It's mostly a matter of rhythm, kind of like the hairpins at Eiger.
Only at Eiger you don't scrape walls and lose speed and steering when you don't do it well...
I only get this section of London decently about 50% of the times, and there's always a feeling that you were too careful and could've been faster.

Fixed.👍

I think it's simply beyond my skill level, I'm not bad to the end of sector 2 (maybe 0.3sec behind Spyrarri on a good one), but then I lose it all in the last 2 or 3 corners.

Those last corners the hard part is to go as near the inside barriers as you can without touching them (tricky, because the feeling of the car's width isn't easy to get a grip on.
After T2, as far as you can to the left to make angle and as close as you can to the barrier on the right, passing the apex.
Then I use the ending of the lettering on the tarmac as my braking point for the left hander (slow in-fast out here), and the right hander right after the same.
The final turn, I'm using the last yellow board above as the exact brake/turn point of reference, keep it steady and only fully hit the gas when on the apex.

I'm currently screwing up T2 a lot more, while getting the last sector better most of the times.
Still, my T1 varies a lot more than I wanted it to...

guys,i dont know what view you are using, but i drive onboard all the time....i also tried the bumper view and quickly discovered that (what beerz said in above post)you just dont have any idea where the side of the car is.....so you just are driving blindly into the corners only relying on your previous laps to remind you when to turn the wheel(or stick).....
on a streettrack your goal must be to use all off the available tarmac...so making the corners as wide as possible to get the max turn out speed!!...and on the london track, you can go closer to the walls than you think possible,so start practice on the chicane....if you do it right, you will win 0,3 second only by keeping your speed high and being a milimeter away from the wall thru these basterds of last 3 corners....:sly::)

anyway, hope to see london again next weekly challenge, only than the car being a RWD and with a bit more POWERRRRRRR....

:tup:spyrrari:tup:

I've had some time this morning. So, I used it for some good oldschool online racing. :)

Result:

0:15,991
0:32,895
1:01,582

Might be about 40 laps, DFP and in-car-view.

1'02.134

I don't care about you guys times any more, I finally beat a milestone for myself. I finally went faster from the interior view than I ever did from the chase view.:dopey: Most stupid thing though, I messed up sector 1 by about 0.1sec, and was only about 0.2-0.3sec behind Spyrrari but apart from his uncanny skill I messed up the last turn, by about 0.3sec it felt to what I normally do. But it doesn't matter, I can finally go faster from the interior view.:D This had left me in 25th overall, but I bet I won't stay there for long, because asolutely everyone can beat me, showing I'm a less than average driver.

First post updated. And to streamline the wheels of WATA a new, simple posting format is now required.

So I did 15 or so laps before work using the in-car view and I'm consistently doing low to mid 1'04s. I can see the benefits of having to know the width of the car and I think I can go faster still (I hope). I'll probably try a few more dozen laps later when I get home.

Some more laps and down to 1'01.732 can see a bit more but its like threading a needle in one shot with some of these turns

I likey :D 👍

Week 6 post is now up. This does NOT mean this week's event is over until the hitherto regular time of 12:00 GMT.

It's up an hour early because, well, Mum said it was time for bed.

I know i'm out of time...... but here's a time anyways after about 20 laps:

osrg - 1'02.870
