Time Trial #57 ...and now for something different

Improved to a 43.059 for 3rd =) Still need to work on the first sector and the corner immediately afterwards, but I am faster than Amo in the last sector ;)

Down to .116 which is good enough for P3.
I have a sub 43 in me (I choked so hard on this lap, lost 1 tenth in last sector).

Damn you two :P Nice laps.
Bandit, after watching and comparing both of our laps, I can see that I'm almost 2 tenths quicker than you in sector 2. Try to take the turn right after the hairpin much tighter like in my lap and you should gain a lot of time.

It was driving me up the wall trying to improve my time (excuse the pun  ) But I finally got it, a shame my first sector wasn't a bit better, but I can go to bed knowing I'm in 3rd now ;)

Okay Doodle, I will have a look tomorrow :) Way too tired right now haha

Can you (Doodle) check the theoretical best between your, Bandit's and my lap?
I think I have a decent T1, great T2 time and an awfull T3 (T2 beeing the alien sector).

I wonder what time our best sectors produce.

:'( I wanted to do that, now I can't sleep (I won't go on GT5 I promise, so you should stay in P3 'till tomorrow). Have fun while it lasts. :P
PS. Japanese will take us all down a few spots I'm sure of that.

In the meantime I'll have fun playing The Sims 3. :embarrassed:

I will try that in a bit. :)

Edit:
After watching Bandit, S-Jev (gtpace), Amo, NTGIH (I made sure I included you :)), and my laps and recording the sector times, I have found these sector times from all of you:

Amo: 11.960 15.188 15.657
Bandit: 12.125 15.322 15.612
S-Jev: 12.169 15.170 15.777
Doodle: 12.214 15.170 15.752
NTGIH: 12.250 15.313 15.609

When looking at these sector times, I found these to be the fastest in each sector:
T1: 12.125 (Bandit) T2: 15.170 (Doodle & S-Jev) T3: 15.609 (NTGIH)

Adding these sector times up, we come up with a theoretical best of 42.904, still .099 behind Amo. That unbelievable T1 really did help him! I think Amo said on the TC fourms that he has a 42.5 possible.

I can't do .9 in T1 without going red (I redded a .007 lap which had a .9 T1), how he did that is beyond me.
Still, well done us I guess, fastest T2s in the world (that we know of). :)
Thanks for your effort, really useful info, my best clean T1 is .087, so we can say that I have .1 left in T1, best T2 is .170 and best T3 is 670ish (don't know the exact number).

That brings me to my theoretical best of about 43.92x, I need to find some time in T3 (you can just see how much I choked in T3) and in T1, doubt I touch Amo unless I work out how he takes that second corner.

PS. Unreal T3s from Bandit and NTGIH, half a tenth faster than my PB (that I know of)!

I just managed a 44:110, good for 203rd! But the 2nd turn is killing me hard! I can get through turn 1 faster than some of top 10 but ether cut turn 2 to much or just over shoot apex and the revs drop to low.. Only been on it an 40mins so should improve.

I must say, this is looking to be very fun without the tuning side to worry about.. I don't get a lot of time to play gt5 at the mo (wife/baby/work), so it's good for me that when I do get time, I can just drive without using time up with a set up!
Looking at the telemetry of the top 10 helps a lot I think..

Just improved to a 43.001 but went way too wide on the exit of the first turn in the 2nd sector again, that is where I lost all the time to Amo.

EDIT: Now on a 42.978 had an awesome last sector at 15.591 but only 12.114 first sector and 15.273 in the middle sector :)

Was just ahead of Amo after the first turn in the second sector but I cut the next corner :(

Nice post doodle, thanks for comparing the sectors, I hadn't had a chance to look. I jumped on a little last night and missed the last corner by a couple mm, it was a really low 43. I can see getting into the 42s but I think that might be it for me. Amo's second corner is nuts, I've tried all different bb, but still can't get the car to turn there. I haven't tried 0/10 yet :), maybe that's the ticket.

Nice Lap Bandit! Like the updates and comradery here, makes it more fun than running anonymous laps.

