nd4, I understand what your saying. But im actually proud of the fact this time around you actually focused on the positive things of the cars. Lol instead of calling them piles. I use a DS2 and Citta is not my favorite course so I cant argue with you over times, but I can understand why others may question them.

IMO you did alot better than before

Opinion Time: It seems people hate my judging even though I normaly get similar results to many others. So how many people would rather I did not judge?

Now you know how I felt after VTC. :odd: Continue judging but you know that you can't please everyone. :P

I use a DS2 in a way as well. It's actually a Power Wave controller. It gives me almost as much control on the throttle through the x button as any pedal will, but alas I've used it to death and the joysticks are rooted now  I lose the finesse and control I once had on twitchier cars but I'm still managing OK. I'm not brilliant on Cita either, no one is it seems :P

I will judge AWD only if Mafia_Boy does as well.

I hope you're not thinking I would prefer you didn't judge... Please continue as you have. 👍
My comments are to be taken as they are read and as nothing more. :D

None the less, I still feel like the replays, video or replay files ala maxdrive are excellent evidence to support claims. Likewise, it really shows what the driver was doing and so you get an idea of where problems might have come from rather than just guessing about where something went wrong.

Finally, the racing line...
The corner in question is actually one of the corners were you can occasionally get away with an unusual line. However, for the most part it's best to play it safe and go with the traditional inside line for the long curve and carry it out for the quick left afterwards. 👍

When does judging actually end? Sorry in advance if its written in big bold letters somewhere and I've missed it.

I have my 2 week Easter holiday starting now, so I have 2 full weeks of nothing. I may get judging the RWD division, if thats okay. Dont except lightning quick times though. :P

How does this spot race thing work anyway? Surely you dont expect, for example, RJ to go to say, Mafs' house and have a 2P race?

Judging has no finish date set yet, and it will be me going to Maf's place since we are both Australian, just a short 10hr drive. :P

Since Mafia_Boy is going to judge AWD I guess I will too, and I'd like RJ to judge too, the more the merrier, (or the more the less there are sitting back and criticising :sly:). If I get time I will at least buy and build all the AWD cars this weekend.

So who will come over and race me? I'm all alone here! :( Unless Leo wants to book a flight to the UK in the next week or so. 💡

I already have my NSX-R (duh:dunce:), holden's Garaiya, Mafs' S14 and RJ's RX-8 built, so I only need to buy and build another 8 cars or so. 👍

Perhaps you missed the 10hr part :sly: It would actually probably be more. It'd be awesome to actually meet you guys.

As for AWD, I already have my 3000GT and Leo's GTR, that leaves 8 for me too :dopey:

Pyrelli was mostly quicker than me in FWD because he took a different, stranger, but better line to the hairpin.

I noticed that too, in my past posts.., Pyrelli was about 3-5 km/h slower than me on the corners, but how the heck did he pull off that T1 time in my car, I asked myself. I see now that it's all about racing lines.., Pyrelli must be damn good, fitting for a judge.., 👍

Lines are important, but also how well you keep up your overall momentum during the corner transitions determine speed at this course too :sly:

Also, My testing results are posted (:scared:)

Just had a read of your times and reviews, and it seems for the 2nd time now its my NSX-R and holden's Garaiya in a tie for 2nd and again being nominated for the spot race. Looks like you'll need to book a ferry over here holden if this keeps up.

If 36.6 was your CRUISE time Kurei, I'd love to see what you could do in full time attack mode. :D

But to elaborate on score/time. Firstly, spontaneous understeer....okay, didn't realise it had ANY. I was more worried about the oversteer. :) How did it become spontaneous??

And secondly, where does drifting24/7's trueno beat my car to get an equal score?? I'm nearly 3 seconds quicker. :odd:

Still, I'm impressed with the time, 36.5 was my best time overall but that was a one off, I was consistently in the 36.9-37.3 range after re-driving it last night.

As for AWD, I started doing it last night but then lost interest, so I tuned up a 299Kw Caldina instead. I'll get onto it today I promise, just woke up and everyone's still asleep (thank god!!) so I might sneak a car or two in quickly. :)

My oh my, my baby Bimmer did beat the big bad mid-engined monsters that had less weight and more power.. tsk tsk..

