I´m going to buy it but i think this is way too poor.
Waiting for months and the lack of news about it...just a leak a week ago and then you see it one day before it comes out...i mean this is not great at all and it is more like an obvious addition to the game because of the Motegi appearance in GT Academy and not one of those announced DLC´s that we had before. It just a casual addition.
And the car is just like say, "hey US crowd, you asked for it when we released the Toyota, now you have it". And we can´t complain at all about the car because it is free.
Now we can start to speculate about a future and probably last update (Spec 3.0) with whatever PD wants to try in the game or just more bug fixes with a DLC because by now the game is "too old" for release more content if you want to "keep" something for the next game, if it is coming from here to 1 or 1 and a half year.
One point that we should mention about the other game is that they are releasing DLC car packs every month (new one for July) at an average 10$...but the base game had more than 500 "only" (a great list yes) and now they are adding tons more BUT with a huge cost (to my eyes a robbery, don´t care if those cars are great and don´t care if no one is forcing me to buy the DLC)...now about GT5...do you think that we should spend more money in a game with 1000 cars? (don´t care if 200 are "repeated" in some ways or are standard) It has no sense in some parts because you will never touch everyone of those cars and even after a while you don´t even care or just use one of 10. (if your favourite cars are not in the game you just bought the wrong game from the start too if you think that this is the "selling point" of the game not just features)
And don´t come at me saying that i am looking for excuses because i don´t...i have other games because no one has everything that i want. And that´s the right thing to do and not to wait months of your life for a single DLC. Just think about that.
From my experience with my 40 GB garage from rFactor (oh yes all for free) or all my other games (even i bought DLC´s for Race 07) i know what i am talking about.
The core list of the game must be good from the start no matter the amount of cars because you are always going to use your favourites not all the cars. The hard part is to do a great list that appeals to everyone that is buying the game.
And well i need to go now but i guess you all get the point...

PD have a marketing deal with Toyota. The 86/FR-S is a timed exclusive for GT5 and PD puts both cars in the game for free to market the cars. Some money probably changed hands. Remember that we got the 86 for free as well. At least be happy about PD securing some deals like this that we as customers get to benefit of in the end. Though we could always wish for some more lucrative deals in the future of course.

I gotta ask, what's the appeal of DLC anyways? Why do so many want it? Turn 10 releases monthly car packs and people praise that and buy it, releasing cars that have been modelled for quite some time, and it seems people are completely blind to that, Turn 10 aren't stupid, they know as soon as someone sees the new M5 or Veyron that they just have to have it, thus more money for them and Microsoft, and people will continue to buy their DLC even though a portion of those cars were probably modeled before the game wad released, if not shortly after. Turn 10 aren't the only bad ones here, just about every developer today has the DLC bug because they know people are "sheep" enough to buy it. This goes for Turn 10, PD, COD, etc. They'll release a free car, map, etc every once and awhile so we don't get suspicious.

Maserati has a single car,yet it has it's own standalone dealership.We didn't even got a really good Maserati neither.The MC Stradale would've been awesome

So? Your point? I'm suprized complainers are STILL complaining over something that's free to drive. And now they're saying PD is lazy and blah blah blah... WOW! I don't know what to say anymore.
The reason that people are complaining is that they could've spent their working potential(the interiors are different,so are some exterior parts)ON A NEW ****ING CAR!
I wish people would stop saying it's four tracks or that it's worth more than Spa and Kart Space because there are four different configurations. Two of those configurations are so minutely different to the full circuit they're not worth talking about as anything 'extra'. Yes they allow you to race on a smaller circuit but they don't add anything to the overall value of the pack, unless you like paying for the same thing three times.
It's the option that they give. If you want to spend a premium on those cars Turn 10 releases, you can. If you don't want to, you don't. It's the same with PD except they're really not giving us many options. I'm sure if PD offered 10 cars a month like them some people would still be unhappy because they're not the car they want, but the choice is there. They're offered up. PD aren't offering up anything.

Look at Battlefield 3,it has gotten 3GBs worth of free,game-fixing awesome updates,it gets some amazing DLC(Battlefield Premium includes it all 'nuff said)
What do we get?Tens and thousands of GBs of game fixes,because the game was released half finished!And it was worked on for 4 years,with a 65.000.000$ budget.Sony and PD need to sort this **** out
Fixing a broken half ass game with constant updates won't make me happy.It won't make my HDD happier neither.They needed to do a better work with this game in the first place

For 5 EU we should have gotten at least some weather effects!Spa for example was excellent,and I race daily at that track,simply love it!
yeah we got the Super speedway and now we have a decent Speedway. i don't see why 1 track with 4 varents isn't worth it. its about a 1.25 us per varent.

Because the fans now are so desperate for content that they'll buy ANYTHING that Kazunori releases
Let's not also forget that they admire Kazunori-san like he was some sort of divine mystical creature,and they'll never open their eyes and realize that GT5 got the ****tiest DLC I've seen for a while after a 5 month wait

Have you actually tried all the premium cars yet? I haven't, and I've been playing it basically from release.

With pCARS another Racing sim will be available on PS3 in 2013.
Maybe GT6 will be a PS3 Game too.

What BF3, and many other game are doing, is utter BS!
They charge you the price of the retail game for map packs and weapon skins. That's pathetic. Adding a real world track or car to GT5 (or other racing games) costs money, as the developer has to aqquire the license to use the track/car. Thus it's necessary for the devs/puplishers to ask for money for such content. The fact that we occasionally get free cars, is amazing in its own right.
Creating a small map (like in the BF and CoD franchise) doesn't cost a whole lot of money. On top of that, the majority of maps released as DLC have some of the most generic and atrocious design, ever.
I can certianly agree that the price of Motegi is too high (espicially given the price of the Spa DLC), but it's nowhere near as bad as other franchises.
And to those who complain about the car. How on earth were you people raised? Complaining about something you get for free? It's okay to complain about DLC prices. In fact, it can be downright necessary to do so, so to prevent devs/puplishers from taking advantage of consumers. But complaining about stuff you get for free, is just wrong. Even if you don't like the content (which is of course fine), you still got it for free. You didn't lose anything, nor were you required to do any work for it.
In the case of the rebadged Toyota, it's obviously a puplicity stunt to try and get some sales going for the US version of the 86. It's safe to assume that the car didn't take the place of any other car.
And on a final note. You might not like having the option to take old cars like the Kubelwagon out for a spin. But some of us do. It's a car that has real historic value. That alone, means it has a palce in the GT car library. It's not all about driving fast you know.
