All comes down to eliminating obvious oversteer in your runs. You would be surprised how much time you lose simply by oversteering the vehicle into a minor drift, especially on last corner of the S-bends.

This worked for me in the end:tup: I was busy running round in 2'30 and then gradually cut my time down to:

2'25.094:sly:

Not blisteringly fast but great fun to drive and rewarding when you manage to tame the tail:lol: More tenths to shave off but repectable for now.

Timppaq - Awesome lap fella:cheers:

What puzzles me and I haven't figured out yet is how the fastest lap, while watching the replays, seem a lot more rough with the steering than I am, and still the rear holds its place.
I'm trying to be as smooth as I can with the G25 and yet, when I try to take a turn in a slight more incisive way, I'm all over the place...

Take turn 3, for instance. On the replays, the fastest guys aren't even braking, they just seem to throw the car to the left after a lift of the gas, and yet, when I try to do it, even at a slightly lower speed, the rear goes weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!, and it's time lost right there.

Anyone has any suggestions for me? I'm still far from being really fast in this game, but I know I don't suck that much. I just need a few pointers to guide me to the path of the eternal light, while driving this car.

Also, what values are you guys using on your brake bias?
Thanks. :)👍

You can change the brake bias in arcade time trials?

You can map the in game tuning options to unused buttons on the DFP or sixaxis.

I use square to bring up the menu, L3-R3 to scroll through the options, L2-R2 to change the settings. It's great for turning on TCS for a standing start, and then off before turn 1, or for adjusting brake-bias for time trials.

One thing that I've noticed is that it sometimes helps to overlap brake/throttle input (by left foot braking) as you change from brake to throttle. It slows down the weight transfer, and makes it easier to settle the car. I also find that you have to make sure you brake early and hard enough that you're at just the right speed at the turn in point. If you turn in with too much speed it often breaks the rear loose (especially if the weight is still transfered forward).

Oh that isn't fair if they let us change anything in time trials it should be steering lock. Max turning angle is a drivers preference and doesnt help with speed, brake bias helps with speed if you tune it right. I dont like that.

Anyways, I had a 1'21.xxx going then lost it on the exit of spoon because I couldn't turn the wheel enough, I have it too low it's almost sitting in my lap. Combine that with the small diameter of the DFP and I'm getting worn out.

I was about to post basically the same thing-don't be afraid to play with the brakes mid-corner to settle the tail.

As with most cars in GT5P, I've found that when (and how) you RELEASE the brakes is as important as how and where you begin to apply them. A litte bit of lockup here and there is OK, but if you don't release the brakes at the correct time, forget about making the corner, you'll just be slip-slidin' away.

I'm not particularly good at just letting a car roll through a corner, always I feel the need to play with the throttle/brakes, but I'm thinking this is the way to the fastest times.

I'm with you Beerz... set up my new G25 for the first time last night and gave this a go. Some turns are relatively straight forward for me (turn 1, degner and 130r), but the esses are a nightmare in the NSX... in that even being smooth as I feel I can be I still get a slide going as soon as a push a bit harder, and once the slide starts I just can't catch it.

Is there a trick to catching a slide with the wheel? At the moment I'm finding the pad more effective at catching the rear end than the wheel.

Gave this about five laps of DS3 frustration last night, on the first lap I had a scorching 2'15.xxx at T3 :( The second lap I nailed a 2'29.xxx and after that I just kept losing the tail trying to beat my ghost. The car just does not react how I expect and it makes me double think every move.

I found turning the force feedback up to 10 helped, because it stopped me from making any big, fast moves with the wheel (DFP). With the force feedback on 5, it was really easy to over-correct.

This is true my friend, I have found this to be helpful..I am about 300th-500th faster with it.. It does prevent me from making extremly fast moves.

Due to the rubbish online events I got into my NSX-R and did a couple of laps on Suzuka with it. Started of with 2'26.xxx, but improved that to 2'23.139. I'm quite happy with that time, as I'm in the top 100 of the online ranking :). Could be at least .4 seconds faster had I done all my fastest sectortimes in that lap though.

What's happening with this challenge? Seems like no one's playing it.

I just tried this combo and ran a 2'20.546 with the clutch which ranked me 9th. It was a lap I am quite happy with, though I lost some tenths at the hairpin and I was also a bit cautious at the last sector. My limit might be around 2'20.2 or so, but I will probably stick with this laptime and not try again.

Great lap time CMir!

I suppect everyone is playing the World Event a lot. So, thats where they are at. lol

2.22.082 is my best effort.

I really enjoyed this time attack, it taught me a lot about the NSX, MR vehicle handling and Suzuka. Thanks for the choice Timppaq.

I was no more frustrated by this one than the last. Great job everybody, see you next time.

2'21.852 my best...only noticed this thread yesterday evening!!damn!!

ach well,only did 10 laps or so...not too bad..lol.

spyrrari.

I'm current leading with one hour to go. According to the first post, the winner chooses the next combo. If no one passes me at the last hour, how do I submit my choice? By PM?

Sorry, I should've corrected that. We've now a new system whereby I recieve combo suggestions via PM and then post one of them randomly each week. 👍