You won the battle, but for something that has 30hp more and 60Nm torque more than the Silvia, your T1 time isn't that quick. ;) Maybe that's why Kurei said everyone, even Grandma's can drive your car, it's the FR equivalent of Roj's Accord!!

*added bit* It's about an hour and a half since the post, and I've now started testing the cars. The Mr.Bishi's are all up first, roj's E8 MR's already done, next Holdenboy's 3KGT then my CZ-3, I'll give Part 1 of the comments after mine, then the next 3, then the final 3. :)

I've seen lots of chit chat in this thread but nothing much about the next tuner challenge.
Wouldn't you guys like to refine the process?
I'd like to see more user input on the short comings of previous Tuner Challenges. I'll probably stop playing GT4 when I get a PS3- that's years away as of now. :( Until that time though, I will continue to play GT4. At this point I find the most fun is in tuning and building (I'm not quite as fast as I once was and old school olr has lost its appeal to me).
The Tuner Challenges are my chance to continue playing GT4 with other people online... Keep that in mind when you see "the next tuner challenge" because right now, I plan on seeing many, many more tuner challenges.

That brings me to the next point...
I had an idea for an on-going tuner challenge spot race and discussion thread.
Entries posted will be reviewed like every other garage around the tuning section but standing lap time records will be posted for every car in the first post. 👍

Looks like my EvoVIII Mid engine Rear wheel drive (:P) is being tested finally, oh dear. :nervous:

And quit bashing on the Accord Mafs, just because it looks better than your Primera

Edit: That sounds like a great idea Kent, it'll be a chance to see who has the fastest car, and also who has the easiest to drive fast car. :)

Ok, lets answear some questions

mafia, why I prefer the Trueno is simply driving feel, its a Judge/Driver thing, but in the Trueno, I could feel everything going on, bumps, roll, slip etc, its a little more stiff than I'd like, but it gives good feedback. On your S14 though, during the sweepers, I found understeer, not "OmGZ i Tottly turnd teh wiiel reight bout i stiel go strayt!!!" understeer, but simply a lack of traction when I needed it more, causing a slight slide out but not enough to break traction, and the suspension could've been a little more supportive, its as stiff as it needs to be, but stronger anti-roll bars would've helped transfer the feeling of the road to the wheel and then to me, and that's where it beats it, simply driving feel

Also, maybe after my haircut tomorrow, I can see what the S14 can really pull 👍

And yes Leo, your BMW is on par with the "Touge Monster" Amuse S2000, in every category, if you want, maybe you could arrange something with Kent to challenge it when they do the Class battles :sly:

hey N4HS pick me up on the way through to see mafs ;)

Will do, you can experience that mad tyte aczelerashion of my Ute on the way down.

2 nominations for me and Roj to face off in the spot race, I'm feeling strangely confident I can beat him, given the right track :sly:

The right track being some twisty maze. :sly: If the track has 1 longish straight, I think the NSX-R can just power ahead of the Garaiya. :D

We've built 2 strangely different, yet equal cars score and time wise, nd 4 holden spd. :D:tup:

I don't know about that, the ASL's Accel is only matched by Snyp's Lotus really, If he came out of a corner fast enough you'd have your hands full just catching him

Also, you guy's are talking like the battle is going to take place elsewhere, I thought the battle was going to be held at Citta on the same stretch just like what they do in BMI Hot version

Did it get changed somewhere or what ?

Actually we don't know where the race will be, and I can asure you Roj, if it wasn't touge and we were at say GVS I would probably own you, this car just turns, and turns, and turns in longer, higher speed corners. Even in touge tune I think it went just under 1'55 lap times at GVS.
Do you drive manual Kurei?

Edit: Oh yeah, Kent, that ongoing spot race thing sounds brilliant, but it should have a WPR limit otherwise evryone will just bring out 600-700hp monsters :scared: Finally somewhere that speed counts :sly:

Yes I use manual, good fun with a DFP (and I use the shift knob, not the padels unless its an actual race car that would have them)

Any reason you asked why ?

Oh yea, I know that old trick, I use it in my Impreza to maximize torque output (Pic in sig)

Should add things like that to the notes of each car, so that the Judge drives the car with it in mind

Edit* Well Im off to bed, don't expect any response's from me until tomorrow

Yep, I could just hold in R2 or L2 for a higher shift though.

Edit: I didn't realise until RJ pointed it out the other day. My lap times were set normally.
