...Former Fox owner, current Jetta owner, I must be a Volkswagen fan.

BTW: Can we get some votes together and knock the Porsche 911 off the winning spot in the German car thread? Not to say I don't think the Porsche deserves the award, but IMO, the Bettle is far more important...

On the MKIV:

Quite frankly, it was one of the cars that first got me interested in Vee-Dubs (this was pre-drivers licence and consequently the '93 Fox), as I like the looks and the performance of the car. If the reliablity was up a bit, I'm sure that I could have gotten one by now, but the obsurdly high insurance rates have kept me away...

As of now, I've begun to look for a replacement for my '96 Wolfsburg. Although I'd love to opt out for a later Wolfsburg on the MKIV chassis, or even a GLI or GTI for that matter, the high insurance rates combined with the fact I would have to run premium fuel has been a put-off.

...Thus I've been looking into going back to my roots with a late-model Camaro Z/28. Although I don't want to necessiarily make the sacrafice for the "balance" of the Volkswagen lineup, the difference between the two in fuel mileage and insurance costs is so minimal that I'd almost be stupid to not get the Z/28.

...But we are still more than a year away from anything happening. I nearly bought a roughed up Scirocco 16V last summer as a project car, but the tight funds and the looming tuition costs have kept me away from expanding my "collection" of Vee-Dubs. I've been looking into Corrados as well, but once again I don't think I want to take a step back onto the MKII chassis with the penalty of higher insurance and fuel prices as well.

...Either way, I'm proud to say that it is looking as though I've successfully converted a few of my family memembers to become part-time Vee-Dub fans. My brother is looking to buy a used MKII Jetta in the near future, if not my MKIII, and my mother is looking into an MKIV TDI...

Sweet, I personnaly LOVE my VW and am planning on getting my girlfriend a Cany White 4dr. Golf TDI in January. Then we would have a Uni-black Jetta and a Candy White Golf. Hells yeah.

It maybe because I'm only 18 but I prefer the MKIV and V over everything else, I donno, but it's not that I don't like the other generations, I accually really like the MKIII Jetta's with euro bumpers, but I don't think I would ever own one.

And for the sameless picture horing.
