straight road, and the wheels weren't sliding. If I hold the wheel with two hands I can contain it usually, but if I only have one hand on the wheel, it'll shake uncontrollably while going straight..

Me too. I have seen this prob a few times in the thread but haven't seen any answers (or fixes). Once I get to about 360KM/hr + the wheel shakes like hell and the car starts moving all over the track. Very difficult to drive and exhasuting to drive for a long time on a fast track.

Need help. Using DFP, Feedback strong, 900 degress, FF 100%.

I agree, it rocks, and if you don't like it, don't use it ! Why would anyone rather drive with a button than a wheel ... just does not make sense. And if you struggle with the wheel, practice makes perfect !

Mine only shakes really bad when doing 350kmph down a straight, otherwise I can drive it with one hand all the way around a track !

Decrease the force feedback to 60% ... and any car going at more than 300 WILL shake no matter what you do !

I just got my DFP and the FF is so weak, almost like its loose or broken. I downloaded the drivers and calibrated it to 150% to test if the FF even works. Now I can get it to the right setting on the computer, but when I plug it back into the ps2, it's the same, loose DFP.

Am I missing something where? Help!

The only time my DFP ever shook at a high speed was when I was trying out the 200 Degree mode and not 900. You might want to check to make sure you are in 900 mode.

HI everyone!!

I got my dfp thursday and at the begining itt was a bit difficult to get used to..Started with a S2000 at tsukuba then moved to el capitan with a impreza spec c
In gt3 with a ds2 whell I did drifts all the way now with gt4 and dfp it's a ***** hell
I have just one question..i found a bit difficult to turn, I can only make 180Âş with no problems, besides that it's pure wresling with the wheel!!

Here are my settings(anything missing?): 900Âş, ff 60% , all aids off and ff in gt4 at mild.Theres an extra option concerning the drive style(amateur, professional etc) but thats for df right?
What about driving a LMP?Oh my god it's insane feeling all the bumps and chea**
The only problem are the gears..In these typre of cars i can only shift with the paddles

:)

Here are some older pictures of my COCKPIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Notice the subwoofer BOX underneath the seat that will also soon have built-in speakers installed on the lumbar region.(didn't have the time to install them yet) This thing shakes the whole freaking house already.

The seat is like new and the widescreen HDTV monitor is on the way... nothing way too fancy though. It will fit on that gap just right...

A lot have changed since these pictures were taken...

To be honest, it does have a "few" extra pounds than I'd like!!! + the cost was way more than I anticipated when I started, but being so anxious to get GT4 after waiting for so long was driving us all into madness... I'm sure you guys can relate. It was was worth though.

in the dark... :D

A lot was already improved but there are still a lot of things to be done, as far as the driving position I think it's just where I want it to be... the seat is even more comfortable than the ones in my car and it also weights less than half as much!!!!

any comments or suggestions are very welcome, good or bad,

I'll have new current pictures soon...

It just takes time to get used to it. After your 2nd race you should be used to the controls. The trick to drifting in gt4 compared to gt3 is that you have to wait untill the last minute before you counterster, and you have to throw the weight of the car more. One awsome thing about gt4 is that a stock trueno can actually drift well, unlike GT3. đź‘Ť

BTW, i suggest using radial tires (N2 and N3) as much as possible to get you used to the controls plus you get more ASpec pts.

I disagree with people who say the DFP FF is weak. My mate brought one & the other day we were playing GT4 with 900 mode on & the FF was so strong it was difficult to keep the le man cars in a straght line. I also was very strong going over kurb's & things. I compared it to my DF2 & it was a lot stronger & with the DFP I was able to get Gold on several license tets that i previously couldn't get Silver on with the Dual Shock Pad or DF2. Now i must gather together some money & buy a DFP for myself :)

it varies from person to person.. some say its too weak.. others complain its too strong. The only thing that isnt right about the wheel really is it doesnt react quickly enough when drifting but because of the forgiving physics it doesnt hinder the driver.

If you've ever drifted or seen the incar view of a car drifting, you will get what i mean about the steering being too sensative( but not sensative enough for WRC cars....), and the wheel not reacting quickly enough.

Its better in games like LFS where you can finetune the force feedback... but the physical limitations of the wheel are still pretty obvious when drifting. When racing, its not too noticable.

In my dfp I can turn easily 90Âş left or right, besides this degrees it's more difficult to turn..is this normal?
In my opinion I think the ff is well balanced.I tried the mild setup and the response is normal, now with the setup at strong...driving at the ring with a m3 or drivind a lmp at le man is pretty fun :dopey: :dopey: :dopey:

Hi I just got myself a Logitech Driving Force Pro.

And when I turned on GT4, the wheel didnt auto-calibrate itself as I read in some forums it was supposed to do! Whats happening? Is anything wrong with the wheel?

Futhermore, the 2 green LEDs just above the center GT logo, only the right LED is lighted up in green. The left LED is blinking!!
Whats happening!?

Help!

Hi Aloozer,

Happens to mine as well sometimes ... it's the sequence of switching on your playstation and DFP ... leave the PS2 on ... plug out all the connections (USB and power for DFP), and plug it back in ... I don't know the correct sequence, but for some reason, the way Logitech syas in the DFP little manual does not work for me ... I plug in DFP, then switch on PS2 ... try the various sequences, it should work then, let me know ! đź‘Ť

And another thing, one can even plug in the DFP after GT4 has loaded ... the calibration can happen anytime (calibration is when the wheel moves by itself left and right etc.), you'll know it, cause this thing is LOUD haha

Hi, thanks for replying!

I've just tried..but to no avail :(
same thing is happening. only right green led lights up. And it only turns the full 2 1/2 turns to the right! but only turns 90 degrees to the left!

Whats more, the pedal/brake set isnt working too! when i entered Home..Options..and tried to calibrate it by going to the "driving force pro" icon, the "Steering" section is greyed out!!!

Hi Aloozer,

Which of the 2 USB ports are you using, use the TOP one ... not the bottom one ... mine also did not work on the bottom one ... other than that ... um ...

Reboot everything ... switch off power to PS2 and pull out DFP power ...

1. Plug pedals into DFP at the front.
2. Plug USB cable into PS2.
3. Plug power in for DFP and turn it on.
4. Plug power in for PS2.
5. Switch on PS2 ... make sure power is working for DFP, cause the lights can come on even though the power is not plugged in ...

Should work ... otherwise wheel is probably stuffed !?

Anybody else knows ?

dang!! It just worked!! Thank you God Kragbee!

oh man..scared the hell out of me. I thought the seller sold me a faulty set and felt damn pissed.

But really, whats the cause of it all? How did you know the sequence that would get the wheel to calibrate? Was all those numbered steps that u mentioned, all written in the manual?
I'm gonna copy paste and save what you wrote somewhere down to my hard drive.

phew
Thanks once again !!

Howzit Aloozer,

haha thanks for the good words haha.

Not sure why the sequence which Logitech gives in the manual does not work ... but I had the same problem as you ... in fact everytime I switch on my DFP it does not work, so have to do the same procedure as well ...

No, the steps as I gave is not the same as the manual I think ... I just played around and that seemed to work like a charm !

Basically I think DFP and everything must be on before switching on PS2 ... đź‘Ť
