Don't forget Racing helmets, museum cards, horn collecting and paint chip collecting being exclusive to GT too.
Racing games will never be the same again without museum cars and horns....

zr1chrisNot really since there are no rare cars in the Auction house. In the used car dealership some cars are hard to find and much more rare. You can get any car you want from the Auction house at any given time.
This is actually exactly what Im talking about. I like how it makes certain cars rare and hard to get. I know I might be in the minority on this one but its just my personal opinion.
Try telling that to the people in the beginning looking for a truck to race in that one early race and couldn't find one. Yeah a truck is rare and hard to get
In real life cars might be rare but if you got the cash they ain't hard to get at all. I think Forza does it better. It's there to buy as long as you got the cash. Rare cars are one's that people put on the auction house with their custom livery, mods and tunes.

You mean just how the GT section was before GT5's release....What I do find hilarious is no one is shouting bullshots left, right and center just like GT had...I wonder why. Still pick this up but people's urge to hate GT seems to be making them vulnerable ti believing the game will look like half these pictures, the gameplay videos still look great thopugh.
The unicorn cars are not different cars. They are cars we already have with liveries and tuned.
It seems like FM4 is a GT5 rip-off with better manufacturers. They copied many features from GT5 and added new ones.
There's actually 2 different types of cars that T10 sends you. VIP cars are current cars in the game with mods/tunes and liveries. You get these cars by simply being VIP, either paying for the VIP pack or being an LCE owner which gave you instant VIP access
Then there's actual unicorn cars which are really rare:
- 2006 Subaru Impreza S204
- 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe
- 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type-A
These apparently were gifted as prize cars if you participated (and maybe won) certain T10 exclusive events. Either races, time trials or paint contest type of stuff.
Don't forget Racing helmets, museum cards, horn collecting and paint chip collecting being exclusive to GT too.
I have Forza 3 LCE and got the vip gifted cars from time to time. The 3 unicorn cars you have listed I am pretty sure are in the game and can simply be purchased as any other car. Its been a while since the last time I popped the game in but I will be sure to check it out later when I get home.

These arguments always swing both ways.

The way I remember it, everybody who said anything negative about the game was immediately attacked by the GT Defense Force. I still remember the whole "standard cars are going to have a cockpit view because Kaz is a perfectionist and won't allow them to be in the game otherwise" thing.Hmm, didn't I say that people were saying GT's screenshots were bullshots?
That's how the GT section was. El Negativo Central.

Very true. Although rare cars aren't always crazy expensive in real life. I just think it would be nice to have a good mix somehow. My perfect scenario would have the pay scale (maybe slightly higher than Forza 3) and prices of Forza 3 but with any car of 5 years old or older having to be purchased in a used car dealer sort of like GT5. I would just have maybe 2 or 3 more dealerships. Each dealership would cater to a certain type of car. Examples would be: European dealer, American dealer, Asian dealer, Budget dealer, and Exotic dealer. If you really just wanted to hop in any stock car and use it then it would still be available in Arcade mode.Actually I've not got the 250 GTO or the Testarossa. About 15 million and 20 million credits worth in Forza.
They may be freely available to buy but for normal average Joe to purchase that's a lot of time to earn those credits.
GT5 I own all the 20 million cars. (4 i think).
I have been at the 20 million in game cap a few times.
Certainly with unique and expensive cars Forzas seem far more rare.
Unlike yourself however, I am not keen on rarity but if you like it then Forza will certainly tease you lol.

1997 Mazda RX-7: Purchasable at the Mazda dealership.
2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type-A: Unicorn car.
2006 Subaru Impreza S204: Unicorn car.
2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI: Purchasable at the Subaru dealership.
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS Coupe: Unicorn car.
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28: Purchasable at the Chevrolet dealership.
The unicorn cars can't be purchased ingame. They are close to some of the cars that can be purchased directly in the game, though. They can be won by participating in various community events, such as race events with T10 staff, livery contest and photo contest. At times, T10 put a set of unicorn cars up for auction at FM3's auction house. They went for huge amounts of credits, and I'm talking 100 million credits huge.
Highly sought after, pretty rare but by no means irreplacable if you never had the means to get your hands on one of them.
Both games copy each other to some degree and both copy things from other games. These aren't shooters with new stories. They are fairly straight forward racing titles, cars on track racing so PD, T10, everyone really would be stupid to not see what other racers are doing.
Head tracking in both GT5 and FM4 was an idea taken from PC sims, as an example.
I hope Forza 4 copies the legends stuff from Shift 2. I mean not just classic cars, but classic tracks to go with them. They even adjusted the lighting a bit at the tracks to give them a 'dated' look, fantastic.
People always talk about wanting the classic cars from bygone eras, but the tracks to go with them get neglected a bit. I'd love to see more of the old tracks added to these games, it gives a great sense of immersion to race on what a track once was (especially like the '67 Nordschliefe in GP Legends).
Care to name 5 features that Forza 4 copied off of Gt5?
Common are you serious? The first time I played FM3, I thought I´m playing GT...
They made GT for xbox360... But ok, maybe T10 made an better GT or an GT that US/EU gamers want 👍 I don´t need 70 variations of an skyline or 500 japanese cars...