I've improved to a 2'00.320 at GVS-R :)

I used 1/7 BB but I also used a dab of handbrake in the hairpin I think, I can see Amo's time it's just a matter of nailing every corner

I didn't improve yet but I ran several 43.0s and 42.9s in the red today :ouch: I'm gonna take a break from GT5 for this week because it's taking up too much of my daily life, especially during the weekends.

I hear you doodle, moderation is a good thing. I find that my concentration level only lasts a short while. I can bang away on more laps but I usually won't go any faster, it's good for me to stay fresh. That being said, I had a short go. That pesky first sector does me in. I did a 12.3 this time.

Bandit I tried to tap the ebrake, I couldn't get that to work for me. I had to lift in the last sector too, but it was still good.

This one was a 43.066 P4

T1 12.322 - T2 15.131 - T3 15.613

T2 15.131

 Awesome T2!!

Edit: So I feel a little better to run some laps. On one of my laps I barely cut the first turn (accidentally, of course) and then proceeded to perfect every other turn after that. It would have been a 42.899 :banghead:

Edit 2: Got a 43.022. I got my best clean T1 (12.10x), a not as good as I hoped T2, and a great T3. Still running laps right now.

Edit 3: 42.963 for P3! Here are my sector times:
T1: 12.096, T2: 15.178, T3: 15.689

Reading you guys posts makes my own hardly worth the effort, however l have improved from yesterdays 45:6 to 44:920 and l am often .5 sec ahead of my ghost in the 1st section.

But that's enough for now, maybe later.

Oh, I forgot to say that l am exactly #1,000 on the leader board.

Well, have further improved since that post, am now #483 with a 44:499 run, took Doodles advice and never used 1st gear.

But my thumbs now are killing me. Wrists yesterday, thumbs today.

Well the WRS week 108 is now the Cappuccino TT - so I guess I'm going to have to go back to it and work on it over the week. Might try and get higher up the board as well.

If I don't have work tonight, I'm goin to be running this all night since everybody will be asleep. That is if my monitor will stay attached to my VESA stand. 2 screw holes where stripped out and it's slowly working its way out. Gotta send it back. 2 weeks without gt5, no good :/

Nice doodle, way to get into the 42s! You guys are crushing me in that first sector. I'm going to have to look at that second corner before I try again.

So I tried the Dodge for half an hour without ABS! I must say it does make the car very fun to drive (even more fun!) and although I have never driven in GT5 without ABS before I was starting to get the hang of it, and I think I should be able to go faster when I have mastered it and sorted out braking points etc. for all the corners :) So far I did a 2'01.0 and I will do a bit more practice in the morning :D

with g27? or other wheel? ... couse my DFGT break pedal is no good for abs 0 i think :)

Really good times from you guys!

I'm sure that there has been improvements for non-ABS. I had a try in a previous tt and it was not as bad as i have previously experienced and thought the game had improved in that area.

Just thought i would bung that in. Love to run these but i injured my shoulder thursday and it was too painfull to do a lap. Hope to get on them soon. Keeping up with the thread though.

Well done guys.

I'm using a G27, I ended up with a BB of 3/2 this morning so that I could press the brake harder without locking, still a lot of practice needed though, but it is great fun :D

So I was going to get on here and give doodle a hard time about besting him by .002 and then I see that Bandit has me by .002. I wonder if that's karma? Ha ha, so P5-7 is separated by .004. Too funny.

Nothing too crazy on my lap, dropped some time on the first sector, decent second, and good third.

12.165 15.207 15.589 = 42.961 .002 slower than Bandit and .002 faster than doodle

   Beat you to it! ;) I almost had a time that would have been very close to Amo's again but I messed up the final sector :( No more time this evening but hopefully I will get that lap some time this week :)

Looks like I found a reason to turn on the PS3.... right after I eat this pizza.

The Viper is more stable than I thought it was going to be. Currently on 2.02 @ #181 after about 3 hours, however I can improve by at least half a second if I can tie in all 3 sectors, but because it's a long lap it's easier said than done.
