So without further ado, start your engines racers and above all do your best and have fun!

Why should I bother, I know I'm going to be outside the Top 20 anyway.:indiff:

Hey, I'm considering buying a wheel (in the hope it will make me faster, and that I could use manual gearbox), can someone please tell me if a wheel is any good when using the "chase" camera view? I like being able to see the outside of my car, as it's not real and you can't get as good a feel for the size of your car. Is it hard from the "chase" view with a wheel?
The other question I have about wheels, do they all make the loud noises like a rattle gun? (Especially the new one with the H-Shifter, does it make loud noises?)

If this doesn't lure Truth123 out of hiding I don't know what will! As for me, I suppose it's about time I learnt how to drive this car

+1

I've already tried it quite a few times on free run, and best I could do (without spinning out on some corner) was a 2'20.8xx. :indiff:

Don't mind me guys, I'll just waste a couple hundred $$ on a wheel I can't use.

When I used to play with a controller (in GT4), I used the chase view. But when I bought a wheel, I just couldn't play with that camera, I had to switch to bumper view because chase view didn't feel like driving anything (and I don't even drive in real life, as I'm underaged). I now use the inside view to play GT5P.
About the noise, it depends on your style of driving. The G25 may produce a rather loud noise during shifts, if you do it quickly and aggressively, especially with the added noise of the quickly pressed clutch. When you're just steering, that wheel is almost silent.

Not sure I'll run this one either .. blocks of ice for tyres just doesn't appeal to me :guilty:

According to the realistic tyres list, S2 are the real tires for the NSX Type R. And it's always more fun with less traction. :mischievous:

The wheel is rubbish with chase cam, and it depends what you mean by loud watch some youtube videos.

2'24.206s after 5 laps of agony.

I seriously doubt this car handles like this in real life, it's plain dangerous.
It's one of my favourite cars of all time, but I'm starting to hate it with a passion.

Sorry mate I would have replied but I thought it best to let a G25 user answer you :guilty: Here's my quick view anyway ..

After racing Gran Turismo games since 2000 all the way through to a couple of months ago .. I raced behind car view on the DS2 and bloody fast too ;) anyway GT5P came out and I had some hotlap races behind the scenes with Jerry and a few others and we could instantly watch each others replays which was perfect :)

I could instantly see that the pad days were over as I was losing a second per lap at Suzuka in identical cars to Jerry and I prefer to be closer :sly: So I bought a DFP as I didn't like the G25's complex layout when I tested a few laps in Holland at the last LAN, Anyway the DFP arrived and I hooked it up and got started testing at Suzuka and Eiger against the top wheelers laptimes

I started in kiddy view as in behind car view and it was definitely drivable but something was missing ... realism 💡 the feel of the race in chase view is just not as good as it feels using bumper cam .. spent a whole day running in bumper cam anyway and it was sealed ... I wont go back ;)
I can race in chase view but its not the same and you don't hear the engine roar the same and also its just plain boring to me now. The wheel clunking is basically how high the feedback is set ... set it at +10 and its a noisy bugger, wheras somewhere like +2 or +3 is nothing to wake the kids up with in the wee small hours ;)

I know you never wanted my life story .. but I thought it best to give you my view as I was hooked in chase view for 8 years using a pad and I was defo missing out on an overall better gaming experience :ouch:

Buy the DFP mate .. it will be the cheapest option yet very functional and heaps of fun .. just give yourself a few days to fully transgress and you will never go back imo

i'll try my pad times hopefully today, and then try the wheel on and off for the next 4-5 days...hopefully i and you will see an improvmeeent. it's about time i take that thing out the box. like everything i think it comes with experience, i'd be very surprised if i was within 3 seconds of the top runners, probably won't even get in the top 100

NSX + Professional + SIXAXIS = disaster!

Sorry GTPro, this week is likely not to be for me either...after some initial testing I'm not good enough to put this car around that track with those settings at competitive pace.

According to the realistic tyres list, S2 are the real tires for the NSX Type R. And it's always more fun with less traction. :mischievous:

I can race with S2's on most cars .. yet S2's on this thing are over exaggerated badly and simply not for me .. have fun mate! ;)

I did a few laps and the car realy easy to handle after driving a NSX in a 600 PP race.
Time 2.21,043 13th Place but still 2 seconds left to the 1.

Mr P. I have been racing all GT's with a pad for all those years.... 2 years ago I bought a DFP , tried it and never was as fast as I was with the pad, didn(t feel realistic for me... Then GT5p arrived and it was absolutely undriveable for me with the sixaxis (I was using X)
So I bought the G25 and now I have a lot of feeling... I have always used the bumper view, and will never change, this is how I feel the cars Physic the most... like in real life.
The G25 is more silent than the DFP except maybe if you use the H gearbox + clutch ;)

As I knew this combo will not make it for me either...:indiff: I will be miles away from the top 10, this car is so ????? for me, I never use it in this game as I hate the feeling with S2...

I just give it a try to see and I'm..................................................... Far from the leaders :nervous:
Actually 1.21.806 and 30th :ouch::ouch::ouch:
Really not my cup of tea :ill:

Maybe it's harder to use S2 with this car comparing to other cars because with the NSX we are using the real tyres, while with the other cars we are using better tyres than the real ones.

Mega tricky to keep this one on the track with the pad...

2.22.902

It will be interesting to see how our quicker members get on with this one as the top 10 times look pretty goo d.

First try:

1'21.017

The tune is quite different from mine, but the basics are the same.. :)

And as zocker said, the laps driven in 600pp really helps a bit here... but obviously not enough. This will be a hard one to make it into top 5..

:scared:

edit: ...after a week of doing this, I would imagine driving a GTR to be easy.. lol... :)

It's tricky but I do find it enjoyable, I'll just be way off the pace. :dopey: I spent 5 laps with this tail happy Honda.

2'24.955 (160th spot) :scared:

I did 4 more laps and the frustration (as opposed to fun) of trying to keep this car on the track is already messing with my nerves.
Can't see myself trying too hard with this combo, really. And I don't think I'll be the only one...

Gotta calm myself down now. Luckily I have plenty of booze in the house. 👍

This car is foreign to me, but handles a lot better than I expected.

2'22.796

I can see another second easily, but more than that would be difficult.

It sounds like most are hating this combination right now, mostly because of the NSX-R's extreme difficulty to tame around such a complex and long track. What makes this challenge great, however, is that your end time (when you think you've nailed it beautifully) is so much more rewarding, and thus builds your GT skills immensely in that your ability to drive various different natures of cars is broadened.

If you want to blame somebody for the pain its caused you though, forward it to Timppaq instead (sorry Timppaq, but I've got enough on my plate at the minute).

Never before have I realised how incredibly rewarding the extra control in the G25 would be. Damn.

PS: By the way Beerz, your time was atleast .250 better than my time, so post it!
