I am having this exact same issue. When I set up my GT Force Pro and GT4 today it was all fine. After I turned off my PS2 and then started again - no 900 mode! What is wrong. Nothing in the setup has changed, I unplugged everything with the power off and on but still no 900!? Arggggggh!

For those having this problem I too had this issue and I got so pissed that I opened the bitch up to see what was wrong. There is a locking mechanism that releases the pins which hold it into 360 mode. This is a little foward and back sliding white gear. I was able to manually move the gear into the 900 position and 900 degrees works fine. Only problem I am having is that this must be done after calibration because after calibration it locks again in 360 mode. Also this disables the ability to set the wheel at anything between 360 and 900. PM me for more information if you are confused. I would really like a permanant fix for this **** though, it has been going on with me for months now.

Hey all,

Quick question; is the "Logitech Driving Force Pro PS2 Racing Wheel" compatible with PC? An acquaintance of mine is trying to sell me his - my beloved Momo Red has kicked the can after hundreds of thousands of virtual miles :( - and he keeps telling me that the DFP PS2 Wheel is PC compatible. The name itself throws me off, however I might as well as give a second opinion because one of my other options would be the astronomically expensive G25... but I digress. Again; Is the Logitech Driving Force Pro PS2 Racing Wheel PC compatible?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Yeah... thanks man. You know, I figured, I mean, it is in the name and all. That would have been a big rip off, considering I already have a PS2 wheel. I just need to replace my old Momo Red...

Dave

as far as i know u can't
CORRECTION:
The dfp can be turned to either 200 degree turn or 900 degree mode on any Sony game it seems. Press Select R3 and the right gear shift paddle. Iwent back on gt 4 to see if I could switch modes this morning, and it worked switching modes on both gt 3 and gt 4. MY APOLIGIES FOR YHE INCORRECT POST:dunce:

Yes you can use the DFP with your PC, you just need to go to the Logitech site and download the patch.

Cheers,

Dave.

Does anyone have a photo of a G25 cockpit setup yet? I'd like to get one but I'm not fond of the price.

I got a DFP too. What's with this force feedback stuff? If I het a wall my car just starts steering itself. Somehow it can make any car oversteer out of control as well. I unplugged the power cord and drove around with it. Fun, so much fun I decidd to restart my game and do it all over with my cool new DFP.

kids these days..

well, if he would had spoken of G25 I would had slapped him for blasphemy.:ouch: :irked:

seriously, why to buy a FFB wheel if you're not going to use the main feature of the wheel?:banghead: :odd: get used to it.

and if you would had driven a REAL car, you'd know that the steeringwhel does kick back in some occasions..

thanks for destroying my faith in mankind.

I got a DFP for Christmas and i'm loving it. I always make sure I have the force feedback set as high as possible so any bumps really throw the wheel about, makes powerslides and whatnot much more accurate. I love finally being able to feel what the car is doing!

Feels a bit strange when playing Race Driver 3 though, no matter how i set it up you have to steer really far to get the car to turn even a little bit. The only other option is to set it to 200 mode and have over sensitive steering 👎 Other than that it's brilliant. WRC Evolved is a totally different game with it.

I GOTS ME A DFP!!! :scared:👍

I'm now part of the cool club. My God! I can't believe I played GT4 without it, makes it much more challenging and fun. I just took the 205 T16 for a drive around Trial Mountain, purely orgasmic! :dopey:

I love your avatar! Those 'no touching' signs with the kids on made me laugh when i first saw them on my DFP :dopey:

I got one too. I remember hearing those who had one talk about how much of a difference it made and me thinking that it can't be that big of a deal.

I was wrong. <---- Mark this, because I don't say it often.

With the controller I would have to work to beat a Family Cup on a 10 setting but I did it with ease last night and a couple of seconds to spare. Who would have though that a stock '95 Eclipse (with soft sports tires) could beat Vipers, Corvettes, Pagani Zondas, and a few other high powered sports cars with a few seconds to spare?

Anyway, it has changed how I play the game and is making a drastic improvement in my times.

Anyone that doesn't have a DFP, but can afford one, I suggest you get it. You'll thank me later.

^ This man speaks the truth, it REALLY does make all the difference. Driving the Yellowbird on The Ring now has become a huge event where I grin for 7 minutes straight. :D

Aight, no fan boy comments or what ever, i've got a PS2 and GT4 myself, love it, but lately i've bought a 360 and mainly for TDU (great game)

Right now my bankaccount aint really voting for another racing wheel, so i was figuring, aren't there a way to make my DFP work on the 360?

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble. Whenever I plug my DFP into my PC, it does its calibration/warmup routine where it spins the wheel right and then left...and then it does it again...and then it does it again...and then it gives up and both green LEDs start blinking.

The rate of motion seems to be slower than usual, and since I always have it in 900*, it starts out that way but never clicks into 200* (usually it warms up by rotating in 900*, then rotating in 200*, then clicking back into 900*). Also, the wheel's input isn't recognized at all in the control panel.

I've read that the left LED blinking means that there's a power problem, but the wheel still rotates almost as fast as it always has, and I don't know what the blinking right LED means.

Is there any hope, or should I just upgrade to the G25 already? I was planning on buying the G25 as soon as my DFP died, but I didn't think it would be this soon...

Are you using the latest Wingman team (WHQL) 4.60 drivers?
I've been using my DFP on my PC for at least a year now without troubles.
The few times I've gotten the alternating blinking lights, I've solved it simply by yanking the USB cord, re-plugging & recalibrating.

I've noticed that the mis-calibrations seems to happen more when I reboot with the wheel plugged in. More often than not, the wheels calibration cycle gets interrupted by the windows boot sequence.
So you might try a fresh reboot 'without' the wheel, plugging it in only once Windows is done booting.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the tips. I have a feeling that the problem Gabkicks had is the same exact one I'm having, so I'll give that fix a try. I'll let you guys know if it works.

The problem you guys were describing in that thread was definitely the same problem, Gabkicks. For whatever reason, the actuator that switches between 900 and 200 can't switch to 200, although it goes from 200 to 900 easily during calibration (Pressing select+R3+R1 does nothing now).

I've found a solution, although it would be much less of a pain in the ass if I could find a working flashlight in this house:

So now I've got a DFP with a useless, half-disassembled pedal set (dead accelerator potentiometer), and a hole drilled into the top of the steering unit. But hey, it'll still work for a while yet. The G25 can wait.
